EXHIBITION “VESTIDAS”

Location: Santiago, Chile / Date: 2017 /Area: 110 m2 / Type of Collaboration: Lead designer and site architect.

Design and production for an exhibition in Casa de lo Matta. The collection shows the evolution of antique dresses of chilean aristocrat women, between the years 1810 and 1910. Dresses were sorted along a traslucid fabric, tensed from the ceiling, inspired by a crinoline structure. The fabric mutiplies the space ang creates different scenarios discovered by visiitors as they move forward. The fabric within the space makes visitors interact with the instalation, becoming part of the scenes as in a ballroom.

Worley office renovation intervention. The aim was to reflect the values of the company with sustainable design. The proposal consisted in creating different workspaces and atmospheres, making them more colaborative, more flexible and fun. Sustainable materials, flexible layouts and furnitures, and a new sustainable lightning were introduced to the project in order to achieve this goal. Also, the use of green and natural textures.

The Project consist in the renovation of the Hospital’s health centers in the regions of Chile. The aim was to rethink and redesign the spaces according to the needs of the local population. In order to ensure the right construction and right standards of health architecture, a set of parameters were stalished by the team, from the organization of the different programatic solutions to the right election of materials and ilumination.

About the cafe project: The interior was designed in order to percieve the building as a shape that is abstracting from its context. The interior facade is projected through a soleil facade, providing natural light. The seats are organized along the soleil facade, creating different kinds of atmospheres.

Vacation Home for Antiquera’s family. The house is organized in a access patio; a fire place that is directly connected with the public space of the house program. A cristal bridge connects public from private, and allows to have directionals views. Private area has a deck on the rooftop, and is the closest balcony to the sea in the area.

1RST PRIZE IN HUANCHACA RUINS CULTURAL PARK

The aim of the contest is to restore and create awareness for Huanchaca mining ruins, by creating an urban strategy and incorporating new programatic activities. This gives an opportuity to transofrm an abandoned ruins into a cultural attraction. By adding a new urban infrastructure, the ruins would be now considered as a relevant heritage monument of the city.

The restoring principles were influented by John Ruskin´s philosophy. The ruin would remain the same character of its original age, and for new structures; everything that was meant to be built above the ground level would be projected in light metal srcutures, and anything under would be projected in solid concrete walls.

Contest for the new International Antartic Center. The concept was generating a public space on the street level, interrupted by several large glazed prisms. This prisms, would function as a showcase for the museum exhibitions, and would create inside different kind of atmospheres.

In 2010 an important part of the farm production was affected by a massive earthquake. Most of the infrastructures collapsed and droughts dried plantations. Hotel Pumanque is an initiative created for primary producers in order to provide visitors with some agritourism awareness, to rebuild and be part of an agriculture production experience. The project is developed and designed with sustainable tourism concepts, and vernacular architecture construction and systems, ensuring natural and harmonious growth in time.
