OUT AND ABOUT

Qld’s Sunshine Pantry

As part of the Curated Plate festival, 70 regional producers showcased their wares at Qld’s Sunshine Pantry on 28 July at The Station SC. It was a great opportunity to talk to stall holders, sample local produce of all kinds and take home some amazing products for your own pantry. Local chefs, including Tom Hitchcock – Head Chef at Spirit House in Yandina and Australian Professional Chef of the Year 2023 – showed us how to make some special dishes. Just go easy on the chilli if you need to!

Noosa Alive!

Noosa Alive! has put on some great shows. Tom Gleeson of Hard Quiz fame was as irreverent as ever at The J, speaking to his ‘older demographic’ as he called us. Classical pianist Simon Tedeschi and actor John Bell AO OBE, founder of Bell Shakespeare company, teamed up and presented a show that married music and poetry. These were just two of the many performances across music, theatre and performance arts that some of us were lucky to be able to experience.

Parkyn’s Hut volunteers visit

Tewantin Heritage and Historical Society members visited Eumundi recently to get an update on some of the great things happening here in our town. This group run the awardwinning Tewantin Visitor and Information Centre known as Parkyn’s Hut.

They began their day with a tour of Eumundi Museum followed by a heritage walk, guided by museum director Joe Hextall. Parkyn’s Hut volunteers hand out Eumundi Voice each fortnight and several of the members offered very positive feedback on the magazine.

The Little Mermaid

The much-loved underwater fairy tale, The Little Mermaid, was presented by local school students at Good Shepherd Lutheran College. Brought to life with spectacular costumes, sets, song and dance, over 90 students from Yr4 to Yr7 carried the audience to a magical under-sea kingdom. It truly was an amazing display of talent and passion.
