Τν Eurodesk Κύπξνπ μεθηλά ηε λέα ρξνληά πξνσζώληαο κελύκαηα απνδνρήο θαη θνηλσληθήο ελζσκάησζεο. Η Κνηλσληθή Δλζσκάησζε είλαη έλαο από ηνπο νθηώ ππιώλεο ηεο Σηξαηεγηθήο ηεο Δπξσπατθήο Έλσζεο γηα ηελ Νενιαία. Κύξηνο ζηόρνο ηνπ ζπγθεθξηκέλνπ ππιώλα είλαη ε δηακόξθσζε κίαο θνηλσλίαο αιιεινθαηαλόεζεο θαη ίζσλ επθαηξηώλ γηα όινπο ηνπο πνιίηεο αλεμαξηήησο νπνηνπδήπνηε είδνπο δηαθνξεηηθόηεηαο όπσο θαηαγσγή, γιώζζα, ζξεζθεία, ρξώκα, θύιν, ζεμνπαιηθόο πξνζαλαηνιηζκόο, αλαπεξίεο θηι. Η Δπξσπατθή Έλσζε δίδεη ηδηαίηεξε έκθαζε ζηελ θαηαπνιέκεζε ηεο θηώρεηαο, κία από ηηο θύξηεο αηηίεο θνηλσληθνύ απνθιεηζκνύ. Αμίδεη λα αλαθεξζεί όηη ην 2010 ήηαλ ην Δπξσπατθό Έηνο Καηαπνιέκεζεο ηεο Φηώρεηαο θαη ηνπ Κνηλσληθνύ Απνθιεηζκνύ.

The Eurodesk Cyprus, starts the New Year, spreading messages of acceptance and social inclusion. The Social Inclusion is one of the fields of the EU Youth Strategy.

The main objective of the field is the establishment of an understanding society with equal opportunities for all the citizens regardless of any kind of diversity, such as, origin, language, religion, skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities etc. The European Union focuses on combating poverty, one of the main causes of exclusion. It should be mentioned that the 2010 was the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.

΢ρνιή Σπθιώλ “Άγηνο Βαξλάβαο”: ΢πλέληεπμε από ην δηεπζπληή-Μέξνο Α Σηα πιαίζηα ηοσ αθηερώκαηος γηα ηελ Κοηλωληθή Δλζωκάηωζε, ηο Eurodesk Κύπροσ είτε κία ελδηαθέροσζα ζσδήηεζε κε ηο Γηεσζσληή ηες Στοιής Τσθιώλ “Άγηος Βαρλάβας”, θο Αλδρέα Χαπούπε ζτεηηθά κε ηης προθιήζεης ποσ αληηκεηωπίδοσλ ηα άηοκα κε οπηηθή αλαπερία (ΟΑ). Κύξηε Υαπνύπε πξώηα ζα ζέιακε λα καο κηιήζεηε ιίγν γηα ηνλ εαπηό ζαο; Γελλήζεθα ην 1950, άξρηζα λα έρσ απώιεηα ηεο όξαζεο κνπ ιόγσ δηαθόξσλ αηπρεκάησλ. Σηελ ειηθία ησλ 17 ρξνλώλ ήκνπλ ζρεδόλ ηπθιόο θαη ζηα 27 είρα νιηθή απώιεηα όξαζεο. Φνίηεζα ζην δεκνηηθό ζρνιείν ηνπ Κάησ Βαξσζίνπ, αθνινύζσο ζηελ Σρνιή Τπθιώλ, κεηά ζην Λύθεην Αξξέλσλ Κύθθνπ θαη κεηά πήγα ζηελ Αζήλα γηα ζπνπδέο. Έρσ ζπνπδάζεη Φηινινγία, Ιζηνξία θαη Ννκηθά. Τν 1976 δηνξίζηεθα θαζεγεηήο ζηε Σρνιή Τπθιώλ. Δξγάζηεθα ζην Λύθεην Αθξνπόιεσο θαη ζην Υπνπξγείν Παηδείαο. Τν 2000 ππεξέηεζα σο βνεζόο δηεπζπληήο ζηε Σρνιή Τπθιώλ θαη από ην 2003 είκαη δηεπζπληήο ηεο Σρνιήο Τπθιώλ. Μνπ αξέζεη πάξα πνιύ ην πνδόζθαηξν, αθνινπζώ ηελ νκάδα κνπ ζην γήπεδν, έηζη ην 1997 ε "Έλσζε Αζιεηηθνγξάθσλ Κύπξνπ" κνπ είρε απνλείκεη ην βξαβείν "Καιύηεξνο Κύπξηνο Φίιαζινο" θαη ην 1999 ε "UEFA" κνπ είρε απνλείκεη ην βξαβείν "Καιύηεξνο Δπξσπαίνο Φίιαζινο". Μπνξείηε λα καο πείηε ιίγα ιόγηα γηα ηε ΢ρνιή Σπθιώλ; (έηνο ίδξπζεο, δξαζηεξηόηεηεο, θηι) Η Σρνιή Τπθιώλ είλαη ην κνλαδηθό εθπαηδεπηηθό ίδξπκα γηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ ζηελ Κύπξν. Ιδξύζεθε ην 1929 θαη απνηέιεζε νξόζεκν ζην ηνκέα ηεο εηδηθήο εθπαίδεπζεο ζηελ Κύπξν θαη ηδίσο γηα ηελ εθπαίδεπζε ησλ αηόκσλ κε ΟΑ. Από ην 1960, ε Σρνιή Τπθιώλ αλαβαζκίδεηαη θαη θαζηεξώλεηαη σο έλα δεκόζην ζρνιείν. Σήκεξα, επηπιένλ κε ην Νεπηαγσγείν, ηελ Πξνδεκνηηθή θαη ηε Γεκνηηθή εθπαίδεπζε ιεηηνπξγεί θαη ζαλ Κέληξν Δθπαίδεπζεο θαη Απνθαηάζηαζεο Τπθιώλ όισλ ησλ ειηθηώλ. Σηόρνο είλαη ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ λα απνθηήζνπλ θάπνηεο δεμηόηεηεο γηα αλεμάξηεηε δηαθίλεζε θαη πξόζβαζε ζην γξαπηό ιόγν. Δλδεηθηηθά πξνζθέξνληαη 15 πξνγξάκκαηα θαηάξηηζεο θαη απόθηεζεο δεμηνηήησλ. Μπνξείηε λα βξείηε πιεξνθνξίεο γηα ηα πξνγξάκκαηα ζηελ ηζηνζειίδα ηεο Σρνιήο. Πώο είλαη ε θαζεκεξηλόηεηα ελόο αηόκνπ κε ΟΑ, δειαδή, πώο θέξλεη εηο πέξαο ηηο αξκνδηόηεηεο ηνπ; (κεηαθίλεζε, λνηθνθπξηό, ειεθηξνληθόο ππνινγηζηήο, εξγαζία, αλαηξνθή ηωλ παηδηώλ) Σρεηηθά κε ηε κεηαθίλεζε κνπ εγώ πξνζσπηθά έρσ νδεγό. Κάπνηεο θνξέο εάλ ζέισ λα πάσ θάπνπ κπνξεί λα θαιέζσ ηαμί, κόιηο θζάζεη ην ηαμί, ν νδεγόο ηνπ ηαμί αθνπκπάεη ηνλ ώκν κνπ θαη κνπ ιέεη όηη ην ηαμί πνπ θάιεζα κόιηο έρεη έξζεη. Με ην λνηθνθπξηό ηα πάσ πνιύ θαιά, καγεηξεύσ, όηαλ ήηαλ κηθξά ηα παηδηά κνπ ηνπο έβξαδα αβγό θαη ηνπο έθαλα αθόκε θαη ζάληνπηηο γηα ην ζρνιείν. Ο θνύξλνο καο ιεηηνπξγεί κε ηέηνην ηξόπν έηζη κπνξώ λα αληηιεθζώ εάλ έρεη ςεζεί ην θαγεηό. Τα άηνκα κε ΟΑ κπνξνύλ λα ρξεζηκνπνηνύλ εηδηθά δηακνξθσκέλνπο Ηιεθηξνληθνύο Υπνινγηζηέο νη νπνίνη πεξηέρνπλ ζύζηεκα ζπλζεηηθήο θσλήο θαη νζόλε Braille.

΢ρνιή Σπθιώλ “Άγηνο Βαξλάβαο”: ΢πλέληεπμε από ηνλ δηεπζπληή-Μέξνο Β

Πηζηεύεηε όηη ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ έρνπλ ηηο ίδηεο επθαηξίεο κε ηνπο ππόινηπνπο; Απηή ηε ζηηγκή, ιόγσ ηεο λνκνζεζίαο, πξέπεη λα ππάξρεη πνζόζησζε 10% γηα άηνκα κε αλαπεξίεο ηόζν ζηε Γεκόζηα Υπεξεζία όζν θαη ζηελ εθπαίδεπζε. Μ' απηό ηνλ ηξόπν δίλνληαη επθαηξίεο θαη ζε άηνκα κε ΟΑ λα εληαρζνύλ ζηελ αγνξά εξγαζίαο. Αθόκε, ζε ππεξεζίεο όπνπ ρξεηάδνληαη ηειεθσλεηέο δίλεηαη πξνηεξαηόηεηα ζε ηπθινύο. Σηνλ ηνκέα ηεο εθπαίδεπζεο ππάξρεη ζηήξημε ησλ ηπθιώλ καζεηώλ νη νπνίνη θνηηνύλ ζε ζρνιεία Μέζεο Δθπαίδεπζεο από εηδηθνύο ιεηηνπξγνύο ηεο Σρνιήο Τπθιώλ. Όζνλ αθνξά ζηελ αλώηαηε εθπαίδεπζε, ππάξρνπλ βηβιία ζηε κνξθή Braille θαζώο επίζεο θαη θσλεηηθά βηβιία. Πνηα θαηά ηελ γλώκε ζαο, είλαη ηα θαηάιιεια κέζα επαηζζεηνπνίεζεο ηνπ θνηλνύ ζρεηηθά κε ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ; Δίκαη ζύκθσλνο ζρεηηθά κε ηελ πξνζέγγηζε γηα δηαξθή δηαθώηηζε ηνπ θνηλνύ αιιά ζα πξόηεηλα ηε ζπλερή εθπαίδεπζε ησλ αηόκσλ κε ΟΑ, θαη ηδίσο ησλ λέσλ νύησο ώζηε ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ λα είλαη ζε ζέζε λα εθπαηδεύζνπλ θαη ην ππόινηπν θνηλσληθό ζύλνιν ζρεηηθά κε ηηο αλάγθεο ηνπ. Πξέπεη λα μέξεηο όηη ε θνηλσλία εθπαηδεύεηαη ζηγά-ζηγά. Πώο θξίλεηε ηελ πνιηηηθή ηεο ΔΔ όζν αθνξά ηα άηνκα κε πξνβιήκαηα όξαζεο; Η ΔΔ πξνσζεί πνιηηηθέο ζρεηηθά κε ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ όζνλ αθνξά ζηελ επαγγεικαηηθή θαη εθπαηδεπηηθή απνθαηάζηαζε ησλ αηόκσλ κε ΟΑ. Δκείο εδώ ζηελ Κύπξν πξνζπαζνύκε λα ηηο αθνινπζνύκε θαη λα ηηο πξνσζνύκε. Κάζε ρξόλν ε "Παγθύπξηα Οκνζπνλδία Τπθιώλ" θηινμελεί 3-4 εζεινληέο από ην εμσηεξηθό ζηα πιαίζηα ηεο Δπξσπατθήο Δζεινληηθήο Υπεξεζίαο, κάιηζηα έλα από απηά έρνπλ ζπκπεξηιεθζεί κέζα ζηα 10 θαιύηεξα projects ζηελ Δπξώπε. Τπάξρεη θάπνην Κέληξν Νεόηεηαο αηόκωλ κε ΟΑ; Όρη ιόγσ ηνπ κηθξνύ αξηζκνύ αηόκσλ κε ΟΑ. Αθόκε, ηα άηνκα κε ΟΑ είλαη δηαζθνξπηζκέλνη ζ' νιόθιεξν ην λεζί κε απνηέιεζκα λα είλαη πξαθηηθά δύζθνιε ε ιεηηνπξγία ελόο Κέληξνπ Νεόηεηαο. Saint Barnabas School for the Blind: Interview from the Director-Part A The Eurodesk Cyprus had an interesting conversation with the Headmaster of "Saint Varnavas" School for Blinds, Mr Andreas Chapoupis, about the people with Visual Impairment (VI) and the challenges they face.

Mr Chapoupis, firstly we would like to tell us something about you?

I was born on 1950,I was loosing my vision gradually due to some accidents, at the age of 17 years old I was almost blind and at the age of 27 I became blind. I attended the primary school of Kato Varosiou, then the School for Blinds, then the Kykkos school for boys and finally I continued my studies in the university, in Athens. I studied Greek Language, History and Law. In 1976 I started working as a teacher in the School for Blinds. I also worked in Acropolis Lyceum and in the Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2000 I worked as a headmaster assistant in the School for Blinds, since 2003 I am the headmaster of the School for Blinds. I like football very much and I go to football matches. As a result, in 1997,the "Association of Sport Journalists Cyprus" gave me the award of the "Best Football fun" and in 1999 the UEFA awarded me as the "European Football Fun".

Could you please tell us something about the School for Blinds (foundation, activities, etc) The School for Blinds is the only educational institution for people with VI in Cyprus. It was founded in 1929 and it can be characterized as a landmark in the field of special education in Cyprus, especially for people with VI. Since 1960, the School for Blinds has been established as a public educational institution. Today, together with the Kindergarten and the Primary Education the School for Blinds is working as a Center of Education and Rehabilitation for all the ages. The objective is, the people with VI to acquire some skills that are going to facilitate their mobility and their access to the written texts, they are offered 15 training programmes. How is the everyday life of a person with VI, how does he cope with his/her responsibilities; (mobility, household, computer, work, family) Concerning my mobility, personally I have a driver. Sometimes, when I want to go somewhere I call a taxi, when the taxi arrives, the taxi driver touches my shoulder telling me that the taxi has just arrived. I am very good at cooking, when my children were little I used to boil them eggs and also prepare their sandwich for school. Our oven has a system that helps me to understand that the food has been cooked. People with VI may use special designed computers with speech and screen reading system, some of the computer have a Braille screen.

Saint Barnabas School for the Blind: Interview from the Director-Part B Do you believe that people with VI have as many opportunities as the rest of the society?

Now, because of the legislative regulation, there must be a percentage of 10% of people with disabilities working in the Public Administration and in the education, as a result, people with VI may integrate in the labour market. Moreover, for services that need telephonists blind people have a priority. For blind secondary education students the School for the Blind offers supporting services. Concerning the higher education, there are books in Braille system and books that use a speech system.

According to you, which are the most appropriate ways to raise awareness about people with VI? I agree with the continual efforts that aim to raise awareness, but I would suggest that the people with VI, especially the young people, should have continuous training in order to be able to inform the whole society about their needs. You should have in mind, that the society changes step by step.

What do you think about the EU police for people with VI? The EU promotes policies for people with VI about their access in education and the labour market, in Cyprus we are trying to follow and promote them. Every year the "Pancyprian Organisation of the Blind" hosts 3-4 EVS volunteers. It should be mentioned that one of them was included within the 10 best projects in Europe.

In Cyprus, is there a Youth Club for people with VI? Unfortunately, there is not a Youth Club for people with VI because of the small number of people with VI. There are also some practical difficulties due to the fact that people with VI live in different cities.

Καηά ηελ δηάξθεηα ηεο εκεξίδαο πξαγκαηνπνηήζεθαλ δηαδξαζηηθά εξγαζηήξηα κε θύξηεο ζεκαηηθέο ηελ πεξηζσξηνπνίεζε θαη εμεύξεζε ηξόπσλ αληηκεηώπηζεο ηεο θαη ν ζπλππνινγηζκόο ησλ αηόκσλ κε ιηγόηεξεο επθαηξίεο ζην ζρνιηθό θαη ζην επξύηεξν θνηλσληθό ζύλνιν. Δπηπιένλ, ηόζν νη εθπαηδεπηηθνί όζν θαη νη καζεηέο ελεκεξώζεθαλ γηα ην πξόγξακκα “Νέα Γεληά ζε Γξάζε” θαη ηηο επθαηξίεο άηππεο θαη κε-ηππηθήο κάζεζεο ζηελ Δπξώπε.

Good Practices at a local level (1) Training Workshop on "Marginalization and Inclusion of Young People with Fewer Opportunities" It was organized by the National Agency of the “Youth in Action Programme” and the Pool of Trainers of the Cyprus Youth Council. In the workshop participated students and teachers of secondary education from all around Cyprus. The main activities of the day were interactive workshop with the following themes, marginalization and find ways to face it and the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities in the school and generally in the social environment. Moreover, teachers and students got informed about the “Youth in Action Programme” and opportunities in the fields of informal and non-formal education in Europe.

Βηωκαηηθό εξγαζηήξην θαη παξνπζίαζε ηνπ εγρεηξηδίνπ Eurogames Ο Κππξηαθόο Οξγαληζκόο Κέληξσλ Νεόηεηαο (ΚΟΚΔΝ) θαη ην YEU International, ζηα πιαίζηα ηεο δξάζεο 4.6 (Σπκπξάμεηο) ηνπ Πξνγξάκκαηνο “Νέα Γεληά ζε Γξάζε” πινπνίεζε ην ζεκηλάξην “Eurogames 2010 Launching Seminar in Cyprus”.Σθνπόο ηεο εθδήισζεο ήηαλ ε επαηζζεηνπνίεζε ησλ λέσλ θαη γεληθά ηνπ επξύηεξνπ θνηλσληθνύ ζπλόινπ ζρεηηθά κε ηελ θνηλσληθή ελζσκάησζε ησλ αηόκσλ κε αλαπεξίεο κέζσ βησκαηηθώλ εξγαζηεξίσλ θαη άιισλ δξαζηεξηνηήησλ. Οη ζπκκεηέρνληεο πξνέξρνληαλ από νξγαλώζεηο λενιαίαο θαη νξγαλώζεηο νη νπνίεο δξαζηεξηνπνηνύληαη ζηνλ ηνκέα ησλ αηόκσλ κε αλαπεξίεο. Youth in Action Programme

Workshop and presentation of the Eurogames toolkit The Cyprus Youth Clubs Organization and the YEU International implemented the seminar "Eurogames 2010 Launching Seminar in Cyprus", in the framework of the action 4.6 (Partnership) of the Youth in Action Programme. The aim of the seminar was to raise the awareness of young people and the whole society about the social inclusion of people with disabilities through workshops and other activities. The participants belonged to youth organizations and organization that are active in the field of people with disabilities. Θέαηξν ηωλ Καηαπηεζκέλωλ (ΘηΚ) :είλαη έλαο ηξόπνο αλάπηπμεο δεκόζηνπ δηαιόγνπ κε θύξηα ζεκαηηθή θάπνην θνηλσληθό πξόβιεκα. Καηά ηε δηάξθεηα ηνπ ΘηΚ ζεαηέο θαη εζνπνηνί γίλνληαη “έλα” .Μπξνζηά ζηα κάηηα ησλ ζεαηώλ εθηπιίζζεηαη κία ζεαηξηθή πξάμε 5-10 ιεπηώλ κε ζεκαηηθή έλα θνηλσληθό ζέκα. Οη ηξεηο θύξηνη ραξαθηήξεο είλαη ν θαηαπηεδόκελνο, ν νπδέηεξνο θαη ν θαηαπηεζηήο. Μεηά, νη ζεαηέο θαινύληαη λα αιιάμνπλ ηελ εμέιημε ηεο ηζηνξίαο ρσξίο λα κπνξνύλ λα αιιάμνπλ ηελ ζπκπεξηθνξά ηνπ θαηαπηεζηή ή λα εηζεγεζνύλ κε εθηθηέο ιύζεηο. Με απηό ηνλ ηξόπν αλαπηύζζεηαη έλα είδνπο δηαιόγνπ θαη ην θνηλό πξνηείλεη θάπνηεο πηζαλέο ιύζεηο ζην ζπγθεθξηκέλν θνηλσληθό πξόβιεκα. Αμίδεη λα ζεκεησζεί όηη ζην ΘηΚ δελ ρξεηάδνληαη επαγγεικαηίεο εζνπνηνί. Ο Αλγθνύζην Μπνάι, ν ζεκειησηήο ηνπ ΘηΚ είπε όηη «ο θαζέλας από εκάς κπορεί λα είλαη εζοποηός», επνκέλσο εάλ θάπνηνο ζέιεη λα ζπκκεηάζρεη σο εζνπνηόο ζε κία παξάζηαζε ΘηΚ δελ είλαη αλαγθαίν λα είλαη επαγγεικαηίαο εζνπνηόο. Έηζη, ζηηο 12 Μαξηίνπ 2011, ζηα πιαίζηα ηεο Δπξσπατθήο Ηκέξαο Γηαθνξεηηθόηεηαο, ε Οκάδα Δθπαηδεπηώλ ηνπ Σπκβνπιίνπ Νενιαίαο Κύπξνπ, έπαημε δύν ζεαηξηθά κε ζέκα ηελ θνηλσληθή ελζσκάησζε αηόκσλ κε αλαπεξίεο θαη κεηαλαζηώλ ζηελ εθπαίδεπζε. Τν θνηλό, αληαπνθξίζεθε άκεζα ζην θάιεζκα ησλ «εζνπνηώλ» γηα δηάινγν κε απνηέιεζκα, ηόζν νη ζεαηέο όζν θαη νη εζνπνηνί λα θαηαρεηξνθξνηεζνύλ. Η εθδήισζε έιαβε ρώξα ζην Παλεπηζηήκην Λεπθσζίαο.

Good Practices at a local level (3) The actors of the play

The actor of the play interacting with the

Theatre of the Oppressed (TO): a way to raise a public discussion about a social problem. During a TO performance audience and actors become "one". In front of the audience, a theatrical play of 5-10 minutes is performed and the theme of the play is a social issue. The main three characters are the oppressed, the neutral and the oppressor. Then, the audience is called to change the story without being able to change the behavior of the oppressor or to suggest infeasible solutions. As a result, a kind of a dialogue is developed and the public suggests some possible solutions about the certain problem. It should be mentioned that according to Augusto Boal, the founder of the TO, "each one can be an actor" so, it is not necessary to be an actor if someone wants to participate in a TO performance .

Consequently, on 12 March 2011,in the framework of the European Diversity Day, the Pool of Trainers of the Cyprus Youth Council performed two theatrical plays. The topic of the plays was the social inclusion of people with disabilities and immigrants in the education. The audience responded immediately to the call of "actors" for discussion, so, both the audience and the actors received a loud applause.

Σηελ αληίζηνηρε ηζηνζειίδα ππάξρνπλ δηαζέζηκα ηα εγρεηξίδηα „‟Tkits‟‟(training kits) γηα δηάθνξεο ζεκαηηθέο. Τελ επηκέιεηα ησλ εγρεηξηδίσλ έρνπλ έκπεηξνη εθπαηδεπηέο λενιαίαο. Τν εγρεηξίδην γηα ηελ θνηλσληθή ελζσκάησζε είλαη ην “Social Inclusion Tkit 8” SALTO and Inclusion:Φξήζηκα εγρεηξίδηα γηα άηνκα ηα νπνία αζρνινύληαη κε λένπο κε ιηγόηεξεο επθαηξίεο ζε δηεζλέο επίπεδν.
