How would you describe your body type? I’d say petite. Has your body type changed over the last five years? Yes, definitely. I was always on the skinny side but I’ve gotten leaner and much fitter than I was five years ago. I follow a very strict workout routine almost five days a week. How has your styled changed over the years? I’ve always liked to play around with colours, prints and patterns and I still continue to do so. However, now I’ve developed a special liking towards minimalism. In your opinion, what is your most troublesome area? My core for sure. How do you dress your body according to your body type? I love experimenting so I don’t stick to any one kind of style. You’ll find cigarette pants, boyfriend jeans, flared pants, jumpsuits and a lot more in my closet. But I make sure that whatever I wear compliments my weight, height and the overall look. In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing? Not wearing clothes according to one’s body

type is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing up. Which silhouettes suit your body the most? Flared pants and wrap tops really compliment my body. What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why? There’s nothing I shy away from wearing. I own whatever I wear and make sure I look my best.

What sparked your interest in photography? Back in the 90’s when every kid’s parents owned a Kodak SLR, my father used to document every moment in a picture which sparked my initial interest in it. To build on my initial interest during my time at IVS, I took photography as my minor and later did my thesis using that medium. The interest became a career during my university time and I haven’t looked back since. How do you bring your inspiration into reality? By feeling every moment that I am experiencing at that particular time and capturing those moments which will be a life long memory for someone.

youngsters learning new and different techniques. Universities have started offering different courses in this field which has increased the pool of talented photographers, giving everyone a variety of options. Describe your photographic style? How did this style come about? Every photographer learns and then builds up on their style, initially I was inspired by local and international photographers who were aesthetically quite strong especially Diane Arbus’s work which led me to document in Lyari and Peshawar during my under grad school days. Later on the style kept developed significantly over the years, it still needs work for sure! People need to step out of classism and consider this as a respectful profession, respecting someone’s time and profession are two things this field has yet to experience.

What type of photography do you do most? What do you enjoy about it and why? Currently, wedding photography is my forte but back in my under grad days I went to Lyari and Peshawar (refugee camp) to document their life and I particularly enjoyed that genre as well. What is the most challenging part about being a photographer for you? Being a woman in our current society is a challenge itself, let alone being a female photographer. When I first started it was extremely difficult to overcome the hurdles, won’t lie but there were days when I thought about quitting but again life had other plans for me. Fought the odds and here I am, still standing strong. How has the Pakistani photography industry changed over the past few years? It has changed significantly, gone are the days when Jimmy’s and Dossani’s were the only go to places for a posed picture, the market has a vast variety of

Keep learning and practicing, until you find your work style. Don’t let the failures hold you back. What makes a good picture? There is no hard and fast rule for a good picture. Table Talk with

Wild Wings

A sports themed restaurant serving unique flavours in the city of Lahore, Wild Wings has quickly made a name among the locals. 18 different hot sauces, gooey mac and cheese, salad jars and chilli cheeto burgers are what make this eatery stand out among the rest on the block. We catch up with Faraz and Lubna Faraz Gul who partnered up with Omer Ehtasham and Harika Ehtasham to launch Wild Wings, to talk about their culinary journey and the flavours on the menu

How did your culinary journey begin? Culinary business was always a lifelong passion that we didn’t pursue due to other commitments. About two years ago, all four of us, while on a trip decided to open up a place where food meets sports and focus on chicken wings and burgers, and here we are today! What inspired you to establish an eatery in Lahore? After establishing a great clientele in our hometown, Islamabad, we decided to challenge the people of Lahore to our hottest wings, keeping in view the potential and public persuasion. Wild Wings is offering a wide variety of food items; were you ever reluctant to add a certain item to the menu? Never! We love adding new items and experimenting with ingredients. JULY 21-27 2019

In your opinion what differentiates Lahore and Islamabad in terms of taste and food choice? Lahore is definitely a larger city with more variety of cuisines. People in Lahore are a little more experimental and we love that!

What was the vision behind establishing a sports themed restaurant? We wanted a place where everyone can enjoy all kind of sports with their friends and family along with great food! Which wings are the hottest on the menu? Are you good at handling spicy food? We love spicy food! Right now our flavour “Snake Bite” is the hottest of all. We introduce different sauces all the time so be sure to try them all! Which item from the menu is your personal favourite? All of them but if we had to choose one then we love our chilli cheetos burger and wild wings original naked wings! What are the challenges that come with sustaining a restaurant? A lot of our items require imported ingredients. It’s getting difficult now to find them which causes a shortage in our items at times. What is your least favourite culinary trend? Too much cheese everywhere! We love cheesy sauces but not on everything!
