Call for Partners – Garden of Europe Youth Exchange, August 2015 Project Name: “Garden of Europe”.

Location: Ampoita.

Project duration: 8 days (15-23 August 2015).

Number of participants: 6 participants+1 group leader/country.

Aim of the project: promoting a healthy lifestyle based on sustainability principles, among youth.

Methods: mainly outdoor non-formal methods.

Partner profile: -experience in projects related to health issues among youth; -interest in develop further actions designed for youngsters health improvement; -integrate youth with few opportunities in the project; -wish to help in “Garden of Europe” project management and results dissemination.

Project summary Garden of Europe is a youth exchange with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle based on sustainability principles, among youth.

Some of the specific objectives of this youth exchange are: to increase youth responsibilisation regarding the importance of an equilibrated nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, to raise the participants awareness regarding resources conservation and to provide a valuable intercultural learning experience among youth.

Some of the activities held will be: Global village, Sport is fun!, Acting local in global issues, Gardening in Europe, Green alternatives etc. Outdoor non-formal approach will be the main method used in project’s activity.

Project will include 6 participants+1 group leader/country, aged 18-26 years old.

Youth involvement in local community will be assessed by specific activities, like a promotion event in the project location, youth participation in the daily life of the local community etc.

By participating in “Garden of Europe” project, youngsters will learn how to become healthier, how to contribute to sustainable development of their community, and also, how to work in multicultural teams and to take initiative .

The project is hosted by Support for Youth Development Association and will take place in Ampoita village, in Alba County.

About us: Support 4 Youth Development Association, from Cluj-Napoca is an NGO aiming to support youngsters from the local community in terms of gaining the access to alternative ways of education, information, resources and opportunities. Besides this S4YD initiates an alternative way of developing skills and abilities that will provide youngsters with a clearer path for professional and personal growth.

As an active NGO we would like in the future to build up a center for informing, counseling and forming young people, that focuses mainly on activities based on community interaction and alternative education. Thereby the project focuses of the themes of youth information and active and civic involvement and comes to support these issues especially among the young students or graduates, as well as propose alternative ways for them to gaining practical life experience.
