When and where? Mark your calendar for the 11th Special Arts Festival: 02-06, July, 2015. (Thursday - Monday) Váci Mihály Cultural Centre, Nyíregyháza, Hungary
Who can attend the festival? The festival is a great event where intellectually disabled artists and audiences can join together to support their love to special arts. Intellectually disabled groups and individuals that register for the festival can present their performances on stage in all genres (singing, acting, playing music...etc). Each organization will have about maximum 20-25 minutes for performing on stage. It is possible for the participating individuals or groups to perform in more than one field of art. The helpers/ instructors may also take part in the performance.
Festival program (in a nutshell):
Theatrical performances The participants of the festival perform on the stage of the theatre between 9.0017.00 everyday
Open-air performances The public can see the best performances of the day on the outdoor stage between 17.00-19.00
Exhibitions Exhibition of art works produced by disabled artists, special film screenings, photo exhibitions and special installations throughout the event
Chill out Evening entertainments for the participants each day: concerts, dance events, incentive parties, nightlife...
Costs for participants: The Association operates a European network of special arts workshops. The costs for participants differ whether the participants or the institution of the participants are the members of this network or not. Member is the one who joint before and pays the membership fee for the year of 2015 (200 EUR) till 30 April. The registration fee for the festival is 100 EUR/group. The members of the network do not have to pay registration fee and they get 10 EUR/person/day discount from the following price:

The total costs of the festival for the 4 days are 260 EUR, but for member groups this price is 220 EUR (these expenditures include the festival services - accommodation, meals, programme fee). The participants will be accommodated in the hotel in two-bedded rooms. Single room costs 60 EUR. The traveling expenses must be met by the participants. If you arrive by plane and you would like to have transfer from Budapest Airport to the venue of the festival and back, you must also calculate with an approximately 50-100 EUR/person transfer cost, depending on the size of the group.
