High Expectations

From building schools to developing partnerships, the EPT is a Multi-Academy Trust working to improve opportunities and outcomes for children, young people and professionals in the education sector.

Partnership

The Trust was established in 2012 on the initiative of the Education Improvement Partnership Limited (EIP).

We will work collaboratively with partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

The Board of the EPT are determined to be a high performing MultiAcademy Trust that delivers the very best educational experience for our pupils with an ethos of collaboration and excellence.

Our Academies We believe it is important that our academies retain and promote their own individual identity within the overall vision of the Trust.

The Heights is an alternative provision free school for young people at risk of not reaching their potential. Working in close partnership with our local schools, the local authority, external agencies and parents and carers, we deliver highly personalised learning programmes to develop academic achievement, vocational skills and personal and social development.

Eden School provides young people aged eight to sixteen with access to an environment that is tailored to meet all their identified needs offers a change from mainstream education, challenges their expectations and finds ways to inspire success in preparation for working life.


Coal Clough Academy is an eleven to sixteen Alternative Provision for young people, many of whom have found it difficult to be successful in a mainstream school.

Pleckgate High School is a large secondary school, comprising 1,100 students and 170 staff with state of the art facilities that benefit both the school and local community. Everyone is committed to providing the best educational experiences and opportunities for our students.

The Heights Burnley, an Alternative Provision Free School for pupils aged from five to sixteen, has been approved for development by The Secretary of State. The school will deliver outstanding education enabling pupils to develop confidence, resilience and employability; so they can progress into education, employment and training.

EPT Safeguarding Commitment This Trust and all its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The Trust take safeguarding very seriously and all our staff understand that “safeguarding is everyone’s business and everyone’s responsibility”. The schools work closely with the local Safeguarding Children’s Board and related safeguarding teams and undertakes regular training to this effect. All adults who regularly work on our sites are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to prevent unsuitable people from working with students. All visitors are closely supervised when on site. Our staff are trained to be vigilant for all kinds of safeguarding concerns, including bullying, online safety, emotional or other abuse or extremist behaviour. We have clear procedures in place where any potential safeguarding concerns are identified, and appropriate action taken.
