How would you describe your body type? I would say I have an average healthy body type, definitely not over or under weight. Has your body type changed over the last five years? I have had a gradual weight gain of almost six kilos over the past five years. My metabolic capabilities of getting away with eating junk food have most definitely plummeted. However, this gain is predominantly visible on the scales rather than to those who know me, given that it increased slowly and proportionately. How has your style changed over the years? I always try to keep up with the latest fashion trends but have maintained my classic signature style since as long as I can remember. In your opinion what is your most troublesome area? I would have to say that even the slightest bit of weight I put on shows straight away on my face and a tad bit on my arms. That’s when I know I need to watch what I eat in order to hit the brakes on piling the kilos on. How do you dress your body according to your body type? I may not be as tall as preferred so I try to avoid silhouettes that can make me look slightly stout. I usually add a pair of high heels in order to appear slimmer if I feel an outfit is making me look big or bulky. Furthermore, I avoid wearing sleeveless outfits on the days I feel bloated. In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here? Losing their originality in an attempt to duplicate someone else’s style. Which silhouettes suit your body the most? I feel that clean, crisp and well-fitted straight cuts suit me the most. What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why? Peplum tops and overalls since I do not have the height to pull them off.

Punctual or late? Usually late, hey I try but then others are usually late too. If you could have one of the following, which would you choose?: Trust or love? Trust! Tell us about your favourite book, magazine or comic? Inferno by Dan Brown. Who is someone you envy? I’ve never envied anyone. But I do admire a lot of people for a lot of things. Fresh air, greenery, and hills.

NOVEMBER 19-25 2017
Two things you’re passionate about? Politics and anything that makes me travel. The hardest thing you’ve ever had to do? Can’t say! When was the last time you lied and to whom and why? Maybe in the morning, because I was getting late for a meeting. Something you regret in life? I regret not giving myself much time. What scares you the most and why? Being left alone scares me the most and not having loved ones by my side when I’m on my death bed. If you could trade places with anyone for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be? Justin Bieber, let’s see what the fuss is all about.

THE VAULT WITH HAYA LUTFULLAH
With a degree in jewellery design and an unconventional sense of design, Haya Lutfullah unlocks her vault. She shares how her journey began as a jewellery designer and unveils her favourite pieces from her collection
How and when did you become interested in jewellery? I went to university with the intention of studying Fine Arts. It was during my pathway (art, design communication) rotation that I realised my strength lay in design. That is when I decided to pursue designing and making jewellery.
parents’ early days of courting and the simplicity of that time. The second one is a reminder of having faith in God and in my own abilities. The zircons in my ring read ‘believe’ in braille. The use of braille to write ‘believe’ is an indirect suggestion of the concept of having ‘blind faith’.
What are your favourite pieces of jewellery (precious or costume)? My all-time favourite would be one of the first pieces of jewellery my father bought my mother. It’s a dainty gold filigree ring with enamel insets. Another one of my favourite pieces would be a ring in silver and zircon.
Share a story with us about how you acquired one of your favourite pieces? I have no interesting stories to share, but something maybe a few quiet ones might be able to relate to. I would always sit with my mother and go through her jewellery. When she showed me the filigree ring, I admired it long enough for my mum to realise I wanted it, haha. Thus, it became mine. Ever since then, it has been in my possession.
Where did you get them? I claimed the first one from my mother and the second one is one of my creations. Is there any piece you are emotionally attached to and why? Both of my favourite pieces hold a lot of sentimental value. The first one is symbolic of my
Is there anything on your radar that you want to get in the future? I want to be able to get my hands on lots of copper and silver wires and sheets, so that I am able to make jewellery and share my vision with the world! NOVEMBER 19-25 2017

Junoon reunion? Pakistan’s most adored Sufi rock band Junoon might be open to an idea of a reunion, hints the band’s very own front man, Ali Azmat. Taking to his Facebook page, Ali Azmat wrote, “Who wants to see South Asia’s biggest band ‘Junoon’ reunite this year?” - the post sent fans in an utter frenzy and we can’t blame them! The band hasn’t had a reunion tour and album for the last 10 years, so this would be a real treat!
BJP leader wants ‘Padmavati’ director Bhansali to be tried for treason Padmavati director Sanjay Leela Bhansali should be tried for treason for distorting history, BJP member Arjun Gupta has urged in a letter addressed to Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Referring to Bhansali, Gupta said that he has tried to malign Rani Padmavati’s sacrifice through Padmavati. Bhansali, on the other hand, has repeatedly clarified that the film has no such scene between Rani Padmavati and invader Alauddin Khilji which can hurt sentiments. This is one film we can’t wait to watch! Oscar-winning colourist Garry Madison joins Arth Garry Madison – part of the Best Effects Academy Award and BAFTA winning team for Interstellar and ExMachine – has stepped into Pakistani cinema through Shaan’s rom-musical film Arth – the Destination. Gary ensures that this movie will revolutionise the way visuals are treated and processed for the Pakistani cinema. He said, “Yes, I’d agree that Arth is a new evolution for the Pakistani film industry, I’ve been fortunate to be able to share my experiences from the film industry to enhance what is a visually stunning film but the main credit for that leap is with the director Shaan and producer Hammad for bringing to life a modern take on life as a Pakistani.” A step in the right direction for Lollywood!

Mariah Carey accused for sexual harassment by body guard! Mariah Carey’s former security company has threatened to sue her and the reason is shocking to say the least. Michael Anello, the man who owns the security company says the singer is claiming ‘sexual harassment’. According to the security guard, who would accompany the singer everywhere, was constantly humiliated by her in public by referring to him as a Nazi, a skinhead, a KKK member and a white supremacist. But not just that he accuses her of sexual harassment too!
Lahore premiere of Mahira Khan’s ‘Verna’ cancelled It appears Shoaib Mansoor’s comeback film Verna, starring Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid, is in some serious trouble with the censors. In a shocking turn of events, the film is going through a tedious tide. Due to the non-issuing of a censor certificate by the censor board, the Verna premiere in Lahore was cancelled. The film is rumoured to be objectionable due to its ‘mature and edgy content’, which may not have sat well with the censors. Film-maker Shoaib Mansoor went into appeal with censor board for urgent relief for his film Verna. The film will be hopefully reviewed by the board and we are hoping that the full board will prevail!

Hania Amir sparks harassment claims with her snap! Hania Aamir landed herself in hot water after a Snapchat video of the starlet went viral on Twitter, where she was seen recording an unknown man on her flight to Lahore. Of course, this sparked a debate on Twitter, with people calling Hania’s snap an act of harassment. They even said that the world’s stance on the matter would have been very different given if Hania had been a man doing the same thing. “My intention was never to harass the man, since I do know how it feels to be judged on how I wear my hair, what shoes I wear. Therefore, as soon as the video was uploaded and I saw the snap, I deleted it right there. I wasn’t trying to invade his personal space or anything like that,” Hania added. The actor sparked controversy when she tried to include the unknown male passenger seated behind her in the frame of her camera. “This dude is struggling to get out of my photo,” read the caption of the snap.
