ASSOCIATEINARTSAND SCIENCES-OPTIONI
The Associate in Arts and Sciences Option I is a degree comprised of courses tailored to a major in a professional area of study. The Option I degree differs from the AAS-DTA in that the college has identified a curriculum that requires a preponderance of major-specific courses that preclude the inclusion of many of the general education courses that are required for the AAS-DTA degree. The Option I degree differs from the Associate in Technical Arts in that the courses lead to a professional career highly related to a university major. This is not a Direct Transfer Agreement. The following are requirements for the AAS-Option I: ● The student must successfully complete a minimum of 90 quarter hours of courses numbered 100 and above in an approved program, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. The following qualify as approved programs: Degree outlined in an Everett Community College curriculum guide leading to an Arts and Sciences degree – Option I. The specialty area will be indicated on the student’s diploma and transcript, such as Music, for example. Or
Courses conforming to the transfer guides of a four-year college or university. The burden of proof of the transferability of such a program rests with the student. The specialty area will be indicated on the student’s diploma and transcript. ● Satisfy all requirements described earlier in graduation requirements for all certificates and degrees.
