BUSINESS NEWS

Barbertina’s new home

After 8 years at The Pavilion Eumundi, owner Tina McKay has moved Barbertina’s Barber to ‘front and centre’ on 69 Memorial Dr Eumundi (next to The Tiki Bar) and is open for business.

Although a barber is traditionally known as a place to cut and style men’s hair and beards, Tina also offers ladies’ and kids’ cuts, eyebrow waxing, brow and lash tinting and hair tinsel.

New wellness facility opens

The Imperial Hotel Boutique Accommodation (formerly known as HOLA) has recently opened a brand-new wellness facility in Eumundi. The new luxury facilities include a heated mineral pool, hot spa with jacuzzi jets, a bbq area and fire pit, as well as day beds and sun lounges.

The pub is still undergoing extensive renovations, with stage one to see an all-new front bar, gaming room and TAB. Stage 2 will include the largest kids’ games room on the Sunshine Coast and a new restaurant.

Business awards

Nominations for the 2024 Sunshine Coast Business Awards close on 26 August. The awards are in their 29th year and recognise impressive business success stories across the Sunshine Coast.

While individuals can nominate a business they think stands out, it is the business that must apply. There are 17 categories covering both small and large, new and old enterprises. Most popular sectors include: hospitality; experiences; professional services; retail; trade and services; education and training; health and wellness; and building and construction. The Export and Business of the Year awards are drawn from the winners of the categories.

Finalists will be announced on 19 September and the Awards Gala takes place on 9 November.
