One player, “Boo,” is particularly chatty, talking his team through an intense weekday scrimmage. “Good ‘D’ there,” he calls out. “Got to get a stop. … All right, good board. … Yo, everybody stay home on your shots.” Even as the score tightens and the players look winded, he never breaks a sweat. Austin “Boo” Painter plays basketball five days a week alongside his teammates, all lined up against one wall, all facing oversized screens and holding video game controllers. Painter is the leading scorer for Wizards District Gaming, which is in the midst of its inaugural NBA 2K season, a fledgling league that’s backed by the NBA. The upstart is trying to capitalize on the esports explosion — and in the process the new NBA 2K League has helped carve out unlikely career paths for sports gamers, perhaps few

as improbable as Painter’s. The 24-year old from Stanley, Va., graduated from Old Dominion last spring. He almost immediately accepted a job with the State Department, underwent two months of training, received his security clearance — and then walked away from it to play video games full time. “I get housing, everything’s paid for, and I get a good salary,” Painter says, by way of explanation. “I mean, I’m playing video games every day.”

In February, he was one of 72,000 gamers who participated in a combine. And then in April, he attended the league’s draft in New York, where the Wizards made him a second-round pick. Painter quit his government job May 9 and signed his NBA contract a week later. “I’ll never forget telling my family and seeing the look on their faces,” he said. “It was like, ‘You think you’re going to do what now? You think someone’s going to pay you to play video games all day?’ ” Now, he has what is essentially a 9-to-5 job, reporting each day to the Wizards District Gaming facility in Chinatown, where he sits with teammates and plays one NBA 2K game after another, prepping for the weekend competition in New York. Grant Paranjape, the director of esports for Monumental Sports, which owns the Wizards, estimates that only about 10 percent of the league’s 102 players have graduated from college or had embarked on professional careers. “The guys I used to work with, they were all behind it, like, ‘I would definitely leave this job and go play video games,’ ” Painter said. City posts first ‘Code Red’ day in past six years

THE DISTRICT Aaron Bateman pulled out a few bills to pay for a taco lunch in the nation’s capital. To his surprise, his money was no good in the city where money is printed. Surfside, a 24-hour Mexican eatery in Dupont Circle, doesn’t take cash. No cash means no register for robbers to empty out, no bills for workers to slip into their pockets and no change-counting holding up lines. The global cashless movement has reached D.C., where a growing number of fast-casual establishments and other spots are saying no to greenbacks in favor of plastic and mobile payments. Soon, they may be breaking the law. Critics of no-cash policies say they shut out the 1 in 10 District residents who don’t have bank accounts and undocumented immigrants who can’t easily sign up for cards. Some people also pay in cash so they can better track their spending or to avoid having their card information stolen. Heeding these concerns, several lawmakers in the District have introduced a bill to require retailers to accept cash. “By denying the ability to use cash as a payment, businesses are effectively telling lowerincome and younger patrons that they are not welcome,” said D.C. Council member David Grosso, I-At Large. His bill is among the pockets of resistance forming against the cashless trend, which has taken hold in countries such as Sweden and India where mobile payments are gaining popularity. last year. Companies going card-only say it makes good business sense. Washington restaurateur Bo Blair decided to experiment with going cashless when he opened Surfside in Dupont Circle in 2015. Usually, cost-conscious small businesses operate cash-only to avoid card processing fees. But cash also has hidden costs, Blair said: Armored vehicles taking money to banks. An extra hour for workers to close out the register. Employees swiping money from the till. And some of his places had been robbed. “Not having to worry about employees stealing or getting robbed is a huge lift off our minds,” Blair said. Bateman, who tried to pay in cash at Surfside, said he was lucky his girlfriend brought her debit card with her so they could pay. The 22-year-old Norfolk, Va., cook, who was on vacation, said he likes paying in cash so

But they are hungry too, and have $10 in their pockets and they would like to spend their legal American form of tender, known as cash, with you. “As society and technology evolves,” she said, “we must ask ourselves always, not just ‘Can we?’ But ‘Should we?’ ” An Amsterdam Falafelshop franchise in the Boston area went cashless in 2016, but the company intervened a month in. D.C.’s improving air quality in recent decades is one of its great environmental success stories. But on Monday, the pollution level climbed into the “unhealthy” range for the first time in six years, showing there is still work to be done to clean up the air. Monday’s dirty air, rated Code Red, may come as a surprise since skies were clear and the humidity was low. But it also marked the third day in a row without much wind. When the air is stagnant, pollutants tends to collect and remain in the atmosphere. Elevated concentrations of ground-level ozone were the culprit for the unhealthy air, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) said. As stagnant air lingered Tuesday, the COG issued a Code Orange air quality alert, which is one step below Code Red. Code Red alerts indicate the air is unhealthy for everyone; Code Orange alerts signify that sensitive groups, particularly children, older adults and those with respiratory issues, may experience adverse health effects. Pollution levels have settled at relatively low levels for the past five years — averaging 11 unhealthful Code Orange or Code Red days, compared with an average of 52 in the previous 16 years. local Joint complaint accuses company of lying and falsifying documents TRANSPORTATION Virginia and the federal government sued a concrete manufacturer Monday, alleging that it lied and falsified documents in connection with panels it manufactured for the second phase of Metro’s Silver Line that were later found to be defective. In the joint complaint, attorneys for the Justice Department and the state of Virginia allege
that Universal Concrete Products of Stowe, Pa., knowingly provided precast concrete panels that did not meet contract specifications, skirted quality-control requirements and then falsified records. Attorneys also said that Universal Concrete management learned of the alleged falsification in February 2016 but fired a company official who was pushing for an internal audit. They allege that the fabrication persisted for another year. The pattern of records falsification began before October 2015 and lasted until at least February

Man sentenced to life in 1991 killings of three
THE DISTRICT A majority of the D.C. Council on Tuesday backed repealing a ballot measure approved by voters last month that would force businesses to pay more to servers, bartenders, bellhops and other hourly workers who depend on tips. Seven of the council’s 13 members co-introduced a bill overturning Initiative 77, which was passed by 56 percent of District voters in June’s primary election. The initiative would stop businesses from counting the tips received by employees toward the minimum wage they must earn under law. D.C.’s minimum hourly wage is now $13.25 and on track to reach $15 by 2020. Prior to Initiative 77, employers were allowed to pay tipped workers just $3.89 per hour if tips made up the difference. Initiative 77 was backed by liberal activists and some workers, who argued that some workers did not receive enough in tips to earn the minimum wage, and their employers failed to fill the gap. The ballot question was strongly opposed by the city’s restaurant industry and some servers who said it would raise labor costs and force businesses to cut jobs, reduce hours or even close. The restaurant association began lobbying for repeal just moments after votes were counted on election night.

Fate of D.C. General Advocates for the homeless seeking to delay demolition of an aging family shelter on the former site of D.C. General Hospital suffered a setback Tuesday, as the D.C. Council approved a significantly weakened version of a bill addressing their concerns. The bill requires that the mayor report weekly on the results of lead and asbestos testing at the megashelter and that all remaining residents are relocated to “safe, appropriate housing.” The original legislation called for a halt to all demolition, and barred District officials from relocating any families in the shelters to the budget hotel rooms frequently used for homeless families. It was nevertheless an ominous development for supporters of Initiative 77, who have suggested they may be willing to compromise with opponents rather than face a total repeal. The council has overturned successful ballot initiatives at least four times since the 1980s. In 1996, lawmakers reversed a 1992 initiative that tightened limits on local campaign contributions; in 2001, they overturned a measure that established term limits. Illegal chess moves leave cars damaged
Chess is played with life-size pieces on the rooftop deck of an apartment building near Union Station. On Monday, some people decided to throw the pieces over the roof line, causing damage to vehicles below, according to D.C. police, who said the incident unfolded at the Senate Square apartment building. At least three vehicles sustained windshield damage, according to a police report. Police said at least four people were involved. No one was hurt in the incident. Nearly three decades after the execution-style killings of two men and a woman at a D.C. park, a 47-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison. Benito Valdez was sentenced to 94 years to life in prison on Monday after a jury convicted him in the 1991 deaths of Curtis Pixley, 29, Keith Simmons, 26, and Samantha Gillard, 23. The killings had remained unsolved until 2016, when four witnesses emerged, identifying Valdez as the killer. A witness testified that Valdez killed the three when Pixley didn’t hand back a $20 rock of crack cocaine during a drug buy. (AP) BALTIMORE COUNTY
County exec candidate to request a recount A candidate in the Democratic primary for Baltimore County executive says he’ll file a request for a recount. State Sen. Jim Brochin lost the race by nine votes to former state delegate John Olszewski Jr. The request was set to be filed late Tuesday or today. A recount could begin by Thursday. In Montgomery County, Councilman Marc Elrich was declared the winner of the Democratic primary for county executive on Sunday. Environmental violations found at Va. gas pipeline Regulators in Virginia are citing the Mountain Valley Pipeline project for environmental violations they say include the improper release of sediment into waterways. The Department of Environmental Quality announced Tuesday that it had issued a notice of violation to the natural gas pipeline. Other alleged violations include failing to follow approved erosion and sediment control plans. The notice of violation could result in civil fines. (AP)

The most recent example is the naked attempt by the acting secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs to control, if not intimidate, its inspector general. Acting Secretary Peter O’Rourke tried to pull rank over VA Inspector General Michael Missal after his complaint that the VA’s Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection was not providing requested information. In a letter to Missal last month, O’Rourke said the IG appears “to misunderstand the independent nature of your role and operate[s] as a completely unfettered autonomous agency. You are reminded that OIG is loosely tethered to VA and in your specific case as the VA Inspector General, I am your immediate supervisor. You are directed to act accordingly.” It is O’Rourke who misunderstands the IG’s role and independence, as a flurry of bipartisan criticism let him know. Rep. Tim Walz, Minn., the top Democrat on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, said, “Never before have I seen such an explicit attempt by a senior government official to curtail an active IG investigation.” Sen. Turning 40 is a good time to examine life, and that’s what is being done for the government’s inspectors general. There’s a flurry of activity this week, three months before the anniversary of former President Jimmy Carter signing the Inspector General (IG) Act in October 1978. The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) will hold a daylong conference on Capitol Hill today to examine “40 years of excellence in independent oversight.” Two goodgovernment groups issued reports Monday in observance of the anniversary. Inspectors general are an odd sort in terms of their place in government. They are part of the agencies they serve, yet stand apart as they investigate their colleagues and probe waste, fraud and abuse in the same agency. Nominally under top political leadership, they often must find fault with the programs and policies the agency leadership promotes. It can be a tricky situation that can threaten the independence critical to the IGs’

chairman of the Senate VA committee, said he supports “the independence of the Office of the Inspector General.” The Senate responded with a unanimous vote to prohibit the VA from any spending that would block the IG’s access to department records. Few agency heads are as open in their hostility to IG independence as O’Rourke was, but that case is not alone. IG independence is crucial, but “we believe the more pressing systemic problems are the endless IG vacancies and the meaningless reporting
requirements mandated by Congress in their semi-annual reports,” said Danielle Brian, executive director of the Project on Government Oversight (POGO). Federal administrative law judges will be hired directly by individual agencies, rather than from a central pool of candidates, under an executive order issued Tuesday by President Trump. The order is a response to a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding a challenge to the authority of an administrative law judge based on how government hires for those positions. Administrative law judges conduct trial-like hearings within federal agencies in disputes over decisions such as claims for benefits and enforcement actions against individuals or businesses. A. When cutting jobs, agencies typically first eliminate positions that are already vacant and try to create more vacancies through early retirement and buyout incentives. If that doesn’t meet the need, they must follow a complex process called reduction in force (RIF). The RIF process involves several steps to determine who stays or goes. For most agencies, the first is to give preference to employees with “permanent” positions over those with time limits; then veterans over nonveterans; then by length of service, with performance ratings used to add time to actual service. The result is that, all else being equal, those with fewer years of federal employment — who are typically, but not always, younger — are the first to go. The exception is the Defense Department, where performance ratings have been the first factor since early 2017, under rules that apply there only. However, the White House recently ordered that the rules be revised government-wide for other agencies to elevate performance over length of service. Trump said he “can’t say right now” if Putin is a friend or foe, but called him a “competitor.” The U.S. intelligence community has concluded that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to boost Trump’s candidacy, and warns of further attempts at interference. Speaking to reporters before leaving for Brussels, where he is to attend the NATO summit, Trump criticized the pact, saying, “Frankly, it helps them a lot more than it helps us.” Trump has been pressing NATO countries to fulfill their goal of spending 2 percent of their gross domestic products on defense by 2024. POLITICS Senate Democrats, backed by an array of progressive activist groups, launched an all-out blitz Tuesday to defeat President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, U.S. Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., set the tone in a morning interview on CBS News, highlighting Kavanaugh’s potential opposition to a constitutional right to abortion under Roe v. Rescue ends in triumph
SALEM, ORE. Two imprisoned ranchers who were convicted in 2012 of intentionally setting fires on public land in Oregon will be freed after President Trump pardoned them on Tuesday. The move by Trump raised concerns that others would be encouraged to actively oppose federal control of public land. The imprisonment of Dwight and Steven Hammond prompted the armed occupation of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon in 2016, led by two sons of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy.
Jamie Rappaport Clark, president of Defenders of Wildlife, noted the Hammonds were convicted of arson, a serious crime. “Whatever prompted President Trump to pardon them, we hope that it is not seen as an encouragement to those who might use violence to seize federal property and threaten federal employees in the West,” Clark said. The dozens of armed people who occupied the refuge near the Hammond ranch for 41 days said the Hammonds were victims of federal overreach. They changed the refuge’s name to the Harney County Resource Center, reflecting their belief that the government has only a limited right to own property within a state. Bundy and his sons Ammon

A federal judge in January dismissed the charges against them. They’re going to go back to ranching and put their lives together the best they can.” The Hammonds were convicted of crimes that require a mandatory minimum jail sentence of five years. A judge, however, initially gave Dwight Hammond three months and his son Steven Hammond a year and a day behind bars. In October 2015, a federal appeals court ordered them to be resentenced to the mandatory minimum.

The reduction, which is the second round of cuts, will shrink the federal money devoted to groups known as navigators from $36.8 million to $10 million for the enrollment period that starts in November. Last August, federal health officials announced they were reducing the navigators’ aid by 41 percent — from $62.5 million — and slashing a related budget for advertising and other outreach activities to foster ACA enrollment by 90 percent. The new reduction of help for navigators, announced late Tuesday afternoon by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, fits within a pattern of moves by the administration to weaken the sweeping health care law. Tuesday’s announcement requires groups that apply for navigator grants to encourage clients to buy insurance plans that cost less than ACA coverage because they cover fewer medical services and bypass the law’s rules, and short-term insurance plans, originally intended as a brief bridge for people between jobs. Thailand’s Navy SEALs, who were central to the rescue effort, celebrated the feat with a post that read: “All the thirteen Wild Boars are now out of the cave,” — a reference to the boys’ soccer team. “We are not sure if this is a miracle, a science, or what.” Eight of the boys were rescued by a team of Thai and international divers on Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, the final four boys were brought out, along with their coach. Their rescue was followed a few hours later by the safe return of a medic and three SEAL divers who had stayed for days with the boys in their cramped refuge in the cave. Cheers erupted from the dozens of volunteers and journalists awaiting news of whether the intricate and high-risk rescue mission had succeeded. Helicopters transporting the boys roared overhead. Attorneys general in 10 states and the District of Columbia said Monday that they were launching an investigation of contracts at fast-food chains that prevent their workers from switching franchises, targeting a practice some economists say drags down wages for millions of Americans. The group will send letters to eight fast-food companies, requesting information about “no-poaching” agreements that bar or restrict managers from hiring workers at another store in the same chain. “No-poach agreements unfairly limit the freedom of fast-food and other low-wage workers to seek promotions and earn a better living,” said Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, D, whose office is leading the probe. No-poaching clauses have come under increasing scrutiny over the past few years as wage growth remains a persistent weakness for an otherwise strong and growing economy. Bryce Harper doesn’t deserve to start in the Major League Baseball AllStar Game. The Nationals’ outfielder entered Tuesday night’s game — which ended after Express’ deadline — batting a measly .218. That doesn’t warrant a spot in the Midsummer Classic, let alone one in the starting nine. The All-Star Game returns to Washington next week for the first time since 1969, when Senators slugger Frank Howard belted a home run. Fans voting on the internet chose Harper to start, even though he is in a career-worst slump. There’s no question opponents respect Harper. Entering Tuesday, he led the NL with 76 walks and had blasted 22 home runs — one shy of the league lead. Miami even walked Harper on Sunday to pitch to Mark Reynolds, who a day earlier had clubbed two homers and matched a Nationals record with 10 RBIs. A pitiful batting average doesn’t represent Harper’s
total worth, but let’s be honest — it has been a mediocre year for the former NL MVP. Harper, who got his sixth All-Star nod, picked a contract season to have the worst three months of his career. It’s commonly said that players need an extra year of greatness to get rewarded with All-Star recognition and then get one more appearance than they deserve. This is Harper’s freebie. Fans have the right to vote players into the game as MLB tries to stay connected to its base. But managers should have the right to select the starters, and Harper should let somebody who is at least batting his weight take the field first. Baseball officials are happy, at least, that Harper will add star power to the Home Run Derby on Monday. And the game could be a high-profile farewell of sorts for Nats fans who fear Harper will leave as a free agent after the season. Harper, 25, could be seeking up to $400 million in his

Harper has never driven in 100 runs in a season; he had 99 RBIs when he won the MVP in 2015. He’s hit at least 30 homers only once, when he hit 42 that MVP year. Harper hit just .243 in 2016 and missed 51 games last season, but his average returned to a robust .319. As far as we know, Harper is healthy this year. But an average day for him seems to be going 0-for-2 with two walks. The Nats are floating around
.500, partly because Harper can’t carry them. Don’t blame opposing defensive shifts like his agent Scott Boras did. That’s just a whiny excuse. At the All-Star Game, Harper should tip his cap to a crowd of grateful fans who value him for more than what he’s done this season. Then take one at-bat and let someone else play. There will be other All-Star Games for him to relish more than this one.
The NFL Players Association on Tuesday filed a grievance with the league challenging a policy that forbids players from protesting on the field during the national anthem. The union says that the policy, which NFL owners imposed in May without consulting the NFLPA, is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement and infringes on players’ rights. The filing will be heard by an independent arbitrator, the NFLPA said. The policy allows players to protest by staying in the locker room, but forbids them from sitting or kneeling on the field or the sidelines. Juventus said Tuesday it paid $131.5 million for the 33-year-old forward, who signed a four-year deal with the Serie A champions. The Portugal star came to Madrid in 2009 from Manchester United and is the Spanish club’s all-time leading scorer with 451 goals in 438 matches. Washington, 66, was ordered Monday in Kansas City, Mo., to pay nearly $970,000 in restitution after pleading guilty in November to making a false statement in a tax return and aggravated identity theft. Twelve years after one of soccer’s most infamous moments, Samuel Umtiti used his head to score from a corner kick in the 51st minute and earn France a 1-0 victory over Belgium on Tuesday in St. Petersburg, Russia. We are living in an era in which listeners expect their favorite musicians to reflect their personal values and to be virtuous in their private lives, but music remains as private and mysterious as ever. There are no foolproof answers to the five hardest questions in pop music — only tactics to better cope with them. Here they are. CHRIS RICHARDS (THE WASHINGTON POST)

Is appropriation ever okay?
When is cultural appropriation — the act of making art that reaches for new ideas across lines of race and class — acceptable? Finding an answer requires us to differentiate between theft and influence. When Justin Timberlake beatboxes, or Taylor Swift raps, or Miley Cyrus twerks to a trap beat, it feels like taking. Nothing is being invented. When Talking Heads echo African pop rhythms, or the Wu-Tang Clan channels kung-fu cinema, or Beyonce writes a country song, it feels like making. The borrowed elements become an essential, integrated part of a new, previously unheard thing.

What happens if an artist dies?
Everything about Prince’s death felt unreal, including the fact that the greatest musician of our time vanished without leaving a will. What Prince did leave us, however, is anxiety over the contents inside his mythic vault. Would he have wanted us rifling through the recordings he had so purposefully locked away? Well, vaults are meant to be cracked open — and even if they weren’t, it’s a musician’s responsibility to be clear about what should happen to their music when they die. If an artist doesn’t want a recording in circulation once he’s gone, he should destroy that recording himself.

Can today’s artists sell out?
Artists nowadays are praised for thinking of themselves as brands. The valley of the sellouts has been transformed into a luxury resort where Bruno Mars can deploy his pseudo-funk in the name of L’Oreal hair care products or JAY-Z can initially release “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” in the form of a data-collecting Samsung app. Alarms should go off whenever music’s primary function is to sell another product, but our bigger worry should be over whether that relationship is changing the music itself. Ask yourself: Does a song remind me that I’m a human, or does it remind me that I’m a customer?

Can we accept immoral lyrics?
Rap is the most consequential music of this century, but the question is common: “How do you excuse all of the violence and misogyny in the lyrics?” Our anxiety over these lyrics tends to be an anxiety about other people. Because no, immoral lyrics will not suddenly make us do immoral things — but we worry they offer a psychic shelter to immoral listeners. We don’t trust those around us to listen as ethically as we do. In that case, we should speak out against the forces that animate the lyrics we find objectionable. But we can do that without disavowing the music altogether.

Are the art and artist separate?
You just found out that your favorite pop act doesn’t share your politics, or that they’ve said something hateful about a marginalized group of people, or that they have a history of sexual misconduct, or that they have a history of physical abuse, or all of the above. So we try to let go of the songs, but it hurts. Can we publicly denounce a musician for their misdeeds without abandoning our connection to the music they’ve made? Truly, we can never separate the art from the artist. All we can do is separate the art from the world outside our heads.
Ben Roberts comes from Arkansas, his wife, Emily, is from South Dakota, and they met in Memphis. But for the duo known as Carolina Story, Nashville was always their destiny. “Lay Your Head Down,” the couple’s debut album that comes out Friday, pulsates with achy, heartfelt sentiment. On the opening title cut, a mournful train whistle of a harmonica lays the groundwork for Ben’s plaintive tenor. No sophomore slump for the ‘Homecoming King’ Hasan Minhaj returns to the road — and Netflix — after his first special COMEDY Fresh off a breakout year in 2017, comedian Hasan Minhaj is ready to turn his wit to diagnosing the larger issues facing America. Minhaj, a correspondent with “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central, is kicking off a North American tour in August and this fall will host his own weekly comedy show for Netflix. “I have no desire — not only in the show but also in the series — to chase covfefe,” Minhaj says, referring to the mysterious term President Donald Trump introduced last year on Twitter. “I have no desire to do that.”
Minhaj instead wants to fuse his personal narrative, as a firstgeneration Indian-American navigating between those two worlds, with the current political and social backdrop. “A lot of people turn to daily satirical news shows to just say, ‘Hey, what is going on? Please explain it to me and break it down for me in a 7½-minute act,’ ” Minhaj says. “What I have the opportunity to do — not only in a one-hour show but also hopefully in the series — is to talk about why things are happening and what larger questions it presents to ourselves as Americans.” Last year, Minhaj hosted the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and saw the release of his first comedy special, the autobiographical “Hasan
Minhaj: Homecoming King,” which earned him a Peabody Award. The new tour, titled “Hasan Minhaj: Before the Storm,” starts Aug. 11 with a two-night stand in Los Angeles. Minhaj has noted a thirst for comedy, but he hopes audiences understand the challenges faced by entertainers in the modern political climate. “Ultimately, we are satirists and comedians and the necessary condition to tell our story is that it has to be funny,” Minhaj says. “So people will come up to me and say, ‘Hasan, you have to talk about Syria,’ or ‘You have to talk about what’s happening [to the] Rohingya right now.’ If I can’t make it funny, unfortunately I cannot do a show on it.” MARK KENNEDY (AP)

G-Eazy had to cancel a concert after he was denied entry at the Canadian border on Monday. Sources told TMZ that the rapper had trouble with customs agents at the border in Calgary, Alberta, ahead of his set at the Cowboys Music Festival. The festival tweeted out a statement Monday night that G-Eazy was unable to perform “due to reasons beyond our control.” G-Eazy was recently arrested for cocaine possession in Sweden. (EXPRESS)
George Clooney was taken to a hospital in Sardinia and released after his motor scooter and a car crashed on a state road on the Italian island Tuesday, ay, hospital officials said. “He is recovering at his home e and will be fine,” Clooney’s spokesman told the AP. The John Paul II hospital in Olbia confirmed Clooney ey was treated there and released after the accident. Local media said the Oscar-winning actor-director r left in a van through a side exit. A film crew member says in a lawsuit that Johnny Depp punched him twice on the Los Angeles set of the movie “City of Lies” in April of 2017. The location manager, Greg Brooks, also alleged that he was fired from the production when he refused to promise not to sue over the incident.
