Gongs have been used from as early as Greek, Roman and Egyptian times to signify awakening, arrival and transitions. This form of meditation enables relaxation and emotional release. Our Japanese gardens, Koraku-en, were conceived in 1900 and were laid out to represent a pilgrimage through the circular pathway. Our Indian bean tree represents the sun and the adjacent pine trees represent the sky. Maples frame the Japanese tea house and pavilion and lend themselves perfectly to a sound therapy session either at the start of the day or to draw a day of deliberations to a tranquil conclusion.
