TANIA HEARN

ania is a Gold Coast-based graphic designer, hand letterer and chalk artist. She first picked up her motherâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s calligraphy pens when she was nine and has loved hand lettering ever since. This passion grew stronger during her time at Griffith Universityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Queensland College of Art, studying graphic design and digital media. She now spends her time designing event signage, murals and typography, and conducting creative lettering workshops around Australia. Tania will be demonstrating watercolour lettering and other techniques at the expo. KAROLA WITCZAK AND MARIUSZ GIERSZEWSKI

arola Witczak is a well-known designer, craft teacher and craft industry consultant, in Poland and abroad. She has been cooperating with many craft brands over the past 12 years. Karola currently teaches Mintay classes all over the world, presenting a variety of ways to use the paper collections she designs herself. Her style can be called ‘modern shabby chic’ and her projects are always full of 3D layering, a romantic touch with a modern twist, and a bit of soft mixed media.

ariusz Gierszewski is 28 years old and was born in a small village in northern Poland. He has been scrapbooking for seven years and teaching for almost five years and has been a member of many design teams for companies including Prima Marketing, Kaisercraft and Graphic 45. Mariusz has been working with Mintay Papers for two years and Scrapiniec for five years. Mariusz leads workshops almost every weekend, and has taught and displayed internationally, including Indonesia, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Estonia, Spain, Russia, Latvia and Denmark.

Create a card or layout and you could be in the running to win a prize pool of $650 and have your work displayed at the Expo…get started NOW! Layout Challenge with a Choice of Theme: Australia / Family / In the Garden Create an original layout inspired by one of the above themes. The layout entry must be 12”x12” (30cm square). Total prize pool of $450 to be divided as follows:

A cash prize of $150 will be awarded for the best example of each theme

Card Challenge: “Anything but Flat!” Construct an original card – up to size A5 when folded – that has some dimensional aspect – pop-up, three-dimensional, step, waterfall, paper tole etc., in line with the theme “Anything but Flat!”
