/ 歷史沿革 History
/ 關於成大工設 About NCKU
1973 / 工業設計學系成立。 1991 / 成立工業設計碩士班。 2000 / 成立工業設計博士班。 2003 / 規劃與設計學院成立，包含工業設計系、建築系、都 市計劃系；同年教育部設立「生活流 行品設計策略聯盟教學資源中心」，結合國內產業界及相關 學校設計系所，與國際知名設計學校、企業辦理國際設計營 活動，以培育優秀設計人才之國際宏觀視野。 2006 / 配合「2008 國家重點發展計劃」及「邁向國際一流 大學計劃」，設立創意產業設計研究所碩士班及博士班，全 部課程則以英文授課方式進行，亦為國內首創。 2007 / 設立在職碩士專班 , 提供在職人士進修管道。 2008 / 成立「社團法人國立成功大學工業設計系系友會」， 組織系友力量，共同發展系務。
成大工設系本著人本主義理念，以創造舒適、安全及環保的 產品與環境為目標，期能透過完整的人文、科技、感性設計 等課程，培育專業的設計與企劃人才，以提升國際競爭力。 課程內容除涵蓋傳統工業設計所需的工學、商學與美學三大 領域。 強調以「仁」本主義的理念，創造舒適、安全及環保的產品 與環境為目標，期望透過完整的人文、科技、感性設計等課 程，培育專業的設計與企劃人才；綜合美學、工學及商學， 培養學生獨立思考能力、陶冶設計理念，以作全盤性之思考 及整體性之設計；研究所分為策略設計、人因與互動設計、 協同設計及感性設計四組；本系所除了教學及研究外，並配 合工廠實習、設計實務與企業建教合作，期以理論與實際相 互配合，以求對我國工業產品的研究開發具實際貢獻。
1973 / The Department of Industrial Design (ID) was established at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). It is the earliest faculty of industrial design in Taiwan. 1991 / The Master’s Program was established. It has been in accordance with the need of improving the quality of products made in Taiwan. 2000 / The Doctorate Program was established. It has fostered the very first doctors in design in Taiwan. 2003 / The College of Planning and Design was established at the NCKU. It includes the Department of Industrial Design, Architecture, and Urban Planning. The Design Center of Life and Trendy Goods was established within the ID. It has integrated domestic industries, academics, a n d i n te r n a t i o n a l re n o w n e d i n s t i t u te s a n d o rg a n i z e d International Design Camp ever y year. The purpose is to nurturing graduates with excellent design talents and global competitiveness. 2006 / Corresponding to the policy of NCKU’s Advancement and The Policy of National Development, The Institute of Creative Industry Design (ICID) was established. At the ICID, the very first institute of similar kind in Taiwan, all courses are taught and learned in English. 2007 / The Master’s Program for working professionals was established. It has provided a great opportunity for design practitioners to pursue higher degrees in design. 2008 / The Alumni Association of the ID, NCKU was established. It has integrated the strength of all alumni for fostering the ID, NCKU.

This department encourages students to design products that are comfortable, safe and environment-friendly. The goal is to foster design students who address ethics and kindness. All students acquire professional knowledge in design and planning through courses related to humanities, business, technology, engineering, emotion, and aesthetics. The graduate school (Master ’s and Doctorate Programs) engages in the following four study areas: (1) the management of information and design, (2) human factors and interaction design, (3) automatic and collaborative design, and (4) Kansei (emotional) design. As a result, students can think about and complete design work independently, creatively, and thoroughly. I n a d d i t i o n t o t h e t h e o re t i c a l c o u r s e s , p r a c t i c e s a n d internships within corporations are required. On the other hand, internationalization has always been our goal for nurturing design talents. For this purpose, we have hosted The International Design Workshop in recent years. Thus, our students are capable of adapting to different cultures and increasing their confidence in order to be competitive throughout the world.

Industrial Design Camp / Design camps are held for high school students in every early July. International Deaign Workshop / Held in ever y May, famous design school from all over the world are invited to NCKU to do design competition. And topic lectures and cultural trips are given to encourage interaction between international students. Oversea Internship / Every summer and winter vacation, students can apply for internship at Japanese design companies, such as GK Design, Metaphys, TDC, Nagoya Design Center etc.

您覺得怎樣的產品是有細節的 ? How would you consider a product as meticulous? 我認為細節並不重要，重要的是感覺，細節是打動人的 一種途徑方法，不是目的，不可以本末倒置。要有足夠 的過程，才能培養出感覺，產品不是越方便越好，而是 有足夠時間讓使用者感受到裏頭「善」的功能，讓使用 者覺得有其存在的價值。 I think that's not important, the only matters is the emotion. Being meticulous is a process, not the goal. You have to go through a process to come up with feelings. For a product, it's not "the more convient the better", it takes time for users to find out the good inside a product, and the value of its existence.
如何從生活當中得到靈感？ How can you get inpiration in daily life? 這樣的描述我覺得不好，那是藝術家的思維方式，代表 我們像苦行僧一樣，但創意設計不是這麼一回事，要有 計畫地創造靈感，而不是無意識的偶遇靈感，我們永遠 可以循著一個設計的思維或方法，找到靈感，而不是找 到靈感後，才開始創造一個產品或服務 。我們的起點 是生活，終點也是生活。 I don't think that's a appropriate description, that's how artist 's way to see things, when it comes to design, we don't "find" inspiration, we "create" inspiration with plans, we can always use design methods or design thinking to get inspiration, instead of creating a procuct or service after getting inspired. We begin from life, and ends with life.
設計以前講求功能，現在則強調人的情感， 您認為下一個趨勢會是什麼？ From "form follows fuction" to "form follws emotion", what will be the next trend?
不應是注重「人本」，而是「仁本」。仁本講求人之 間的和諧關係；相反的，人本，是出於人性的，人終 究貪婪，只是看起來較為高尚，狗比人類道德情操更 高，因為狗會把人當狗看（當作同類），但人會把狗 當人看嗎 ? 有，但是極少！ We should focus on benevolence, not just humanism. Benevolence is about harmony, and humanism based on human nature. Humans are greedy, we just appeared noble. Dogs are more nobler than human, because they see us as the same species, but humans DON'T!

您會如何解釋“起思”這個題目？ How would you describe this year's theme? 以工業設計來說，思考的開始應該是以人為主，這也是 和其他領域最大的不同點；必須思考對整個社會，甚至 對世界的貢獻和影響是什麼。在全球化的趨勢下，更應 該要有世界觀及改變世界的思維，創造更美好的未來。 When it comes to industrial design, we should start out thinking with human beings, and that's really different from other fields. You must think about how you can influence and contribute to the whole society and the whole world. Follow the trend of globalization, and think about how tyou can change the world into a better future.
如何從生活當中得到靈感？ How can you get inpiration in daily life? 生活就是活在當下，體會周遭居住的環境；生活的過程 很容易安於現狀，但設計師必須在細節中發現問題。出 國旅行是一種讓人抽離現有的生活，看到世界各地的文 化和物品，是獲得創意的來源。 Life is about living in the moment, pay attention to your surroundings. People tend to become complacency, and designers should find problem in details. Traveling can let people get detatched from their daily life, see the culture from all around the world, and get inspired.
設計以前講求功能，現在則強調人的情感， 老師認為下一個趨勢會是什麼？ From "form follows fuction" to "form follws emotion", what will be the next trend?
設計師的能力在於創造未來。隨著科技的進步，產品除 了基本的機能外，更必須符合人的情感需求；像是未來 的機器人，透過雲端、互聯網等科技，此時物本身除了 滿足人的情感需求外更會走向智慧 (Intelligence) 本身。 Designers have the ability to create the future. Along with the progress of technology, products are not only functional but also emotional, by featuring the cloud and IOT, products will evetually become intelligent.

How would you describe this year's theme? 我覺得起思就是創新的開始，要跟現在不一樣。比如說 車子，你把它設計的再快，也只是改良，我也期許同學， 創新不是只在工業設計，不要侷限自己，可以多選修外 系的課或跟外系進行跨領域學習與合作。 I think it means a beginning of innovation, and be different from present situation. Take car design for example, you're just "improving" if you pursue only higher speed. I wish that students can take courses from other departments, or work with people from other fields. Don't limit yourself.
如何從生活當中得到靈感？ How can you get inpiration in daily life? 很多人從生活得到靈感，但大家都這麼做的時候，怎麼 去贏人家？做設計在於能不能做到未來設計，也就是生 活中別人觀察不到的事物，你可不可以想像得到 ? Many people get inspired from their daily life, but when everybody does so, how can you be different? You have to design for the future, try to imagine about things that haven't exsist now, and find out something that other people couldn't notice.

創新的事物是沒有止境的，也很難推斷之後的東西會是 什麼樣子。很多產品不一定從使用者出發，消費者可能 自己都不知道自己要什麼。所以你問我未來是什麼，我 會說跳脫舊有的窠臼就是了。 Innovation will never end, and it's hard to say how things will be like in the future. Many products aren't based on user's demand, sometimes consumers don't even know what they need. So if you ask me about the future, I'll say just get out of the stereotype.
創新的事物是沒有止境的。

您會如何解釋“起思”這個題目？ How would you describe this year's theme? 會讓人想到拍照時要笑，讓人微笑的幸福設計，有很正 面的意義，讓我們開始思考對的事情，有這樣的感覺。 It makes me think about the "cheese" moment when taking a photo, a delightful design that makes people smile. It has a positive meaning, it's like we're thinking about the right things.
您覺得怎樣的產品是有細節的 ? How would you consider a product as meticulous? 其實產品都有細節，只是細節是不是我們所關注的，細 節有很大的部分來自於，設計者有沒有貼近使用者的心， 平常的觀察和對使用消費者的了解足夠與否，從設計師 端到使用消費者，和使用消費者到設計端，這兩項必須 要雙向， 就像平常的人際關係，想要關心對方，但關心 的方式或重點不對，那就不是雙向的，這樣的關心就不 容易被體察到。 Every product contains details, it only matters if we care about the details. There's a huge part of details that comes from our concern of the users and our observation of their behavior. Designers and users should be connected to each other, just like interpersonal relationships, you care about someone but using the wrong way, then you're not connected, and it will be hard to notice your intention.
請問老師有什麼樣的思考習慣或流程？ How is your way of thinking? 思考要有明確的目標，再來想我對目標了解多少。先看 對問題，接下來要想對，這就是智慧的所在，我們想要 幫助別人，出於好心給予別人的意見，但有時可能會給 了錯誤的意見。第一部份問題到底看得對不對，第二部 份解決問題的手法到底看得全不全面 ? 才能抓到問題的 關鍵。 You must set a clear goal of what you're thinking, and then see if you really know about your target. It's like we're trying to help someone, we want to give them some advice, and sometimes the advice could go wrong. First, you have to define a question in the right way, and then see the whole picture of the problem, that's how you can get the key os solving the problem.

逆向思考，隨時關注小地方，並設身處地替使用者思考。 想要從生活中獲得靈感，就要設身處地為人想。 Reverse your thinking, and put yourself into user's situation. If you want to get inspiration in daily life, you have to always think about people.
您有什麼樣的思考習慣或流程？ How is your way of thinking? 讓自己的頭腦隨時處於活躍的狀態。必須隨時都要醞 釀， 不是需要時才開始想，頭腦必須隨時保持活化， 靈感就才會源源不絕。相反的，如果平時沒有思考，突 然坐下來拼命思考想要有創意時，就會變得比較困難。 所以，如果你很在乎某一件事，在它他周圍一直想一直 看，會比起一個聰明的人想一整天，更有機會得到更好 結果。 Activate your brain, and keep thinking, so that inpiration will be inexhaustible. Otherwise it will be hard to instantly come up with an creative idea. So, if your really care about something, keep thinking and observing around it, then you're likely to get a good solution.

我認為仍然會是以人為本，那是不會變的。但人類的慾 望無窮，所以人類的想法是需要被約束的，並以永續為 前提，應該同時講求人本和仁愛為本。 I think it will still focus on humanity, but human's desire is endless, so their thoughts must be limited with sustainability, and contained humanism and benevolence.
想要從生活中獲得靈感， 就要設身處地為人想。

Q: How do you usually get inspiration from your daily life? A: My inspiration comes from my daily works.I have been working on more than 30 individual projects every day for 15years.Each project is affecting and they inspire me. Q: How would you define an object or work that contains “details�? A: I draw and design a lot. All you have to do is to draw tremendously a lot of works by yourself.A lot of drawings and work inspire you the new shapes and ideas that you have never seen before. Q: What would you do to help you think?Would you take someaction? A: There isn't any short cut to get great ideas easily.You must keep thinking, keep designing! Q: How is your process about starting a project? What would you do to examine a subject? A: First of all, I have a lot of interviews with my clients just like a doctor diagnoses his patient.

Q: 如何從生活中獲得靈感 ?

使用流程 Using Process 置入盒內 盛裝食物的內盒可單獨取出及置入。置入時，內外盒後方磁鐵相互吸引，使內 盒前蓋膠條與外盒膠條緊密貼合，維持保鮮盒密封效果。 The inner box containing foods can be taken out and placed in separately. When placing it into the outer box, magnets on the back of both outer and inner boxes attract each other, making these two parts closely attached. In this way, the crisper can be perfectly sealed.
自動抽氣 對準抽氣孔後按下電源鍵，自動抽真空機始抽氣至盒內達到真空狀態便自動停 止。盒內外壓力差使拉把緊密貼合於抽屜式保鮮盒的前蓋，達到真空保鮮的效 果。 Aim the ringed groove surrounding the handle and press the power button, the machine will start pumping and automatically stop until the inner space becomes vacuumed. Pressure difference makes the handle being closely attached to former cap of the crisper, and makes sure the drawer crisper is vacuumed.
拉開氣閥 抽屜拉把即是真空氣閥，只要輕拉等待氣體滲入達到壓力平衡，便可將抽屜內 盒取出。外盒底部的防滑膠條足以抗衡等待壓力平衡時的拉力。 The drawer handle is also the vacuum valve: as long as we pull it and wait until the gas outside seeps into the drawer to reach pressure balance, the vacuumed drawer can be pulled out. The anti-slip silicone strips at the bottom of the outer box are strong enough to contend with the given pulling force while waiting for the pressure balance.
方便放置 在抽真空機內部加裝磁鐵，讓它得以吸附在冰箱門上，不用額外找位置擺放， 讓使用流程更加順暢。 Added with magnets, the automatic vacuum machine can be stuck on the fridge door, so users won’t need to find another place to put it, making the whole process smoother.

矽膠拉把
抽屜拉把是真空裝置的重要角色。最前端薄金屬片在等待壓力 平衡時可作為支撐；中間為矽膠材質拉把，質地軟而富彈性， 與前蓋接觸面必須平整貼合，方可順利抽真空。後方可拆旋鈕 能將拉把自蓋上拆下，方便清洗。 The handle of drawer plays an important role in vacuum device. The metal part up front is a support while pulling out and waiting for reaching pressure balance; the middle part is a soft and flexible silicone handle whose contact surface with front cap of the inner box must be flat, or the vacuum device won’t work. The bottom part is a knob which users can remove while the crisper needs washing.

The ringed groove surrounding the handle fits the mouth of vacuum machine, making it perfectly sealed while pumping. Behind the hole is a slightly elevated platform that prevents the knob blocking the intake while releasing vacuum.
白色 LED 顏色檢測器
抽真空機 為了與食物管理 APP 連結，我們在抽真空機吹嘴部位加裝顏色 檢測器及白色 LED 燈，在抽氣的同時感應拉把顏色並利用藍牙 傳輸給食物管理 APP，讓畫面顯示出相對應的保鮮盒資訊。

To be connected with the food management application, there are color detector and white LED assembled in the mouth of vacuum machine. While pumping, the color detector detects the color of the handle then sends it to the application by bluetooth, so the interface will show up information of the corresponding crisper.

匯入的食物資訊顯示在畫面左上方的「食物 櫃」欄位，抽真空機檢驗拉把顏色後會將對應 顏色之保鮮盒顯示在左下方的「新保鮮盒」欄 位。使用者可在介面上透過拖曳方式編輯保鮮 盒及食物位置，並可選擇食物數量。完成編輯 後，畫面上顯示出品名及最佳賞味期限的倒數 天數，直覺地提醒消費者最重要的資訊。
系統依據食物數量及倒數天數組合出適合的 食譜供使用者選擇，並將期限越接近者排在越 前面的選項，幫助使用者在食物新鮮時有效利 用，讓全家吃得安心健康。
此頁面顯示出目前還未食用完的食物數量及 最佳賞味期倒數天數，期限越接近者顯示在 越上方，讓使用者能快速地瀏覽家中食物的狀 態。
Crispal System provides suitable recipes for users to choose based on expiration dates and quantities of foods; the choice up front contains more foods whose expiration dates are very close. In this case, the system can help users make good use of foods when they are still fresh and crisp, make healthy meals for the whole family.
This page shows countdowns and amounts of foods yet to finish. The closer the deadline, the upper the information will be shown, so users can quickly view all informations of foods.
Food information is shown on the “ Food Information” box on the upper left; after vacuuming, the machine sends the color of handle to the application, then the system shows image of crisper with the corresponding color on the “ New Crisper” box on the lower left. Users can drag crispers and items to edit their locations; the quantities can be edited too. There are items and their countdowns of expiration date shown on the interface, intuitively reminds users of the most important information.
