Editor's Letter Some of you may not know this but I live in a BUBBLE! A big pink, fluffy and happy Bubble. I can honestly say that I really like it that way. Now don’t get me wrong, I hear about all the things that are going on with the world good and bad, but for me, my Bubble is where I choose to believe that the world is full of good Christian people who want nothing more than to make this place we call home for now a joy to live in. This issue is about color and art and how we create beauty in everything we do. Makeup is an art even if you don’t use alot of color you are using some color to express yourself on your face. Fashion is an art when you pick that hot pink shirt or black skirt to wear and lets not forget about those big chunky colorful necklaces and bracelets we all wear. The blue pump shoes or orange flats we accessorize with make all the difference in the world. Let's not forget to mention the color we love to put on our hair. Some more than others with streaks of all colors but it's an expression of yourself. In a world full of tragedy and darkness, this is how we can express ourselves. I challenge you all to get a little crazy with your style. Whether it be your hair, makeup, fashion, nails, jewlery, shoes or simply your purse color. Have fun and live in a bubble like me, where it can be as bright as you want it to be. The Art of Creativity is about you! It’s about how we can leave our footprint in this world. So next time you are out feeding the homeless or working in a shelter giving back your time do it with Bright Blue lips or Pink Shoes!!!
Show the World your Colors! God Bless You Kymberly Soule’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
Have a Purpose
Your life doesn't have a purpose until you choose your life purpose. So make that choice, and choose well. There is a very high correlation between lives of high purpose and joyful lives. There is also a high correlation between lives without purpose and unhappy lives. Create purpose in your life not as a moral dictum, but as a key element of a happy life.
Take Action - Be Bold
Once you know where you are going, get started. A life of action is almost always happier than a life of procrastination and inaction. Even if you are unsure about what to do next, do the best you can. Make some progress every day, and celebrate even your smallest accomplishments
Honor Yourself - Love Yourself as You Are
Honor, self respect, and self love are crucial to your happiness. Don't confuse these essential attributes with pride - in the biblical sense of pride. You have to respect and love yourself in order to stand any chance for a happy life. You are perfect exactly as you are - whatever anyone else may say about you. If you sometimes choose to make changes in how you live, great. But you never have to change anything in order to be a perfect person - a perfect creation.
Forgive Others and Forgive Yourself
Holding on to resentments, anger, and hatred only hurts yourself - and robs your life of its joy and happiness. For your own sake - for the sake of your happiness - forgive everyone for everything that they have ever done - or failed to do - that caused you pain or upset Why throw away your happiness on regret, guilt, or shame? Change the rules. Where did you get the idea that regret, guilt, or shame was a good or noble thing? Did your parents tell you that you were guilty and should be ashamed? Well, shame on them. How about your church? Wherever you got the idea that regret was a good thing, change the rules now.
Have Gratitude for All of Life Life is neither perfectly great nor perfectly awful - life just is. We can choose to complain about life's seeming imperfections - from the long line in the bank, to the slow commute, the driver that cut us off, the pain in our knee, the overdue bills, our bossy boss. That is certainly one way to live - it's not wrong to live that way, but there is no joy in living with that attitude toward life. We also have the choice of celebrating life - all of life. We can be profoundly grateful for everything we have. However little we have, it is so much more than nothing. Our very existence is a daily miracle which deserves constant gratitude. Make the choice to be constantly grateful for all of life, not because you are supposed to be grateful, but because you will live a much happier life if you have a grateful attitude.
Be of Service to Others
Of all the keys to happiness, Service to Others is the big one - perhaps THE secret of happiness. Without purpose we have no reason to live. Without taking action on that purpose we are impotent. What is the characteristic of a life purpose that creates satisfaction with life and genuine lasting happiness? - Being of Service to others. There are many ways to be of service - and they are all wonderful as long as they are sincere. Being of service can be raising children with love, caring for an ill relative, volunteering with the Red Cross, or it can be developing a new pharmaceutical or even selling a product that you truly believe will greatly help people. Being of service is the attitude rather than the action. One could be a physician for the money, or one could dig graves as a service to others. Note that being of service is completely different from attempting to please everyone - which is foolish and a path to great unhappiness. Being of service allows us to live a larger life, to live beyond ourselves, to leave a lasting legacy. Consider including service as a key element of your statement of life purpose, and taking action on that purpose. You will be happier for it.

The Endangered Macaw The status of all macaw species in the wild are of concern. Large numbers were exported to the United States and Europe the beginning of the 20th century. The majority of macaws are now endangered in the wild; several are highly or critically endangered, others are threatened with extinction and five or more species are already extinct - mainly due to the rapid rate of deforestation, hunting, and the illegal trapping for the pet trade. Therefore, all macaws are listed on the IUNC Red List of Threatened Species and are subjects of conservation; and bird importation is now greatly restricted. However, endangered exotic birds are still targeted by poachers for the illegal exotic bird trade, as collectors are willing to pay many thousands of dollars for one of these "trophy birds." Thousands of endangered birds get injured or killed either as they are trying to protect their young that poachers take from their nests, or as they are captured themselves, or they die in transit, as they are cramped into tight spaces that are designed to conceal them from authorities. Fortunately, many species are thriving in captivity and their captive-bred offspring is readily available - making those parrot species less attractive to collectors and to poachers.

Living Life w Find a straw. Hold your nose closed and only breathe through the straw. Not so bad for a few minutes, but try carrying a heavy load upstairs or running across the street while having a conversation. It’s much more difficult. You have to work a lot harder to get enough oxygen to fill your lungs, so you take short quick breaths which lead to hyperventilation, wheezing, coughing and panic because you really do feel like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Now imagine this feeling happening to you as a small child. It is very frightening as an adult who is aware of what is going on physically. But as a small child it can be pure terror. And this is where my story begins. 50 years ago asthma was not well understood. So when my constant “sniffles” turned into bronchitis several times a year, my doctor just thought I was just more prone to colds because I was born premature. All I can recall is waking up in the middle of the night with a croupy cough that turned into high pitched wheezing. My Daddy would bundle me up in a blanket and take me outside to breathe in cold air. While trying to stop me from crying he would sing hymns as we rocked back and forth. I remember my grandmother crushing soft peppermints in bourbon to soothe my throat and try to calm the cough. Always smelling of mentholatum. My childhood asthma ended before I started 1st grade. Fast forward through grade school and college where I was a gymnast, cheerleader, dancer, model and aerobic teacher. Perfect health for 20 years. I graduated and began my career in pharmaceuticals. I joke that I am allergic to azaleas, but that may be closer to the truth than a joke. My allergies turned to long bouts of chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. It seemed like I would be sick from December to May, only getting better during the summer. After many years of allergy shots, medications and a very painful nasal surgery yielded little relief, I assumed I would always spend half of my year sick. But something changed. I felt dizzy, fainted on several occasions, my heart raced and my heart rate would go through the roof. I saw every kind of doctor and started to think it was all in my head because no one could ever figure out what was happening to me. On my third ER visit, cardiology issues were ruled out, and doctors assumed I was having panic attacks. But it so happened at the time that I was learning about a new drug that treats asthma and COPD. As the weeks went by I learned everything about the respiratory system and related disorders. Then it happened I had that “eureka” moment. I diagnosed myself with asthma! Sure enough after a seeing a pulmonologist and having spirometry (measurement of your air flow) I had less than 50% peak air flow. Problem solved? No. Asthma is not curable. You manage the symptoms and medicate to prevent triggers. But it is always there. Over 330 million people worldwide are affected by asthma and approximately 350,000 people die from asthma annually. I carry my inhaler with me constantly but have found that I need it much less when my symptoms are under control. No two people have identical respiratory symptoms so just because your symptoms may be different than mine don’t rule out asthma.

Summer Al
Allergies can spoil summer fun and vacations, but they can be prevented. Here are a few tips for living with summer allergies and reducing the misery from pollen allergies when you travel:
Hay fever sufferers may do better at the shore, since the wind often blows in from the sea. Or one can head for the mountains, where pollen counts tend to be lower. When you know where you will be traveling, find out which plants will be pollinating. For example, Hawaii has grass pollination year round. Southern states typically have the longest pollination period. Grasses pollinate 10-11 months of the year. Trees pollinate early, but have limited seasons. For example, Elm trees pollinate for 2-3 weeks. The exception to this is a milder winter, which can cause pollination to peak higher and last longer. Know when the plants that trigger your allergies are in bloom and avoid visiting at that time of year. Time your trip to coincide with low levels of pollen. If traveling by car, close the windows and use the air conditioner. Plan ahead and fill allergy and asthma prescriptions before leaving home.

The Art of Aerial Yoga
Billie Reinhart has been teaching yoga in Fairhope, AL since 2006. She has been interested in different kinds of movement that provide the same meditative flow state that yoga does, like aerial silks and hulahooping. Carah Hall enjoys dancing and other movement like Zumba and hulahooping. She's attracted to the playful and challenging aspects of the Aerial arts & finds it to be a healthy outlet. Carah Hall & Billie Reinhart took their first Aerial Silks class together in early Spring of 2013, when Billie hosted an instructor that was visiting Fairhope. The beginning of their training was focused on dance & circus-like performance, the style of their first instructor. They continued to practice, researching new techniques and skills to keep it exciting, fresh, and challenging. This evolved into Teacher Training and expanding interest into Aerial Yoga. Aerial Yoga is usually done in an apparatus like a swing with handles but can be modified into a swing in the silks without handles. This can offer more options for different postures and sequences that can't be done in the aerial swing with handles. The swing in the silks is called a "cloud" and offers support for postures and sequences in the air and is good for conditioning the body. This means you can get into the air without having to able to pull up. Another apparatus called the "verticals" hang straight down & tends to be a more advanced form of aerial because requires more body conditioning & endurance in the silks to get off of the ground & more dedication toward learning how to wrap the fabric around the body. Reinhart says, "This practice helped me to be able to do a pullup. It has also strengthened my grip and gives me stronger hands to provide deeper pressure to my massage clients when they need it." Carah Hall says, "The cloud is great for decompressing the spine, doing some postures upside down changes the center of gravity and gives a different experience when opening the hips and relieving the body of tension. After a couple of classes, I have experienced relief from the constant back pain from an injury and it also helps release physical and mental stress from my desk job as an Engineer." Classes are beginner friendly. Group & private sessions offered.
