recent years, collecting a total of 4,900 kilos in past Moors and Christians Festivities, which meant one kilo per partygoer in the con­ tainers assigned to the campaign.

This means that both parties involved in a situation or argument are equally responsible for it. The phrase refers to the South American dance tango which requires two partners to perform. It originated in a song written by AL Hoffman and Dick Manning in 1952.

Aside from festivities, according to data from 2022, residents and visitors of Orihuela recycled a total of 2,732 tons of glass containers, which represents 29.45 kilos per inhabitant.

FOR the first time, the Alicante City & Beach Tourist Board has set up a Tourist Office on the island of Tabarca to serve visitors this summer.

The Tourist Office has been set up in the Nueva Tabarca Museum, and is staffed Wednesday to Sunday from 11.00am until 6.00pm.

This service will be operational until August 31 during the busiest period for visitors to the island. Tabarca is a marine reserve in the Mediterranean due to the quality of its waters and the biodiversity of its flora and fauna, as well as its Posidonia meadows.

This makes Orihuela the city in the Valencian Community with the highest percentage of glass collection at source.

These data represent an annual financial saving in the municipality of approximately €136,000.
