PAMUKKALE UNIVERSITY ARCHITECTURE FACULTY ‘‘competition entry’’ with FERHAT ZEYCAN
Project site is located on Denizli Pamukkale University Campus. Program’s size is about 16.000m² and thought to be constructed in two phases. The size of the program, economic concerns, and climatic situation are the main concerns of the design. We planned to place the structure parallel to the topography lines of the mountain slopes. All of the programmed activities are arranged around a large central space that is activated by the density of what surrounds it. The space is designed as a place for celebrations and balls, encounters and debates, projections and artists’ installations, as well as for the most serious symposia and avantgarde exhibitions. The functional and programmatic parts of the school open onto this interior rectangle. Similarly, the activity in the studios is visible from the central hall, reinforcing the image of the school as a place of communication and discussion.
4
The circulation is also gathered together in this central hall in the form of staircases and walkways that crisscross the space, forming a multi-leveled suite of open passageways. This transforms the building into a large promenade, which, as in a city, can have several points of departure as well as multiple shortcuts through it. The 400-seat amphitheater—a striking “object” posed within the space and covered in shimmering extruded metal— can be accessed by stairs and by walkways.

anakkale, in a fertile region, next to the tourist and commercial crossing the strait being established civilizations has been the scene of historical section of the city it is a historic landmark and a set of dynamic potential to feed their suburbs. Therefore, unlike the definition of other cities of Canakkale city it should not be done on the ground or construction without urbanization. The structure has been tried before the formation of land on the blue section is combined with green.

he site that we design art and academy center is located inside the walls of Nicosia. When the site was analysed, it is seen that the site is the only free and not built environment in surrounding. Moreover four sides of the site was closed by different perriod of architecture examples. It has a potential to be a square. The main aim of the design is not covering the site with a building but creating and maximizing the public usage. Main programs designed under the ground level to reach this aim. Vistas of all historical buildings thought in the design stages. The site designed as an urban park that take in the ermenian church inside. Under this urban park I designed a square that serve to the auiditoruim, recital halles and performance halles. This square is thought like an open foyer of the cultural activities. It is also reaching the courtyard of educational part of the bulding. The building covers the historical building and shows it as an object. Also it emphasizes the historical building in both street facade and the courtyard.

his project focuses on Ankara fast train station which is planned to be built on a site located behind the existing Ankara Central Railway Station. The project idea started from connecting two sides of the city which is seperated by railways. The old railway that coming from old Cer Atelier works city’s tramway line and promenade. All the program was designed to serve this promenade. The railways were carried to underground. In this way freespace gained in the ground level. Also the new railway hub’s location decided not to ruin the vista of old railway situation.

The Structure of bridge consist of 3 main elements. One is spiral column the other is tensile web structure and lastly pathway. The tensile web structure composed in one large piece that can easily be fabricated and constructed. The uniformity of tensile web was producted with reparametrising of lofted surface.

he expo garden fair site, which will be held in Antalya in 2016 is located on Mersin- Ankara road and it welcomes the city visitor like and entrance. The main idea as all expo fairs to introduce the city and its garden products. When we look at the master plan of fair we see a simple gridal arrangement of islands. The tower form couldnt be thought seperate from the context. Promotion of Antalya, sustainability, were the basic principles of design. The structure of tower is the combination of steel columns and steel waffle slabs. Both to need to switch places with large openings, both the compatiblity of proper axis arrangement were the reasons of structural design principles.

helter means victim can meet all the needs under one roof. In order to depend on sustainable architecture teory we select the materials that are all recyclble and widespread use in the market. We gave importance the infrastracture issue and designed for both multi used and single used house units. Master plan designed according to the minimum usage of infrastracture. 2 family units designed together and they share the wet cores. These wet cores include storage tank for grey water usage. The construction of these shelters are based on the flatpack idea.

roject objective is the answer of how architecture and engineering combine each other in an aesthetic way. METU Campus enlarged gradually and first plan of the campus is creating problems for pedestrian traffic in some points. Bridge route decided upon this. Pedestrian access and the easiest way to passing the bridge were the first decisions of design. Instead of classical arch bridge support elements were attached each other in crossing way. In this way Support pipes distrubute the load to arch and cantilevered beam equally.

he site is located on the last part of Dikmen Valley. Project aims a transformation of squatter houses include a housing project within urban context. Being a valley has many potentials. On the site slopes of the valley has different characteristics. On South slope there is an embassy area and north slope there waere squatter houses. In design decisions base of the valley remains green to provide a public green axis in the city and the housing units were designed on north slope because of both to provide south sun in houses and differentiate from embassy area also providing privaty. Housing units were proposed with lineer scheme due to orient the site and adopt the topography and slope Every single strip contains its own service and social spaces. Strips are also organized according to each other due to dont restrict the upper strip’s vista of valley.

W
hen Ankara as the capital city is analysed, it becomes apparent that it has many territories which are closed to access such as governmental and military territories. The site of Ataturk Cultural Center is one of those sites. Yet, it has much potential such as its location and its connection to the other parts of the city in terms of its access. The territory is on the intersection of two main axis of Ankara and there are different attraction points from all its two sides. The empty area is surrounded by walls from its periphery, and thus it makes it hard for people to enter to the site. The purpose of the installation is creating a prototype for Ankara that can be used in such impermeable places. For the AnkamallAtaturk Cultural Center area the installation works as a functional connection. The proposal is made up from P.V.C recyclable pipes which is permeable, flexible, changeable that can serve to different purposes. The wall can be modified by people during different activities on the site The more people interact the more permeable wall becomes.

he Project aim was designing an office with in workspaces, meeting rooms living quarters for visiting researchers and public facilities. The site 7th street is one of the most significant social points of Ankara. In design process public and private spaces arranged according to 7th street context. On street level public spaces was settled up and the audiutorium was solved for public usage except office hourses. Split floor scheme has chosen to increase the interaction between different office spaces around an inner atrium that is home to circulation elements. The building reflects the transparent work culture to its facade. Living quarters are offered on the top most floors for the sake of privacy and they have full access to the roof as a recreation area.

ne side of the site is dwelling zone and the other side is Dikmen Valley Urban Transformation Project. When deciding the area of school current and future needs were considered. School is a new physical surrounding for children as well as a new social environment. Primary schools effect children’s social behaviour directly. Therefore it can be said that easily perceieved identified and not creating uneasiness spaces are the objectives of design. Social and educational spaces solved in seperate areas on the purpose of using social places as public. 1-4 and 4-8 classes are designed in different masses and common use spaces combined to classes with a spine. Spine was proposed as lively place that all the units connected to it and it continues on the outside as canopy.
