WELCOME WELCOME WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello! I am absolutely delighted to be included in this booklet. Hopefully you and I will get cracking on Antwerp 2021 very soon indeed, but until that time, these words will serve as a cursory glance at what we want to achieve with this session. Especially
in
these
times
of
globally
normalised confinement, it can be very easy to fall into the belief that there are hard limits
on
what
we
can
achieve.
With
Antwerp 2021, we seek to challenge that by providing a space for all participants to challenge those preconceived limitations. We believe that the best way to do this is to create an environment in which participants are
encouraged
to
try
new
things,
discovering new things about the depth of their

the
process.
To
paraphrase André Gide, one cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. This is one of the key principles that guides my interpretation of the event vision of ‘Pushing Limits: Discovering all boundaries’.
If this is something that appeals to you, why not apply to join our humble Officials’ team? I am also firmly of the belief that a good Officials’ team is like a good soup, and with this in mind, I hope that you will apply because you are unafraid to add your own spice when interpreting the vision for the event. Moreover, I hope you will apply because you are interested in learning something new; where better to lose sight of
the
shore
than
in
the
maritime
powerhouse of Belgium? Finally, I hope you will apply because you want to have fun; after all, these things are fun, and fun is good. See you in Antwerp, Matthew Caine (UK)

ANTWERP SESSION VISION PUSHING LIMITS: DISCOVERING ALL BOUNDARIES
With this session, we want to provide a space
in
which
all
participants
can
challenge their pre-conceived limitations. This is something that can be aspired to by all who take part in Antwerp 2021, whether they be officials trying out new methods, leadership building on interesting formats, or delegates voicing their opinion for the first time. With this vision document, we hope to offer a comprehensive overview of what

guiding These
principles will in short help to provide direction for us to structure the session. Thus, the theme of the 2021 National Session of EYP Belgium will be “Pushing Limits: discovering all boundaries”. “Pushing Limits” has a two-fold meaning: not

environment in which delegates are able to challenge themselves, but we also seek to push the limits of the standard EYP event format that all of us will be familiar with. EYP Belgium has an exceptional track record regarding the latter, with its innovative Media

team.
Although the details of the cooperation between respective teams and the specific role of the editor will be developed once the entire leadership has been formed, we hope to have an event of which the ownership lies fully in the hands of the Media Team. Working with a flat leadership there should be mutual trust and open communication at all times. We fully endorse applications of co-editors.

One key attribute that we are looking for in our VPs is confidence. With Antwerp 2021, we will be looking to implement a ‘flat hierarchy’ style of leadership for the Board. As a result, we will have equal decision makers across the board, allowing us to put our heads together to devise solutions to complex problems. As a result, successful VP applicants will be confident enough to propose solutions to the problems that will no

With this in mind, I want them to be assured in the knowledge that they have a safety net; you and I, dear reader! However, this does not necessarily

VISION FOR CORE ORGANISERS
If this sounds like you, why not write up an application? I’d be delighted to work with you, and I’m sure we’d have great fun. I hope to read an application from you soon.
The Core Team of Antwerp 2021 will be given the opportunity to have input into the vision and the session, as well as have ownership
over
the
session.
In
the
beginning, the core team will primarily focus on the bigger tasks, e.g.: fundraising and venues. Once the entire orga team is in effect. We want to give the core-organisers a delegating task. The structure and the workload of the team will be handled differently than the average Belgian sessions, in order to push the limits from all sides. The work of the organisers will be divided into 2 categories: aspects and
events.
Fundraising,
venues,
participants support and food will be four of the
aspects
of
the
session,
Opening
Ceremony, Delegate Party, Euroconcert and Closing Ceremony will be four of the events of the session. Every organiser will be in charge of one event and one aspect during the session. As core-organisers, you decide your own role in this structure. You will each oversee half of the aspects and events, in whatever
way
you
find
suitable.
Furthermore, we encourage you to Head Organise your own event during Antwerp 2021.
