BALOCHISTAN HIGHLIGHTS •

COVID-19 is spreading very fast in Balochsitan province, particularly in community. Today 62 and yesterday 72 positive cases have been reported which is highest numbers in two consecutive days. The numbers of COVID-19 confirmed cases has risen to 915 with 62 new cases including overall 14 death (CFR 1.5). The active cases are 725 in province. Local transmission is increasing, out of 915, 83% (764) cases are from

Quetta (646), Chagai (14) Lorlai (06), Jaffarabad (21), Khuzdar (01),Mastung (13), Kharan (02) Pishin (42), Killabdullah (07), Sibi (08) Ziarat (03) and Harnai (01).

The total deaths are 14 in province due to Co-Morbidity with COVID-19. The primary reason of deaths are renal failure / other co-morbidities. The deaths are taken because secondary came COVID-19 positive. Death Category with positive COVID-19 03 Renal Failure 06 Hypertension/Diabetes 04 ARDS/COPD 01 Carcinoma


A meeting held at CM Secretariat regarding COVID-19 reference Lab participated by Secretary Health, Additional Secretary CM and Operational Cell officials to talk about strengthen of lab testing and coordination. As per direction of Chief Minister Balochistan - to get idea about disease pattern and for future strategy random sampling has been started from 04 areas (Kuchlock, Shabaz town Jinnah town, Nosar and Kechi baig Ghous abad) of Quetta with four RRT team. Till today 511 samples have been taken, 33 results came positive, negative 170 and remaining in pending.

Surveillance / Rapid Response Team / PDSRU: •

The District RRTs will do manual lab entry, and more Tablet will be provided for electronic lab request entries. The lab samples results will be declared within 72 hours of lab sample collection. The CMDU cell will facilitate the Reference lab data team and will enter all previous lab data in CMDU dashboard, CMDU provided Laptops and scanner for lab records D.RRT Quetta screened 724 persons and total 118 samples taken. P. RRT facilitated D. RRT Pishin for COVID_19 Positive case contact sampling and took 19 samples of close contacts of Positive case. P.RRT screened 45 persons and took 14 lab samples at Quetta and P. RRT team collected lab samples and trained the D. RRT Panjgoor team.

Collected 74 samples of Corona suspects. Helpline 1122 received 19 calls (screening request). Consultation given by Medical Officers and responded by MERC team.

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF 853 CAES TILL 27 APRIL 2020 A total of Seven Hundred and twenty two (853) confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported from Balochistan. The case fatality rate was 1.5%. The mean age of cases were 35 years, median age was 34 years, and with age range of 2 months -94 years. Mean Age

Age Group: The most affected age group was 30-44 years 33.65% (n=287) followed by 15-29 years 26.14% (n=223). The highest attack rate (244/1000000 population) was in age group 60+ years followed by 45-59 Years age group (AR=181/1000000 population). The overall attack rate was 65/1000000 population in Province.
