Around 30 local residents attended a briefing by volunteers from the Rural Fire Service at Verrierdale on 18 November ahead of what is expected to be a difficult fire season. Key advice was to prepare now by clearing gutters and roofs and doing what you can to allow 4-6m access for fire trucks around your house. Visit: qfes.qld.gov. au.

Green tractor
Spotted being delivered on 24 November at Joe’s Waterhole site was a very cute green tractor. It’s probably going to make a bit of fun for the kids and the 'big kids'!

Kin Kin Hotel re-opens
The Kin Kin Hotel – formerly known as the Country Life Hotel – opened its doors on 29 November for the first time in nearly two years following renovations to restore it to its “former glory”.

For local residents the closure has seemed like an eternity with the length of the renovation time a major source of frustration. The opening of the front 'Drinker's Bar' will be followed in coming months with a family-friendly beer garden and a fine dining Chophouse restaurant focusing on no-waste, whole-animal butchery.
It opened as the Kin Kin Hotel in November
