VGM Awards Ceremony 2023

Welcome

Good evening, VGM employee owners. It is my honor to welcome you all tonight to the VGM Awards Ceremony.

VGM is an incredibly special company, and it is the employee owners who are responsible for its success. Success can come in any form, in any capacity— from making sure a patient gets the DME that fits their needs to overseeing an entire program overhaul to ensure it runs smoothly. The finalists recognized tonight raise the bar in their respective areas—and whether their successes are upfront or behind the scenes, their impact on VGM is still felt.

One of VGM’s key principles is to Make a Difference, and whether or not someone takes home an award, each of these finalists have made a difference for the company in some way, and they all deserve the recognition.

Thank you, friends, family, and employee owners, for joining us tonight to cheer each other on!

How Does it Feel to be a Finalist?: Being nominated for the VGM Awards is a true honor, but being named a finalist truly left me astonished! Why Amber Is an Award Finalist: “Amber Jo has made an impact on the VGM Forbin business since she stepped into her role earlier in 2022. She led her team to partner with ours to decrease bad debt that had gotten pretty out of hand throughout 2021. How Does It Feel to Be a Finalist?: I’m honored to be a finalist, and I’m thankful for the 2RM and VGM employee owners who I’ve enjoyed working with. There’s so much talent at Two Rivers Marketing and VGM, and I’m appreciative to be a member of the team.

Why Matt Is an Award Finalist: “Matt joined 2RM at what turned out to be a very opportune time. As a creative department, we knew one of the areas in which we needed to skill up in 2022 was our animation and motion graphics work. This was an area that wasn’t covered in school for most of our 20-person design team but was quickly becoming a must-have skill for the work we do to support our clients. Matt designed a curriculum that introduced the basics to a team with a range of experience in this area and did so with thought, efficiency, and an exorbitant amount of patience. And through that training our entire design team is comfortable working in this space and a majority of them are putting it to use for our clients—raising both the quality and the value of our work.”

What Would Be Your “Walk-Up” Song?: “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz

How Does It Feel to Be a Finalist?: This year was full of challenges, both personally and professionally. I could think of several people I would nominate to take my place. Being thought of, much less nominated for a VGM Award, is beyond humbling. I’m incredibly fortunate to be supported by a fantastic team and leaders. Any success I have is because of the hard work and dedication of the employee owners around me.

Why Jesse Is an Award Finalist: “Jesse has an entrepreneurial mindset. His ideas are not limited to how we’ve done things in the past or why something might not work. At Forbin, we have a mission of creating raving Forbin fans, and he has some great relationships with our IT customers who often refer new business to us. I genuinely care about the organization, the people around me, and those we serve. I know that others at VGM genuinely care about me too, and working here has changed my life for the better in more ways than one. Molly Chicchelly

MOLLY CHICCHELLY VGM INSURANCE

Role at VGM: Client Experience Manager

I manage our agency partner relationships and help in the day-to-day needs of our operations team. I provide a conduit between the operations team and sales team as well.

Total Years of Service: 5 years

Hometown: Grew up between Raymond and Gilbertville, Iowa

Family: My husband, Braxton, and I have known each other for over 10 years and have been married for over 3. We have a gorgeous, happy, and smart 1.5-year-old daughter named Braelly. I have three sisters and we are all best friends, living literally next door to one of them! We also have a 7-year-old cat named Paul.

Something People May Not Know: My husband and I went to Alaska on our honeymoon, and I caught the first sockeye salmon of our group standing in the Kenai River. We flew home with 49 lbs. of fresh salmon!

What Would Be Your “Walk-Up” Song?: “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys

How Does It Feel to Be a Finalist?: I’m speechless (which isn’t common for me)! Years ago, I wrote down on a Post-it note some seemingly hard-toreach goals. One of them was, “How do I become a VGM Award finalist?” Know that your dreams can be a reality! Work hard every day, ask to be seen, and assume ownership in this company. It is so rewarding. P.S. I still have that Post-it note in my desk to this day!

Why Molly Is an Award Finalist: “Molly’s impact can be felt at VGM not just at a department level, but globally as well. Being recently promoted, Molly’s involvement goes beyond her core job duties, while also taking part in Women in Leadership and Young Professionals groups. She epitomizes going above and beyond, and she is always pushing herself for self-improvement while encouraging others and celebrating their successes.”

What Would Be Your “Walk-Up” Song?: “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Kelly

Role at VGM: VP of Member Key Accounts

I have the distinct pleasure of working with Associates’ largest customers, the VGM Platinum group. In addition, I work closely with a number of VGM vendors, assisting their efforts to connect with VGM members.

Total Years of Service: 16 years

Hometown: Dickinson, North Dakota

Family: My beautiful bride of 44 years, Pam, and I have two incredible children and seven wonderful grandkids. Our son, Brock, lives and works in New York along with his wife, Kerla, and their daughters, 11-year-old Fiona and 9-year-old Celeste. Our daughter, Jennifer, lives and works in Bettendorf. She and her husband, Chris, have five children: 9-yearold Kaleb is the oldest, followed by Cayleigh, 8 years old; Killian, 6 years old; Camille, 3 years old; and Calvin, 2 years old. The little ones are God’s way of reminding us that grandkids are way cooler than kids.

Something People May Not Know: My mother and I both graduated from Dickinson State College the same year!

What Would Be Your “Walk-Up” Song?: “Centerfield” by John

How Does It Feel to Be a Finalist?: VGM is home to so many talented, hardworking, do-whatever-it-takes employee owners. So, to be named a finalist is both a huge honor and very humbling.

Why Kelly Is an Award Finalist: “Kelly continues to be one of the most valuable assets to VGM. He is responsible for the continued improvement of the VGM Platinum experience by bringing in new members to the group, staying on top of the members’ needs, and looking for new ideas that the members want and need to be successful in their respective business. Kelly also coaches VGM employee owners to help them be better architects to our VGM partners. Kelly makes an impact every single day for VGM, and I am honored to work with him every day.”
