More trees

THE tree plan has increased the plant heritage of Estepona by more than 20,000 new trees which have been planted in different points, both in the urban centre and the suburbs, since it was launched by the town council in 2012.

MARBELLA City Council has begun the construction of a sanitation network in the La Capellanía urbanisation. The works involve the creation of a road that will enable its connection with Lomas del Virrey. The work is expected to take six months.

Poetry prize

THE International Poetry Prize ‘Marpoetica’ has closed the registration period with nearly 1,800 poems submitted, almost half of them from outside Spain. Contenders will compete for one of the national awards with the highest economic endowment of €20,000.

RONALDINHO is to be honoured with the highest award from the MARCA sport newspaper at MARCA Sport Weekend, which is to be held in Malaga on March 24–26.

MARCA is thrilled to present the Brazilian star with the MARCA Leyenda, the highest prize awarded by the newspaper and which almost all football stars have: some who are no longer with us (Di Stéfano, Pelé, Maradona, Cruyff…); others who are already retired (Ronaldo, Zidane, Maldini…); and others who are legends in sports life, like Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
