COMMUNITY
Experience Eumundi strategy launch
A community meeting hosted on 30 July by Experience Eumundi communicated the organisation’s new strategy, developed during the past 6 months. Experience Eumundi is a notfor-profit organisation and manages the market car parking in Eumundi.
Experience Eumundi chairperson Louise Formosa shared the strategy with 20 attendees who represented 12 local community groups or organisations.
The highlights of the proposed strategy included:
• A new bi-annual community sponsorship program with $100,000 available in the 24/25 financial year.
• The formation of creative partnerships to promote Eumundi, making efficient use of available talent and resources.
• Hosting quarterly meetings with other local organisations to find out who’s doing what and how they can collaborate to assist others.
• Ensuring the community is kept informed by publishing achievements and goals regularly.
• Up-skilling the Experience Eumundi team and volunteers to ensure sustainability and compliance within the organisation.
• Streamlining the organisation's offerings by closing the RV stopover and supporting the
Eumundi Showgrounds RV facilities, to allow more cars to be parked efficiently.
• Exploring new infrastructure projects to enhance our local community spaces, such as an off-leash dog park, an undercover area for large events and power provided to the market terraces.

Other plans include the investigation into automation of the boom-gates at the entrances to the car parks to reduce street congestion and improve the visitor experience. Volunteers would still be required to direct vehicles within the car park.
Two car parks also require extensive upgrades. The Albert St car park is currently below flood level due to erosion. However future proposed earthworks on an adjacent planned subdivision for 19 homes in Albert St have impacted the organisation’s ability to plan improvements.
