Hi light
2 With Eidul Azha right around the corner, most of you must already have bugged your parents to buy you an animal you could boast about to your friends. Competition among friends is good but at the same time, it is important for you to take good care of the animals. They are living beings and need proper care and attention. It is important that in all the festivity, the animals do not suffer. Here are a few pointers for you to make sure that you make your furry buddy feel loved during its short stay with you.
Feeding them right Every animal has a special diet that it has been raised on, so it’s a smart idea to ask the seller what your furry friend usually eats. Make sure that you provide it enough food and water throughout the day. Unlike us humans, animals cannot ask for food so it is important that you keep a check and be responsible for them. Make sure that the utensils you use for them are clean and pest-free. Store their food properly in a cool, dry place and make sure that it does not go to waste. In case you are feeding them fresh greens, be sure to buy just as much as will be consumed in a single day — just like you animals do not like stale food. Do not leave the feeding duties to anyone else: if you say it is your animal then be sure that you take care of all its needs.
Grooming and care Most people like to adorn their animals with lots of colourful garlands and bells. It is nice to do that but make sure that these adornments do not hurt the animal in any way. Also, just as you the may not be comfortable wearing a certain piece of adornment, do not force the animal to. What is more important is to make sure that your furry buddy stays clean, so brushing their fur and keeping them tidy may actually be the best way to make them look special. Every animal likes to be petted and loved — that is one language that all living beings understand so be sure you give them lots of love.
Treating them well Make sure you pick a comfortable spot for the animal to stay. It is a good idea to pick a spot with sand or soil rather than marble or cement which may cause the animal to slip and fall. Make sure that their temporary home remains clean and is comfortable. Also, choose a shady spot for them as it is not nice to be in the sun for hours on end. Give your furry friends plenty of exercise but be sure not to overwork them. Spend as much time as you can with the animal in order to create that special bond that is the basis of Eidul Azha’s sacrifice.

3 A 6ft 4in cow from Illinois has been named the tallest in the world by Guinness World Records. Blossom, a 13-year-old Holstein Friesian cow, is owned by Patty Hanson and lives on her farm in Orangeville. Blossom reaches Hanson’s shoulder. She is so big that Blossom barely fits in the chute for the foot trimmer. Blosom is so popular that she even has her own Facebook page.
Hi light
She weighs a whooping 80kg. Sally’s owners claim she will eat anything that stands still long enough and she has a habit of laying around in the sun during the day. Her weight does not allow her to get a lot of exercise. Sally’s record has not been verified by the Guinness World Records.
Sally: World’s fattest goat
Blossom: World’s tallest cow
Recently a lost, overgrown sheep, dubbed Chris was found in Australian scrubland and shorn for perhaps the first time in five years, yielding 40 kilograms (89 pounds) of wool — the equivalent of 30 sweaters. He shed almost half his body weight. Tammy Ven Dange, chief executive of the Canberra RSPCA, which rescued the merino ram said that she hoped to register the 40.45 kilogram (89 pound, 3 ounce) fleece with Guinness World Records.
On May 25th 2015 a camel believed to be the world’s oldest died at a zoo in Yokohama. The female Bactrian camel, Tsugaru, was believed to be 38 years old, or about 120 in human years. Staff at Nogeyama Zoo say Tsugaru lost her appetite on Friday morning after falling sick. She died during the night. Tsugaru was born on a farm in Aomori Prefecture. She was transferred to the zoo in 1982 where she became an instant hit. People called her Tsugaru-san.

Fun Facts about Volcanoes
Q: What time does a duck wake up? A: At the quack of dawn
Q: What time is it when an elephant sits on the fence? A: Time to fix the fence
A volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of molten rock below the surface of the earth. When pressure builds up, eruptions occur. In an eruption, gases and rock shoot up through the opening and spill over or fill the air with lava fragments. Eruptions can cause lava flows, hot ash flows, mudslides, avalanches, falling ash and floods. The danger area around a volcano covers about a 20-mile radius. Fresh volcanic ash, made of pulverized rock, can be harsh, acidic, gritty, glassy and smelly. The ash can cause damage to the lungs of older people, babies and people with respiratory problems.
Q: Why did the pony have to gargle? A: Because it was a little horse
Q: What did the tree wear to the pool party? A: Swimming trunks
Q: What kind of meals do math teachers eat? A: Square meals
The most deadly eruptions have occurred in Indonesia, with tens of thousands of lives lost to starvation, tsunami (as a result of the eruption), ash flows and mudflows. Volcanic lightning occurs mostly within the cloud of ash during an eruption, and is created by the friction of the ash rushing to the surface. Roughly 200 accounts of this lightning have been witnessed live. An erupting volcano can trigger tsunamis, flash floods, earthquakes, mudflows and rockfalls. More than 80% of the earth’s surface is volcanic in origin. The sea floor and some mountains were formed by countless volcanic eruptions. Gaseous emissions from volcanoes formed the Earth’s atmosphere.
? w o n k u o y Did The invention of the tooth brush Toothbrushing tools date back to 3500-3000 BC when the Babylonians and the Egyptians made a brush by fraying the end of a twig. Tombs of the ancient Egyptians have been found containing toothsticks alongside their owners. Around 1600BC, the Chinese developed “chewing sticks” which were made from aromatic tree twigs to freshen breath. The Chinese are believed to have invented the first natural bristle toothbrush made from the bristles from pigs’ necks in the 15th Century, with the bristles attached to a bone or bamboo handle. When it was brought from China to Europe, this design was adapted and often used softer horsehair which many Europeans preferred. Other designs in Europe used feathers. The first toothbrush of a more modern design was made by William Addis in England around 1780 — the handle was carved from cattle bone and the brush portion was still made from swine bristles. In 1844, the first 3-row bristle brush was designed. Natural bristles were the only source of bristles until Du Pont invented nylon. The invention of nylon started the development of the truly modern toothbrush in 1938, and by the 1950s softer nylon bristles were being made, as people preferred these. The first electric toothbrush was made in 1939 and the first electric toothbrush in the US was the Broxodent in 1960. Today, both manual and electric toothbrushes come in many shapes and sizes and are typically made of plastic molded handles and nylon bristles. The most recent toothbrush models include handles that are straight, angled, curved, and contoured with grips and soft rubber areas to make them easier to hold and use. Toothbrush bristles are usually synthetic and range from very soft to soft in texture, although harder bristle versions are available. Toothbrush heads range from very small for young children to larger sizes for older children and adults and come in a variety of shapes such as rectangular, oblong, oval and almost round. The basic fundamentals have not changed since the times of the Egyptians and Babylonians — a handle to grip, and a bristle-like feature with which to clean the teeth. Over its long history, the toothbrush has evolved to become a scientifically designed tool using modern ergonomic designs and safe and hygienic materials that benefit us all. Head in the ... Visitor services assistant Craig Hardman found a bullock unable to free itself in the grounds of Trelissick House. The 38-year-old, together with other staff at the property in Truro, Cornwall, removed branches and chiselled away at the tree to free the animal. Craig said, “I was alerted by a member of the public who was walking his dog, after they spotted the cow in the car park. I thought it was a strange report, but I went over to have a look anyway. As I was walking down through the field I saw a member of the public next to a tree, and sure enough, a cow had its head stuck in there. It was a bullock, and his head was firmly lodged in the tree, It took us over an hour to get him out. We had to remove a lower branch and chisell around the opening. One of his ears was visible but the other was stuck, so we had to chisel the other ear out. The bullock wasn’t distressed though, he was fine. We don’t know why he put his head in there, but another cow has been back to the same spot so there must be some nutrient in there that they like. The second cow also got stuck but was freed easily as we had already widened the hole the first time around.” EXPRESS.CO.UK

This overflowing bucket of KFC chicken may look like a carnivore’s idea of heaven, but vegetarians can tuck in too — as it’s all made out of cake. The very realistic bucket meal, crafted by Branka Njegich for a friend’s 21st birthday has already taken social media by storm. Njegich from Perth, Australia said, “The chicken is not chicken, the chips are fondant, the gravy is a creamy caramel and the mashed potato a vanilla buttercream. The corn is jelly beans and melted Starbursts.” The full-time computer programmer, who learned to cook through helping her mother in the kitchen, says she bakes as a hobby. After she posted the cake on Instagram and Facebook she was approached by Facebook page Club Parada who shared the image as a meme. ‘Finger licking good? Relax, it’s a cake,’ the meme said. Monkey rescued A male monkey captured earlier this week in eastern Kentucky, remain in quarantine but how the adult Rhesus made it to the region is unknown, his current caretaker said. April Truitt, executive director of the Primate Rescue Center, received a call last Tuesday from someone in Bath County, about 45 miles east of Lexington, who reported spotting the monkey near their home. Truitt then called Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials. Less than 12 hours later, officials tranquilised the monkey and brought it to Truitt’s facility near Nicholasville. Truitt said the monkey was found close to the location of the caller’s home, indicating it was probably being fed by someone in the area. “He was not in good health,” she said. Truitt noticed the monkey had a chest tattoo, which is typical for laboratory animals, but believes that somehow the monkey became a pet. The monkey’s tattoo indicates he was born in August 2005, which is when Kentucky banned owning a monkey as a pet. Because of the attention the case has received, Truitt does not believe the people who lost the monkey will come forward. . The monkey came to Truitt weighing 9.7 pounds, which is less than half the weight of an adult male, she said. However, Rhesus monkeys are considered a hardy breed. While in quarantine, Truitt said she is feeding the monkey peanut butter sandwiches to help it gain weight, and she hopes it will feel better within a week. UK.REUTERS.COM
Tractor collection A 79-year-old Norfolk farmer is preparing to sell off his vast £2 million collection of vintage tractors — because his family do not share his passion for the machines. Paul Rackham has spent 25 years buying up and restoring more than 230 rare agricultural machines, amassing what is thought to be by far the biggest collection in Britain. But Mr Rackham said he had now decided to sell off the tractors, rather than leaving him to his family. “My family do not share the same passion as I do in collecting tractors and the time has come in life when decisions have to be made,” he said. “It is time to take on another challenge.” James Durrant of Clarke and Simpson, one of the auctioneers selling off the collection, said he believed Mr Rackham had spent more money building up the collection than he was expected to make from selling them. Spreading knowledge By Sheroz Essa Sameer was a brilliant student. He never failed a single subject and was his teachers’ favourite. He worked hard every single day to be the best in his studies. He was enthusiastic about every new piece of information and always wanted to know more. Sameer’s lifelong dream was to spread the knowledge he acquired, especially among kids who could not afford formal education. One day, he was on his way to the store when he saw a boy washing a car and trying to read a book at the same time. As he went closer, Sameer realised the boy was reading a novel that he himself liked very much. Sameer then decided it was time to help the boy and others like him. The next morning, Sameer woke up and went looking for children who wanted to study. Many children working as sweepers and at auto workshops were eager to take up Sameer’s offer to teach them in his spare time. After listening to the stories of these children, Sameer was shocked to learn how they ate and how hard their lives were. He then went home and spoke to his father, who set up a small school at their residence. Sameer then brought the children to his house and started teaching them with the help of other teachers. He also provided stationery and new clothes, attracting the attention of more children. By sharing his own knowledge, Sameer soon became an excellent example of someone who genuinely cares for the people of his community. People on the street who once shouted at these street children started being nice to them and realising the struggle they face.

Material
Ingredients: Lemon juice
50ml
Mint
4-5 leaves
White fizzy drink
250 ml
Ice
4-5 cubes
• An empty soda can • Blown-up balloon
Directions: • Place the can on its side on a flat smooth surface like a table or a smooth floor. • Rub the blown-up balloon back and forth through your hair really fast. • Hold the balloon close to the can without actually touching the can. The can will start to roll towards the balloon without you even touching it!
• Pop the ice cubes in a tall glass.
Try This Too: While you’ve got the balloon out, tear up part of a tissue into tiny pieces about 1/4 inch (.5 cm) big. Rub the balloon in your hair again and bring it close to the tissue pieces. They will be attracted to the balloon and then jump away.
• Pour the lemon mint mixture over them then pour on the fizzy drink.
What is happening:
Method: • Whiz the lemon juice and mint leaves with a little water in a blender.
• Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
Remember kids, always get permission from your parents before you start. It’s always a good idea to have a helper nearby.
When you rub the balloon through your hair, invisible electrons (with a negative charge) build up on the surface of the balloon. This is called ‘static electricity’, which means ‘non-moving electricity’. The electrons have the power to pull very light objects (with a positive charge) toward them — like the soda can.
