Job description The nature of the post will be to work as part of the staff team to deliver the objectives in the Eurodesk work plan with time divided between both the technological and research areas of the information work. This will involve primarily the implementation of web based information solutions; related research and updating of EU programme and policy information and the provision of web based training materials. In addition, we require that the person in post be capable of developing particular projects or areas of expertise within the work of Brussels Link (e.g. youth policy information, training materials development, project management, etc.). The job is based within the offices of Eurodesk AISBL: Eurodesk Brussels Link, Rond-Point Schuman, 6, 1040 Brussels.

Ensuring the overall administration, maintenance and security of Eurodesk's IT infrastructure (hardware, systems, software, and services) Supporting the overall coordination of the European Youth Portal and Eurodesk’s tasks in the process in close cooperation with the European Commission Providing assistance, training and guidance to Eurodesk partners regarding the network’s task towards the European Youth Portal Updating, maintaining and developing new services from the information existing in the Eurodesk network. Liaising with external maintenance service providers (e.g. for First Class server) Creation of training documents and resources and implementation of training modules. Implementing web based information solutions for the Eurodesk network; Management of projects (as appropriate). Overall coordination for the web analytics for the various online tools. Performing routine audits of systems and software, back-ups and recovery Participating in network activities and stakeholder meetings (with occasional travel) Supporting other aspects of Eurodesk Brussels Link’s daily work as required
Desired Skills and Experience Eurodesk AISBL is seeking a person with skills, characteristics or profile from the following range: • • • •

University graduate ideally in Librarianship and information science otherwise Information management qualifications; Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a field related to information management; Knowledge of, or an interest in developing information services concerning European information; Thorough understanding of technical aspects of web and digital communications functionality, and proficiency in content management systems, e.g. Drupal and writing specifications for further tools development. Some technical knowledge of Windows, MacOS, Barracuda, MySQL, FirstClass, Microsoft Office. Ability to give attention to detail in the work; Very good command of English and working knowledge of at least one other official EU language. Ability to take the initiative and work independently when required; Experience of project management. An interest in, or previous experience in the youth information field (EU Youth policy and European programs for young people.
