The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe. The EYP consists of a network of 36 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity.
Under the umbrella organisation of the EYP International, the EYP Cyprus has as its main focus to expand the work of the organisation on the island and engage as many individuals as possible in its yearly events and conferences. EYP Cyprus has been organising events in the country since 2006 which include eight National Sessions with over 180 participants each, two Youth Summit conferences of 120 participants, four Pre-selection Procedures and numerous other training events. To date, EYP Cyprus has reached over one thousand young students from different secondary schools all over Cyprus schools (both public and private). Following the 1st Youth Summit’s outstanding success with 53 Cypriot delegates and 18 national and international officials, this year we aim to give even more young people the EYP experience by organising the 2nd Youth Summit of EYP Cyprus. EYP Cyprus's Youth Summit targets young Cypriot residents aged 18 - 23 who did not have the opportunity to take part in EYP during their time in school. It is a unique experience for students and young professionals to participate in full EYP activities and be integrated into the network of EYP Cyprus. The 2nd Youth Summit of EYP Cyprus will take place from 24th-26th July 2015, in Nicosia. The Session will last three days and will host 90 participants, including officials from various European countries.

The 2nd Youth Summit provides the youth of Cyprus with a unique platform where they can immerse themselves in discussions on European matters that concern them and our society. As such, they cultivate democratic values and become active citizens who can confidently voice their opinions. In critical times, young professionals are those who can bring innovative ideas to overcome the current stalemate and they are the ones to lead the society of tomorrow with their vision. Through the 2nd Youth Summit, participants have the opportunity to express themselves towards decision makers, leading the way to resolving old conflicts.
Therefore, we would kindly like to ask for your assistance in informing potential candidates of this unique event by forwarding the documents attached to this letter to your Organisation’s members who are eligible to apply for the event. We would also greatly appreciate if you could contribute towards the promotion of the event through social media, namely, through sharing of posts and updates from the Facebook Page of the 2nd Youth Summit of EYP Cyprus.
