Our Nordic Adventure Center is the hub for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Strap on cross-country skis and follow 30 kilometers of

many of our trail names give a nod to our area’s history as a haven and thoroughfare for smugglers, particularly in Smugglers’ Notch Pass, which separates Vermont’s highest peak Mount Mansfield and the Sterling Range where our slopes are located. As lore has it, smugglers took advantage of the large caves and rugged terrain in the Notch to hide their goods and evade authorities during trade embargoes in the early 1800s and during Prohibition over 100 years later. In Winter, the narrow, switchback-filled road through the Notch closes just past our upper mountain parking area. Blanketed with snow, the route becomes the perfect playground for folks on our guided walking and snowshoe treks, and snowmobile tours. The early smugglers had faded into history by 1956 when community leaders opened a ski area that decades later would become Smugglers’ Notch Resort. Today’s Smugglers — local residents and area visitors — are all members of a family-oriented community that values the recreational opportunities and laid back vibe in these mountains. OUR MILLION-DOLLAR FULLY-LICENSED CHILD CARE CENTER FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS Specially designed for infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years. TREASURES includes 5,400 square feet of indoor space, with three sunny playrooms, a multitude of age-appropriate toys, tiny toilets and small sinks, giant fish tanks in every room, one-way-mirror viewing and easy drop-off and pickup for parents. The TREASURES staff, trained in first aid, CPR, child development and behavior management, includes many Early Childhood Teachers and Special Education Specialists. ON-SNOW INSTRUCTION FOR TODDLERS Our Little Rascals on Snow program introduces kids, ages 2½-3, to the fun of skiing and snowboarding combined with all-day child care at our TREASURES child care center. They’ll celebrate their ski fun in weekly TREASURES cookie races, where family members enjoy warm cookies and hot chocolate after watching their little ones “race” down the hill!
INSPIRED LEARNING AND PROGRESSION FOR AGES 7-10 Our Adventure Rangers program offers a solid foundation of skills through exploration of our variety of terrain. Coaches use our sculpted learning terrain, an array of games, and a heavy dose of fun to keep kids progressing and developing confidence during a 2-hour session or all-day program.
GUIDED DISCOVERY WITH CARE FOR PRESCHOOLERS Our all-day Discovery Dynamos program, for ages 3-4, encourages development and builds confidence through innovative teaching techniques. Your kids will learn to ski or ride with our trained instructors who guide them on specially groomed terrain that’s fun and kid-friendly. Discovery Dynamos includes creative off-slope activities that keep kids engaged and rested. Children must be potty-trained.
FOCUSED DEVELOPMENT WITH DELIGHT FOR KINDERGARTENERS AND FIRST GRADERS In our all-day or 2-hour Trail Blazers program children ages 5-6 ski or ride with coaches who develop a sound structure of skills and knowledge through guided exploration of learning terrain.
