Unforgettable looks of the week!
THE CUT
FASHION
Mahira Khan Does this woman ever get it wrong? Mahira dons a powder blue sari from Élan’s Champs de Pachouli collection oh so perfectly. She lets the heavily embellished sari do all the talking and teams her look with statement diamond earrings. She keeps it effortless with her hair pulled back in a bun and minimal make-up. TEdit loves!
Nikhar Riaz Nikhar looks like a vision in a white! She wears her sari unconventionally and drapes it around the back, paired with a peplum top. She finishes off her look with chaand bali’s and bouncy hair. So fabulous!
DECEMBER 24-30 2017
38
Anaam Ayub Anaam looks pretty in a pastel pink chikan kaari lehnga choli! Her diamond earrings and choker complement the look perfectly. She makes a classic sleek bun with a centre parting and sets it off with fresh gajras. Very feminine!

DECEMBER 24-30 2017
Natasia K Paul Natasia keeps it festive in a silver lengha choli and Élan dupatta. We love how the details from her ensemble complement her traditional jhoomkas. She completes her look with diamond jewels and a pink pout.
Maha Ahmad Hussain Maha does complete justice to this contemporary Sana Safinaz gown! The pearl and net frill on the ice blue base looks gorgeous. She completes her look with pinned up hair, a crystal minaudière and a bright pink pout. Absolute diva!

SHAIYANNE MEMON
International Law student at the University of Houston and avid fashion follower, Shaiyanne Memon decodes her style. From the styles she loves, to the silhouettes she avoids, she shares it all Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type? I have a petite body frame with shorter proportions. Has your body type changed over the last five years? Absolutely! I gain weight really fast now so I have to be extremely careful and watch what I eat, which is very difficult. How has your style changed over the years? I try sticking to the upcoming trends but also try not to experiment too much because every style doesn’t suit every body structure. In your opinion what is your most troublesome area? My lower body has been my most infuriating problem! How do you dress your body according to your body type? I have narrow shoulders so a cute off shoulder top and ripped jeans would do! I also opt for high waisted pants mostly because they elongate my figure. In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here? I feel like when people wear illfitted clothes or clothes that are too tight, that in my opinion is a big no no. Which silhouettes suit your body the most? Loose and flared mid length dresses are my favourite because they accentuate my upper body. What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why? Pencil skirts and bodycon dresses for sure!

One Piece, Three Ways WITH TUHURA ATHLETICS While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designer’s collection, according to their own individual style and taste!
T
hese comfort flow pants by Tuhura Athletics are super comfy and flattering. The lightweight fabric makes them comfortable enough to be worn casually. We love that the pants are versatile enough to be worn as a jumpsuit. Team it with a bomber jacket and white kicks for a super cool vibe.

Mehek Saeed Style Editor, Grazia Pakistan I styled Tuhura’s revolutionary comfort flow pants with my pink Mango bomber and Zara green suede top. While the pants are super comfy and flattering, they’re black so I wanted to add some colour to the look! I threw on my 9lines shades and sneakers to finish off the look.

DECEMBER 24-30 2017
Alizeh Waqar Model I styled these Tuhura pants like a jumpsuit with a gold reversible bomber jacket and white kicks. To complete the comfy chic look I tied my hair in a man bun and added some green sunglasses to add another pop of colour!

Palwasha Yousuf Hair Stylist/ Freelance Fashion Stylist These yoga pants by Tuhura Athletics are super comfy and I opted to wear them as a jumpsuit. I threw on a grey knitted cardigan and teamed the look with some kicks. Since my look is super casual, I wore a black choker to complete my look. I love that these yoga pants can be worn in a versatile way.

NANDANA, MAHVESH AND MEHMOONA BASHAR R Sister trio, Nandana and Mahvesh - who run design house N&M, and Mehmoona Bashar, head of PR and communications at Sherry Rehman’ss Think Tank, talk sisterhood. From their first memories of each other too everything they get up to together, these siblings share it all DECEMBER CEMBE 24-30 30 20 2017

What’s your first memory of each other? Nandana: Mahvesh reading Archie comics quietly but also taking notes of everything around her and Mehmoona locking herself in the bathroom and making false threats that she would tell our parents that I beat her. Mahvesh: Biting Mehmoona’s finger out of jealousy when she was six months old and Nandana making me eat bird food or drink paint before I was allowed to play with friends (that were mine). Mehmoona: Sitting behind Nandana during the days we had MSN, reading her chats with a bag of chips like I was at the movies. Also, picking up the landline from the other side while she was on the phone. Mahvesh and I had a lot of pretend salon sessions where she would use lotion in my hair as hair dye. What is the craziest thing you have done together? Nandana: What happens in Barcelona stays in Barcelona! Mahvesh: Our sister trip to Barcelona! Enough said! Mehmoona: Our Whatsapp group chat has a lot of crazy stuff going on, on it. What did you get punished for the most as a child? Nandana: Not fixing my cupboard and breaking curfews was standard. Signing my own report card was a bonus. Mahvesh: I’ve gotten scolded the most, for not sticking to curfews or just being lazy about something I had been told to do. Mehmoona: Breaking curfews and not studying when it was time to. If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the others closet, what would it be? Nandana: Mahvesh’s vintage saris given to her by mummy and pretty much everything Mehmoona owns. Mahvesh: We have similar clothes so

Nandana’s baraat set that belonged to my grandmother. Mehmoona: Mahvesh has a few of our mum’s beautiful saris I wish I got my hands on first, and Nandana’s wedding jewellery that belonged to our grandmother. If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do? Nandana: Take Mahvesh’s level head and put it on my shoulders and take all her money and put it in her savings. And with Mehmoona, I’d put all the people who have been mean to her in their place since she’s way too nice to do so. Mahvesh: Get rid of Mehmoona’s super long pink kurta that she loves lounging in. If I were Nandana I’d start doing things more spontaneously. She plans too much. Mehmoona: Eat the way Mahvesh does without worrying about piling on the pounds. Cuddle with Nandana’s daughter Jasmeyn. What is the one thing you love about your sibling? Nandana: Mahvesh’s determination and emotional stability and Mehmoona’s laugh and her “let’s jumphow high” attitude which really means she’s ready to do anything. Mahvesh: I love that I can force Mehmoona to do anything and I love Nandana’s ability to make friends easily. Mehmoona: Nandana has the ability to make you laugh even when you can’t or aren’t supposed to. I love how Mahvesh is determined towards what she thinks is right. If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up? Nandana: We don’t need to make up, it just happens. Mahvesh: We don’t. It happens automatically. Mehmoona: We usually end up forgetting about it after a while.
What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you did too? Nandana: Mahvesh’s random business ventures and Mehmoona’s hairstyling techniques. Mahvesh: Mehmoona can pluck her eyebrows without looking and Nandana doesn’t let people mess with her. Mehmoona: Mahvesh can lift things with her feet when she’s too lazy to bend and Nandana makes the best banana bread and oatmeal cookies. Describe your sibling in three words: Nandana: Mahvesh- level-headed, determined, financially reckless. Mehmoona- Easy-going, funny, in vogue. Mahvesh: Mehmoona- dependable, funny, fashion forward. Nandanaunreserved, amiable, fierce. Mehmoona: Nandana - confident, good-humored, practical. Mahvesh driven, chic, spontaneous. Which fictional character is your sibling most like? Nandana: Mehmoona - Marty from Madagascar, Mahvesh - Coco. Mahvesh: Mehmoona - Marty from Madagascar, Nandana - Daisy Duck. Mehmoona: Nandana - Dory, Mahvesh - Professor Ducktales. How are your personalities similar? Nandana: We are all mental. Period! Mahvesh: We can laugh endlessly over the same senseless jokes. Mehmoona: We don’t make a big deal out of situations that aren’t meant to and know how to laugh at ourselves. I can’t live without my sisters because… Nandana: Who needs friends when you have sisters? (sorry friends) Mahvesh: That would mean no sister Whatsapp group - the place with all the answers you’re looking for! Mehmoona: They are my go-to for almost everything.

THE NOTEPAD Myra Qureshi, Co-founder and CEO CoNatural was inspired to create her own skin care range due to the lack of organic and natural cosmetic and personal care products available in the market. She jots down eight of her go-to products for the season Go-to Moisturiser This essential day cream by CoNatural can be used as a moisturiser in summer and winter! I know what goes into it and it’s completely organic and safe to use. My skin is on the dry side and the product contains the perfect oils to moisturise my skin without making it greasy.
Daily Cleanser I don’t use a face wash because I am in love with CoNatural’s Organic Nourishing Goat’s Milk with Shea Butter bar (which I proudly developed myself!). I use it as a cleanser in the morning and at night and prefer it over other cleansers because it’s mild and has natural ingredients to keep my skin moisturised throughout the day.
For The Glow! The Terracotta Light Sheer bronzing powder by Guerlain is my favourite. I use it as a highlighter and bronzer because it gives a very subtle tint with the perfect glow.
Essentials The Dior Addict Mascara is the best! I also love Pleasures by Estée Lauder and have been using it since I was 18 and I will never, ever, stop!
Hair Care I have long hair and spend my day shuffling from the factory to the office to meetings and events – from the air conditioning to the scorching sun, extreme temperatures dry out my hair, so I really need to provide my hair with some TLC. My go-to product is the Organic Intense Luster Hair Oil. I use it once a week and it keeps my hair conditioned and super soft.
For a Flawless Look I use foundation only in the evenings if it’s an occasion. Georgio Armani’s Designer Lift Foundation has the perfect coverage, doesn’t give you a very heavy feel and gives you the perfect flawless look!
The Radiance Saviour At night, when my skin is really dry, I use Neil’s Yard Organic Wild Rose Beauty Balm to keep my skin healthy and radiant. It is the perfect product to carry when I am travelling to cope with changing climates. It’s an all in one product - a cleanser, mask and moisturiser!
The Favourite Blush For some reason, most blush pigments and textures don’t sit well on my face except the powder blushes by Revlon.
