GROUP EVS PROJECT: »There's a World Outside Your Window«

»There's a World Outside Your Window« will be a group EVS project which will gather 12 young European volunteers in Slovenia who will be responsible for the preparation and execution of a mobility promotional campaign, based on the promotion of youth work, youth organisations, youth centres and youth centres with hostels, as well as youth participation. The group of EVS volunteers will on innovative ways promote the activities of Erasmus + Youth in Action programme and youth work.

Project will be held from 4th May till 3rd June 2015.

Work process The participants of this group EVS will spend their first two weeks in two locations, both youth centres hostels, where the whole programme of their EVS will be presented and explained, along with the concepts of youth work in Slovenia and around Europe, Erasmus+ Youth in Action and the promotional tools used in the process. In the second week our participants will then work as a team and create promotional activities, that will then be implemented in different youth centres with hostels throughout Slovenia during the project. In each town that holds a location of one of the youth hostels will also hold at least one activity for the general public, the same will happen in at least ten other youth centres throughout Slovenia. We will visit the older generations of students at high schools and present the concept of mobility of young people with the help of different innovative activities, which will also be held outdoors. The entire group EVS and its activities will be held in the English language, consequently the participants will gain competence and communication skills in said language. With active participation the participants will explore new communicational tools for promotional purposes of these activities in relation to different target groups (youth aged between the years of 15 to 29, parents, teachers and youth workers).

Project objectives: - the preparation of a promotional plan and its realisation for the purpose of the promotion of youth centres with hostels, youth work, youth organisations, EVS, youth exchanges, training courses promotion of active participation of young people, - a visit and implementing activities to 10 youth centres with hostels and a minimum of 10 youth centres, which are closest to the youth centers with hostels, - the execution of at least 1 activity for the general public in each youth centre hostel (different outdoor and/or evening events), - the execution of at least 1 activity at high schools for 2 last generations of students.

Timeline: 1st week: Getting to know each other, schedule presentation, the presentation of youth work, Youth Network MaMa, getting to know the organisations and the communicational tools.

2nd week: The preparation of activities, the planning of these activities, the preparation of a screenplay for the video and the outdoor events, workshops for students and the general EVS recognizability increase.

3rd – 7th week: The execution of promotional activities 20 days of the execution of promotional activities.

8th week: Editing of the video/photo and writing material, evaluation.

- All activities will also be followed by evaluations on daily meetings on a regular basis.

Obtained knowledge: 1. The development of knowledge and experiences of the volunteers, while obtaining nonformal competence, 2. the realization of a campaign and promotional activities for youth centres, youth work and youth organisations, 3. obtaining organizational and executorial project skills, 4. obtaining communicational skills in the English language, 5. obtaining skills in the field of communicational and promotional tools (Facebook, Twitter, the formation of invitations and other content, video production and events), 6. the organisation of events for key target groups.

The sought for criteria and profiles Different profiles are sought for the successful collaboration in this particular group EVS project.

The collaboration applications for this project, which will be executed in Slovenia, will be accepted till February 2105, as the project will held it’s place in May and June of 2015. The number of candidates is limited to 12 participants from 6 different countries. The project will prioritize in including youth with fewer opportunities, especially the unemployed youth, to whom various learning opportunities will be offered through the project. We will give to our EVS volunteers the support and empower them to improve their employment or self-employment options and come back home with new knowledge and motivation.

We are searching for candidates, that would be willing to accept short-term work and accommodation in Slovenia, are interested in the field of youth work, journalism, public relations, audio/video production, visual design, as well as organisation and coordination of field activities.

Volunteer tasks 1. Team meetings and assistance in the preparation of the programme, 2. Assistance and participation during the preparation and realization of the events, 3. Preparation of flyers, posters and other materials (the design of info- and promo- materials) for the events, 4. Promotional material handouts on the street, at schools and universities etc., 5. The preparation of articles for local newspapers and magazines, 6. Video material production, 7. Facebook page management with a priority of informing the general public.
