The Atlantic Coast Route enters Spain through the Atlantic Pyrenees of Navarra. It starts in the town of Endarlatsa and crosses the EDERBIDEA territory, the St. James Way (UNESCO), and finally arrives at Viana. Logroño, gastronomical city
Along the St. James Way (UNESCO), you will arrive at La Rioja. Logroño offers worldclass wines and gastronomy. The itinerary crosses the beautiful vineyard landscapes of La Rioja and reaches to Najera´s Santa María la Real Monastery, the heart of the medieval kingdom. The Atlantic Coast Route continues through Suso and Yuso Monasteries, a World Heritage Site and birthplace of the Spanish language, to arrive at Cañas and the Monastery of Santa María. Castilla Canal and Cigales Wine Route
The Castilla y León route, with its approximately 514 kilometers, begins in Burgos, where you can visit its Cathedral and the Archeological Site of Atapuerca, both World Heritage Sites. Along the Castilla Canal and the Douro River, you can enjoy the local gastronomy and the richness and complexity of wines from Cigales, Rueda and Toro Certified Wine Routes. The itinerary continues until you reach Zamora, known as the Spanish Romanesque capital, and Salamanca (UNESCO), a city with an outstanding cultural legacy. 3

This itinerary take you through Extremadura along 357 kilometers, which partly coincides with Ruta Vía de la Plata. Various examples of the cultural and historical importance of Extremadura´s cities are Baños de Montemayor with its termal baths, Hervás and its Jewish quarter, Cáceres and Mérida, both World Heritage Sites, Almendralejo, and the white Zafra. Huelva´s beaches
The Atlantic Coast route ends in Andalucia covering a final 230 kilometers that extend from Higuerra de la Sierra to Ayamonte. In the north, mountains will be the star attraction leading down to grasslands where you should be sure to taste the local cuisine. Continuing south you will see the Mars-like landscape of Riotinto’s mining zone. This ancient Roman route, now touring bikeway, was built in the 1st century BC and eventually became one of the main route to travel from norther to southern Spain.
