1. SELF.E ALLEY
Self.e Alley is dedicated to Evansville mural art celebrating the community, boosting pride, and increasing the city’s quality of place. The Alley contains two murals — a cityscape as an old postcard and a graffitilike neon style with entertainment options.

2. AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM
The African American Museum is the last remaining building of the Lincoln Gardens, the second federal housing project created under the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal in 1938. The museum showcases life in the 1930s era as well as promoting arts and education programs, cultural events, and festivals.

3. HAYNIE’S CORNER
Dubbed the city’s Arts District in 1979, Haynie’s Corner houses restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and historic buildings. It’s also home to art festivals like Funk in the City and First Fridays.

Located on the lower level of the Liberal Arts Building at the University of Southern Indiana, these galleries are home to works of art from students, alumni, faculty, visiting artists, and the university’s permanent collection.

5. UE BASKETBALL SCULPTURE
Standing in the center of Memorial Plaza on the University of Evansville campus, the “Weeping Basketball” was built in honor of the 1977 UE basketball team, most of whom tragically died in a plane crash shortly after takeoff. The stone slabs on each side of the entrance to the plaza are engraved with the names of all who died. evansville.edu

Located along the Ohio Riverfront in Downtown Evansville, the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science offers numerous exhibitions, educational events, and family programs throughout the year.

7. ARTS COUNCIL OF SOUTHWESTERN INDIANA
The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting arts and culture in the region and is home to the Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery in Downtown Evansville.

8. VICTORY THEATRE
Victory Theatre is one of the city’s most historic venues, even making its way onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Built in 1921, it now hosts various performing arts events and is the home of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

9. REITZ HOME MUSEUM
The former home of prominent businessman and philanthropist John Augustus Reitz, the Reitz Home Museum serves as one of the county’s finest examples of Second Empire architecture and is the city’s only Victorian house museum.
