Name, Surname: Inna Tevikyan Age: 20 years old City: Yerevan, Armenia Occupation: Student at Yerevan State University/ Project assistant at Society Without Violence NGO EYP Experience: Baltic Forum of EYP in Estonia Experience in the field of the position applying: Organization of social events, trainings, round-table meetings and movie screenings Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? "EYP is a platform to show yourself and your opportunities, to understand what you can and what you want to do. This is the place, where you can be yourself and express your crazy and creative ideas freely. Here are the people, who are adventurous, positive and intelligent. I deeply believe that from the first day of our membership in EYP, each of us started to think of how to keep this place as beautiful as it is and how to have a full participation in its productive activities. So here is the chance! I had some fear before applying for the position of Regional Development Officer. I was constantly asking myself, if I would be able to control the situation and be as good as current board members of EYP. Only the idea that EYP is the place where I imagine myself and my future activities, made me apply for the position. The reason why I have applied for the Regional Development Officer is that my current job also based on the requirements of it. As a former volunteer and currently working at Society Without Violence NGO, I’m trying to find contacts with other local NGOs and organise trainings in different regions of Armenia. I believe that any job done on volunteering bases, is more appreciable and informative. The reason for that is obvious: one just do what he/she wants to do. Any job, no matter payed or not should be done with high motivation and responsibility. I am sure that I will be able to have my little input in the development and new achievements of EYP due to my good organising and communication skills. I want to share my motivation and new ideas in European Youth Parliament of Armenia and get a big flow of knowledge and energy, that can be irreplaceable for me. What is EYP Armenia for you? "EYP is the people, who become friends from all the corners of the world, due to being a part of a big and happy family. EYP is new opportunities, connections, friends, unforgettable moments, knowledge and worldview. EYP + involvement in it = “there is nothing impossible” 2

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Involving youth from regions of Armenia will help exploring many talented people and giving them an opportunity to demonstrate themselves and also to develop their skills. This mission includes a huge work with regional schools, their teachers and NGOs, who are specialized in different projects with youth, being in contact with municipal and administrative governing bodies for co-operation as well as state support to encourage subjects we are working for. For all this pointed out above we need people with their diplomatic skills and also the one who also knows the life and daily occupation. Consequently, I am sure that skills listed and connected with them I have, also knowledge gained both while studying my profession of lawyer and from life experience in living different regions of Armenia will help me to go on and reach the goals we state every time on strategy discussions. The main principle of my work and also of my personal relations is loyalty, and as stated by the person in famous TV Series “Loyalty is a two-way street”. In any case if you are devoted to something you need to invest all your loyalty for not only giving it but also receiving the same… So, here is what I am going to do ! What is EYP Armenia for you? As a team who has many plans for making real and goals to reach, EYP Armenia has many members anytime ready to operatively react when there is a problem to solve or something to organize and even to really rock and have a good time together. For one this can make exciting feelings to realize that he is a part of it and can present it with honor beside any other NGO and National Committee of EYP both in Armenia and internationally. It gives you a chance to pass 3

days and travel with people and gain friends as while travelling and passing extreme situations you can find loyal friends. I am just sure that for most of our members EYP Armenia is a great FAMILY where we can find love, help and many other positive. I love to repeat that “I am the part of the Family.

Name, Surname: Erik Ananyan Age: 16 years old City: Yerevan, Armenia Occupation: High School Student at QSI International School of Yerevan EYP Experience: Dilijan Academic EYP Forum; Dublin-Belfast 81st International Session of EYP (will be held in March); I am a member of EYP Armenia Experience in the field of the position applying:

 

 I have managed to participate in different voluntary works in the regions:  Have been one of the organizers of the process of collection of books for further sending in the regions of Armenia; Have participated in several visits to orphanages in different cities and gathering of food, toys, etc. for them, especially for 2 orphanages in Gyumri; As I am a part of a start-up project JobArt, which aims to create the first freelance platform, I communicate a lot with people from regions, that are involved in the project as freelancers.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Hi, everyone out there! My name is Erik Ananyan, I am 16 year-old-boy from Yerevan, Armenia. I am a friendly, straightforward, trustworthy person, who is always open-minded to new ideas and approaches. I have a curious character and, therefore, I eagerly long to learn new things all the time. I am a communicative person, with leadership qualities, who is always ready to take initiative, whenever it is needed the most. What makes me different, and, sometimes, really proud of my personality, is that I am very principled. I would go to great lengths if needed to be free of prejudices and unfairness. I always truly believe in what I am doing and am ready to take risks to achieve success. Although, I am a very realistic person, I am used to dreaming big, having positive thoughts and I believe that with enough effort everything is possible. This all are the main attributes that have pushed me to apply for such a responsible position in the board of EYP Armenia. Becoming a Regional Development Officer would be a tremendous opportunity for me to find a lot of new intellectual challenges, to improve my personal and social skills, and what is even more important, to improve the conditions of youth in the regions of Armenia, which I consider a fundamental part of the awareness of international community about out small motherland. Moreover, I am a person who is used to following his passions, and I can surely say that becoming a part of the big family of EYP as a whole, and trying to input effort, 5

time and energy in the creation of a better global and local community, has already turned in one of my passions, that is why I just couldn’t pass by. This all are the main points that I wanted to address you, and I would be very thankful, if you voted for me, and gave me a chance to live this dream of mine. What is EYP Armenia for you? When I was participating in my first EYP Armenia forum - Dilijan Academic EYP Forum in October 2015, I wasn't really kind of a person who thought that there is a point in improving the world, and what is even more absurd, that I could do it by myself. I was some type of a conservative person, who was seeking for some papers certifying his social activity, so that he would have better chances for getting into a good university in future, and that was all. However, what EYP Armenia has done for me, is it changed my whole mindset by 180 degrees, showing me that the world is more than just black and white, it is beautiful with all its colors. Moreover, EYP Armenia has shown to me that the borders separating the people of the world are just physical lines, that do not have anything to do with communication and cultural exchange, especially amongst youngsters, who due to their maximalistic views are the ones who still believe that they can change the world. And what I am really thankful for, is that I started to believe in that too, in the Q-factor, as Hovsep Patvakanyan has mentioned in his speech during the opening ceremony of DAEF. And what is even more important, is that I gained a lot of quality friends, who believe in a lot of things that I do, some of them have even become soul mates for me. So now, when I have to answer what is EYP Armenia for me, I have to say, that it is a turning point in the lives of a lot of people, this is not only related to me, people who find their motivation within this organization. It is more than just an organization, it is friendship, family, inspiration and just more than words can express.

 My current job responsibilities include contracts negotiation and conclusion also in northern regions of Armenia , as well as further formalities related to them (court representation in regions)  YSU Law Faculty project “Human Rights course in schools in regions in 2012" Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? "Back in 2014 for the first time I participated in an EYP event. It was the 1st International Forum of EYP Armenia (IEFA) and I was a confused delegate excited about the spirit EYP held. After that at some point in Ireland, where I most probably would not have gone that soon if not for EYP, I realized that I had become close friends with amazing people, whom I would not have met if not for EYP. Then I started active chairing, and EYP challenged me to grow to be a better person, to guide and in the end to have that unique feeling of accomplishment, which you get when you devote yourself fully. And now we are the ones trying to head organize the event which introduced EYP to me. All that would be unimportant if not the special EYP-ers. Each and every person I’ve met at EYP is unique…because let’s face it, one must really be unique to do teambuilding in public. As obvious as it is, EYP gave me a lot: friends, experiences, lessons, memories. Now I feel the time has come for me to do something for EYP Armenia and contribute to make it even better. That’s why I want to be the EYP Armenia Board member. I believe in EYP and share the vision of what it must be in the future to inspire and involve people giving them the amazing opportunities it gave to me and many others. If granted opportunity by our alumni and members, I would really like to contribute to the further regional development of EYP Armenia, involvement of youth from all over the country and making difference together. 7

So vote for me to be Regional Development Officer and undoubtedly, we will have an amazing journey together! What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP Arrmenia for me is a journey from complete strangers to best friends, from insecurity to confidence, from indifference to involvement and from being inspired to starting to inspire others!

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Dear fellow EYP Armenia Alumni and Members, EYP Armenia has proved to become a vibrant, eminent and innovative youth organization in Armenia. It challenges you to discover yourself, makes you step out of your comfort zone, and encourages taking a step forward to your growth. EYP Armenia has a vision and the ambition for making its contribution to building a better tomorrow. Being an enthusiastic and motivated young professional, I believe I can make use of my knowledge and skills to have my input in the process of realizing the vision of EYP Armenia. I am eager and willing to devote my time and efforts for maintaining the strong ground EYP Armenia stands on today as well as strive for achieving new horizons. Surely the journey is going to be full of challenges. However, challenges are for overcoming and becoming stronger and wiser. They are opportunities to work hard and grow immensely. And I truly believe in hard work as it always pays off. Thus, it’d be a great honor and pleasure for me to become a part of EYP Armenia executive board as the Vice-President on Strategy Development and Fundraising. Thank you very much for your support. Sincerely, Meri What is EYP Armenia for you? #oneweekwithEYPArmenia #ashortstory The feeling of excitement and fear before starting something new is the thing everyone shares. You try to embrace the new, the undiscovered and let go of all your doubts. The image of enlarging your network, gaining new knowledge and having some fun gets you going. The EYP Armenia journey starts with the team building; we are individuals who need to fully grasp their personality, but at the same time become a part of the team. A passerby might wonder why they are putting a balloon under their shirts or why they are running around chaotically. But as an EYPer you know: an exceptional team spirit magically downs on all of you through these exercises and games. Later on there comes the Opening ceremony, also known as the first day you have to get hold of your fancy official clothes, listen to inspiring speeches and make the first official photos. You get to know the journey of people, who were there before you, hear their advice and start feeling you are becoming a part of something big.

10

The days of the Committee work do not make you wait. Alongside with your fellow Committee members you go deep into the issue at stake, identify the challenges and brainstorm over the plausible solutions. And any EYPer can say that the Committee you represent influences you in a special way. After days of working hard and having breaks through Committee Tour and Committee lunch, the night before the General Assembly hits you out of nowhere. This sleepless night is one of the crucial parts of any EYP experience. And surviving that night is also very essential as the GA is right around the corner. The GA or also referred as ""clash of the titans"" is what takes place on the very last day of your week with EYP. Hours of research and analyzing you spent over the topics on the agenda basically come down to this moment. You defend, attack and support the resolutions for the pressing issues of present day reality. You get angry, then amused, then happy and bittersweet in the end. Whether your resolution passed or not, it does not matter as you lived a week you are definitely going to remember. #EYPArmenia #livetoinspire #actreactimpact "

"Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? A farmer grows corn. He plants the seeds every autumn and harvests late in spring. He knows exactly how much to water them every day, when to cut the weed so the harvest doesn’t go bad. He sells those corns and eventually earns enough money to expand his farm. But recently there was an addition in the market. Now when the villagers go to buy corn, they have 2 choices: buy either from the farmer or a very well marketed factory supplier, which’s corn is frozen, not half as healthy or juicy as the farmer’s. How does this have anything to do with EYP? I have been involved in EYP Armenia since day 1. That makes it 3.5 YEARS. I was one of those people who planted the seeds. I watched EYP Armenia grow and with it I grew too. Thanks to this experience I know how to handle things when the situation is critical, I know when to cut the weed. I know when to water the plant, that is, when and how to organize things. And I know exactly how to achieve an absolutely amazing harvest. But that’s only the theoretical part. The practical part requires YOUR help. (Which frankly stands for “PLEASE VOTE FOR ME”). This position requires that the person holding it represents our NC in the international environment, and particularly in Berlin among the EYP network and that he/she pushes its interests forward. I’ve been actively engaged in EYP Armenia since the very beginning, I know every need and interest of this family instinctively and in certain circumstances I care more about the family’s growth than my self-development. I believe this isn’t about getting the job, it’s about handling the responsibility when you have it. I have the necessary time, knowledge and most importantly the experience that I’m willing to devote to this job. …So if you were to buy corn, which supplier would you choose? What is EYP Armenia for you? When you hear someone speaking of EYP, do you feel like they’re talking about something that BELONGS to you? When you are being asked “What is EYP to you?” does the word “family” first pop up in your head? If the answer to these questions are yes, then you and I feel the same amount of love for EYP. On the other hand, if you have been with us for a while, I’m more than certain that you have had some hard feelings as well. You may have noticed several flaws, or felt like the old family-like relations have been getting somehow colder recently. Most of EYPers probably have. Just so have I. At a point it made me feel like I was done with it, but I honestly couldn’t stop participating. EYP has this magnetic energy that makes you apply no matter how busy or exhausted you are. This year I decided that it was better to go forward and solve the problems I believe exist than just to give up. 18

Yes, as an insider, I believe there are many flaws in the everyday conduct of EYP activities (that can be fixed). And yes, I believe it’s still better than any other youth organization in Armenia. What is EYP to me? It’s a network of young people where everyone hugs and kisses when greeting, regardless of closeness; it’s where you can sleep on the shoulder of someone you just met with no worries. It’s a complex of friendships, discoveries, adventures, stories and a roller coaster of emotions. EYP Armenia is my family, it’s the only place where I progress while feeling like I’m home.

Experience in the field of the position applying: The experience that I have in this field, is mainly gained in the scope of EYP forums during which I could develop my skills as an HR organizer. Besides I have participated in the training course which was related to the management and coordination of HR. My university course also lets me get experience and practice my skills. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Dear EYP Alumni and Members, I would like to show you all my enthusiasm and energy that I am to put in my work. If you are an EYP Alumni or Member, you should feel that spirit, encouragement, hope, dreams and lifechanging experience that makes EYP a place where we feel like home. I have been a little part of it and I want to have my input in it as well. During my EYP experience, I have done lots of things: organized events, was a delegate, was a chair, but the position of HR is the one that interested me the most and I can feel that I can do my best in this position as a Board Member as well. My team working and communication skills are developed, I am responsible and I can interact effectively with people of all age groups. It is a challenging experience and I decided to accept it. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP is a change. This is the word that describes EYP for me and I reckon for every single active EYPer. EYP has shown people that there is no word impossible, that you haven't revealed yourself, that you are capable of doing more than you thought. EYP changes you as a person, brings lots of events, forums to your life, gives you the experience that you need in your future work life, helps you to 20

reach your targets, gives you a chance to travel and to explore new countries, new cultures, but this is nothing without YOU, without the people that make EYP a home, that become your friends of crazy moments, of breathtaking memories, of your life, people that make EYP the change that you want to see in your life. EYP has changed my life in the best way and now it is my turn to be the change.

I'm a HR Manager of HARTAK Festival. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Dear all, Actually, the future Board Member of EYP Armenia must be chosen based on his words written in his motivation letter. By this I know how to approach people gently, recognize their interests and intentions, identify their personality. I love to be helpful and useful. That's why I have perfect organizational experience in EYP Armenia. I'm communicative but I choose friends very carefully. I'm proud man, and man of honor and word, but not arrogant and cynic. What is EYP Armenia for you? In the overwhelming majority of organizations co-workers are getting more friends enlarging their entourage, knowledge and experience. Mostly, they work for realizing the same ideas and notions. So ,EYP Armenia is too. But why is it unique? I think this is a place where people find their second family. Where people don't work for their personal benefits. Here the Armenian youth united. Here they always study to help each other - one for all and all for one. EYP Armenia promotes enthusiastic, purposeful young people giving them prospects of success. Nevertheless, here I have found good friends on whom I can rely and trust. In my opinion that is the most valuable thing in the world when you know that you have someone who always standing by. Thank you guys.

I had/have similar position during my volunteering at “World Education Fair 2014” and “World Education Fair 2016”, where right now I conduct PR activities. The events were organized my London EYE International Teaching Centre, where representatives from top ranked universities were presenting their offers to Armenian Youth. What is EYP Armenia for you? For me EYP Armenia is not just an organization, it is definitely much more. I remember my first moments at EYP, when during my first gathering I engaged with the atmosphere of amazing and creative people, within my first minutes I already got acquainted and became friends with many of them. My first participation in an international forum as a delegate from Armenia became a source of motivation and inspiration for me for a long time. All of these would have never happened if there was no EYP Armenia. I would not be wrong to say that it is a family, a family 33

where after each event or gathering you leave with something new, a family which gives you huge amount of skills and connections, where you feel the warmth and the joy of being a part of something big.

Grateful to current Board members of EYP Armenia and appreciating the extensive work they have done, I undertake huge responsibility by applying for PR Manager’s position in the Executive Board of EYP Armenia. The most important reasons for putting my candidacy for this position can be summarized in two words, six letters: LEAN ON (Lasting Experience, Aspiration and Networking: ON). I want EYP Armenia alumni and members, and of course, respected Board members to lean on me and my experience in Public Relations, which will surely turn into Lasting Experience in the scope of EYP Armenia due to my Aspiration to meet all EYPers’ expectations. With my enthusiasm and motivation I want to create a Network that will turn the aspiration of all alumni and members ON and will encourage them to follow their dreams, which will surely become reality thereafter.

35

My career path of Public Relations started with EYP, in the scope of the second International EYP Forum in Armenia (IEFA), where I firstly put my knowledge and skills into practice as a PR organiser of the forum. And now, after a year, by applying as a PR Manager and offering my keen support to EYP Armenia and all EYPers I want to express my gratitude to all of them for opening many doors and always being helpful to me. And now, I lean on you, all EYPers, my friends, believing in your dreams, goals and your aspiration to turn them into reality. Hence, let’s LEAN ON each other and achieve our successes by overcoming all the barriers and challenges together as a family, since this is EYP Armenia and it feels like home. What is EYP Armenia for you? There is a theory implying that small causes can have impressive effects. People call it a butterfly effect. However, I would rather call this an “EYP effect”, because even though EYP events last a few days, they have unbridgeable and life-changing effects in my life. Lately, one of my friends, hearing the abbreviation EYP, randomly asked: “Well, does that stand for ‘Extreme Yet Perfect’?” I could not say ‘no’, because, even though that was not the right answer, that described EYP Armenia perfectly. Right at that moment I truly realized the reason why it is another home for me, because here I have lived the most extreme moments in my life, it has helped me to push my limits, to enlarge my worldview and to seek to perfection. I have had many “first”s here: first time interacting with international youth, discussing important topics and issues of the world, first time traveling alone with amazing people, having unforgettable and adventurous time, first time finding out what is the true goal of my career and what I really want from my life. Thus, it is not the life span of the butterfly that matters, but the effect that it has on us, the lifechanging effects that recognize no time and no space just like EYP Armenia does. After these all, I can surely tell that EYP Armenia is the theory of my life.

Dear Friends, My EYP story started 2 years ago when I, as a delegate, entered Opening Ceremony of IEFA 2014. I am a kind of person, who enjoys challenges and who likes putting herself outside of her comfort zone. Therefore, I wanted this event to be a real experience for me. But who could have guessed that it would be so life-changing? I believe this could apply to each one of you. Thus, that is the first step, the first jump to the pool of swirling experiences of Life. Our first jumps vary, but after some time we all can enjoy every drop of that pool. Once you swim, you want to get more and go further. That’s the Magic of EYP. When persuading our friends to come with us, as a proof of our words most of us just say: “You will see”. And then, we choke in the huge cup of Discoveries. When saying EYP, each of us imagine different pictures, but whatever image we see, it is comprised of amazing people, who make this Magic come true for all of us. For now, I am a piece of a puzzle called EYP Armenia, but at this moment I want to become a piece which will connect more and more pieces, and make them be united! Let’s make the Picture bigger!

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Dear EYP Armenia Alumni and Members, It is my uttermost pleasure to be applying for the position of the PR Manager of EYP Armenia. Having been part of EYP, you all surely know that it has not only become a platform of engagement, but it has also grown into a Brand that has cherished the memories of thousands of Alumni and Members.

39

For me, EYP Armenia is not an organisation anymore. It has excelled to become a Brand that stands out of the crowd. Thus, appreciating the work accomplished by the Board Members of the EYP Armenia up to this point, I would like to take the responsibility of managing Public Relations of the Brand and presenting it in the most decent way possible. Undoubtedly, it takes courage and determination to be willing to undertake such liabilities, but it takes even more courage to comprehend the extent to which Public Relations matter in nowadays world. Managing Public Relations means being able to present oneself in a way that seeks for understanding and support as well as influencing opinion and behavior. My primary goal as PR Manager of EYP Armenia would be strengthening the reputation that the Brand has gained as a result of what it accomplished, what it said and what others said about it. The key to success in PR is “listening”. Throughout the one-year period of taking this position, I would be relying on the support of the EYP Armenia family in reinforcing the image that the Brand constructed, as I strongly believe that you are the image and the bearer of the Brand. And for that, “understanding” is the bridge. I am meticulous, trust-worthy and numerate and my strongest asset is the creativity that made me choose my profession as a Marketer. As Seth Godin once said, “People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories and magic”. In the end, it is the only thing that matters. Yours sincerely, Anatoli Chernyaev What is EYP Armenia for you? Every time I am asked this question, I perceive it differently and I think everyone has got the same feeling. There is an underlying emotion that is always maintained, but on different stages EYP Armenia has been something different for me. When I started off as a participant back in 2013, I had no idea where I was going and by the end of the same year, I had somehow come to sort of an understanding of it. 2014 gave me a completely different overview of what it actually was. Leaving Armenia and coming back in 2015, made me realize that what I had known was different from what it actually was. This is the feeling that I get every time I participate in an EYP initiative. It is vibrant, it is different, it is diverse in its nature and it is challenging. But it is always welcoming and warm, it makes you feel like home. Out of many warm emotions that I have felt during these years with EYP Armenia, I would recall the recent one which is probably the strongest and would stay in my memory forever. DECODE: Syunik Regional Session gave me a completely different insight into what EYP Armenia is accomplishing. Working with youngsters from regions is something I would want you all to feel: it is very challenging but at the same time very nurturing. Seeing my committee guys for the first time at the yard of the Technical School of Goris, being shy and being anxious about what was going on, being somehow afraid of that guy with a red scarf who told them they had to win 40

(actually, it was me), were the first impressions from that Session. And listening to the Final Speech of my Committee and seeing their hopeful eyes full of determination and persistence were the last things that I took with me from that experience. In fact, the thing that mattered the most was not their victory but the strength that they confessed at the end of the Session, “We have changed. I believe that everyone has a capacity of changing and becoming a better person. It is just all about encouraging and motivating. EYP Armenia has always been and will always stay a great source of inspiration for thousands of youngsters and, why not, adults. It is a great example of an organisation that started from scratch and has turned into a powerful unity of great minds that proved the imPOSSIBLE to actually be POSSIBLE. In the end, I would like to thank every single one of you for making EYP Armenia what it is today and what it is going to be tomorrow.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? How do you explain why some people are able to achieve things that seem impossible ? Because I believe everything is possible, and that is why I’m doing the impossible at the moment. I am trying to convince people who are older and more mature to vote for a 15 year old to become a communication officer. It really does seem impossible doesn’t it ? But I don’t think so, I believe in myself. I believe that this will be more than a job for me, because a job sounds like something one is forced to do, but I think this is an opportunity to start repaying EYP for everything it has done for me. The people I have met through EYP have helped me through many bad times, and have supported me no matter what. By being a communication officer I can inspire other teens to join EYP, through Facebook posts and info sessions. I think many people hesitate to join EYP as they have many questions and don’t know where to go for answers, and I’m ready to inform them about our platform and provide quality answers to their questions. I know that this might’ve sounded like a cliché speech but as a very wise man once said “Words do not express thoughts very well. They always become a little different immediately after they are expressed, a little distorted, a little foolish. What is EYP Armenia for you? I live by a quote that I love but might seem ridiculous to you “Live a life that gives you stories to tell your grandchildren”. This is my favorite quote of all time because I strive to live life to the 44

fullest, and to create memories that I will treasure forever. EYP is where I have made most of my fondest memories. Whenever someone mentions EYP I have instant flashbacks of discussions, games, parties and just people in general. EYP is where I have met most of my most amazing friends, friends who have made my life so much better. Who knew that filling out a random form I saw on Facebook because it looked interesting, would lead to this. EYP has done so much for me I could never be grateful enough. EYP feels like home. "

Organizer- “First Pan-Regional EYP Session: Press” Delegate – “Democratic Citizenship: obtaining, developing, empowering: IEFA 2015 Organizer – “First EYP School Session: ESS 2015” Delegate - “79th international session of the European Youth Parliament in Tampere, Finland”. Organizer – “Dilijan Academic EYP Forum: DAEF” Chairperson – “Democratic Citizenship: obtaining, developing, empowering: DECODE” Chairperson – “Tbilisi School Session 2016: TSS’16” in Tbilisi, Georgia Head Organizer – “Second Pan Regional EYP session: Press 2016” Experience in the field of the position applying: Currently I am a sophomore student majoring in English and Communications at the American University of Armenia. Studying communication helps me immensely to understand and apply the whole concept of Communication, PR and Media as a whole. My interest Communications has started since 2014 when I started working at “Helsinki Association for Human Rights NGO”. I was an assistant of the Communication manager. Since then I have understood the concept of the job and how it works. In 2015 I was an organizer of “Press 2015” in the field of PR and Communications. I was also a staff member of EHEA Ministerial Conference and Bologna Policy forum in Yerevan, in 2015, where my main tasks were communicating with ministers, translating their interviews and conversations. Later on, I have participated in many forums and conferences, where I have improved my communication skills. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? It’s already two years that I am member of EYP Armenia, and during these years I have understood the methodology of the organization’s work, the principles it applies and the future goals. Participating in various EYP events have helped me to fully understand what I can do for the organization and what it can give to me. Honestly, EYP has done lots of things for me and 46

now it’s the exact time to pay back to the EYP community. I do believe that it’s a great opportunity for young and enthusiastic people to show themselves and to be able to understand their role in the future. Being an Executive Board member will be a great opportunity for me to help young people to grow up as individuals (as I did there) and shine (because they can). If given this opportunity, I believe we would reach a mutually beneficial situation, since this position will allow for my passion communication, and my qualifications will support in driving the success of EYP. Finally, people (you) will vote for me because they (you) know me, my future plans and my willingness to work there. :) What is EYP Armenia for you? Do you know what I like most in EYP? It’s when you spend your days with the people whom you didn’t even know a week before and they become an important part of your life. Whenever answering on a question saying three words about EYP, it’s always difficult to answer, because I can say only one word about it which is “Life”.” This is how I answered on this question 6 months ago, and believe me, since than nothing has changed. It’s difficult to explain the importance of EYP Armenia for me as it is much more than just an organization. Hereby, I will one more time assure that it has the same importance for me - life. It’s about people – lots of different, unique and positive people; it’s about knowledge – a huge knowledge about different topics and spheres; it’s about culture – cultural differences of the whole Europe and finally it’s about you – here you are free to express yourself, to understand and/or to create your personality. So, I love EYP Armenia.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Dear Alumni and Members of EYP, I am a newbie in EYP and I suspect many of you reading this message haven't seen or talked with me much. However, I do believe it is just a matter of time. I often reflect on how much time I spend on going through the news on social media and wondered how this “ritual” can become more useful. Together with perfectly managing my academic tasks I also closely follow all the EYP, AUA, BBC, Bloomberg pages because that’s how I feel in the loop of everything going around. Working in the media sector of EYP seems to be the greatest and the most delightful duty to me and I will make sure that you enjoy any interaction with me well. Being an extremely enthusiastic and energetic person is exactly what one needs to work on such an important duty. Even though, the position of a Communication Officer will be new to me I will eagerly devote my time to accomplish any task given to me. I love to joke around with people and have fun (EYP alumni and members are the best people to have fun with, not saying this to win your hearts, or maybe just a little: D), as well as discuss serious issues and debate on important topics. Per contra, I want to assure you that I am capable of addressing my and others' thoughts in an excessively academic manner.

48

The crucial determinant of the manner of my writing, in this case, was to deliver the warmth and coziness of my nature. I will be incredibly happy to occupy the position of the Communication Officer and hope I will get the chance to do so with Your help. What is EYP Armenia for you? I have decided to be overly sincere with you all and tell the whole story of how I became a member of EYP. Firstly, I have seen all the videos and pictures of everyone having great time during the forums: playing games, discussing real issues and trying to find solutions to them. However, it seemed to me, that even if I become a member, I would still be looking at those events in the role of a bystander. I thought that becoming just a member is not enough to actually have your own contribution, which I really wanted to have. The fear of not being a part of something as wonderful as EYP family was immense; however, as soon as I got the courage to apply for AYSOR, all the fears vanished in the welcoming atmosphere of the forum. Right now I feel emotional and proud to say that EYP is one of the biggest motivations for me. All the organizers, delegates, media team, guests, every single person, who is part of the EYP family, inspires me to reach for the stars and making even a better place for the newcomers. The friendly and supportive spirit is what makes EYP feel like home. EYP does not end on the last day of the forum; EYP is the knowledge, moments and friends you gain for the rest of your life.

Name, Surname: Syuzanna Mkrtchyan Age: 17 years old City: Gyumri, Armenia Occupation: Ayb High School, 12th grade EYP Experience: EYP member, ESS, DECODE Lori, AYSOR Experience in the field of the position applying: I am managing two FB pages of WikiCamp and I was organizing info sessions about Ayb High School Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? I've started my EYP journey on July 20 (2015) with ESS. 202 days have passed since that, but during all those days I had a feeling of having a second family called EYP Armenia. A huge family, members of which are very different, some of them are high school students, others are studying in universities, there are lawyers, economists, teachers, etc. , some of them prefer tea to coffee, dark chocolate to milk chocolate , Cola to Pepsi, Barca to Real and others just the other way round. But there are some things in common, they are all enthusiastic, caring, supportive and all of them knows how to respond, when someone is shouting Alele. Then I understood that there are 10-12 people, who are kind of fathers and mothers of EYP family, the ones who are doing everything to see their family members happy and satisfied. And I was thinking, what about becoming one of them? I've found myself speaking about this family with sparkling eyes thousands of times. I wanted everybody to know how great this family is and I wanted to help them to become part of my EYP family. So that's why I've decided to apply for Communication officer of EYP Armenia. Hope, you'll vote for me. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP is about hot debates, fun activities, energizers, adventures, trips etc. but first of all, for me it is about people. EYP Armenia is my family.

Currently I am managing web page(http://eduardisabekyan.com/). Also I have an experience in many Tempus projects. Especially in Tempus Hen-Gear project I was IT team leader and now I am working on Tempus Govern project. We are creating Student Register for almost ten Armenian HEIs. Also I have created many other web-pages as freelance. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? EYP Armenia is not only the advanced organization which brings together many talented and unique participants, but for me it is also like a big family. To be part of this organization is already a huge achievement for me. I am EYP Armenia member for a couple months, but I met many interesting people here, who are smart and very creative. Some of them I meet frequently than others but every person who I meet are giving me the feelings like I meet my best friend or my family member. I think that it is first of all thanks to board members and event organizers who are very bright and very mature, despite they are very young. EYP Armenia for me is an organization which brings changes in our community. They are creating events, which differs from other events and they have not their alternative. As I mentioned in the above I take many positive things from being participant in the EYP Armenia and I gained many interesting friends here.

51

So for me it is the time to give back to EYP Armenia. It can be everything emotion, idea, speech or something else. I choose to be in the board and with my work help to have a better society. As Ruben Vardanyan once said and I truly believe that the driver of positive changes in the society is the part society, which believes that changes must occur and that ourselves must participate in them. So I ,with my experience in IT sphere, want to be in EYP Armenia IT team. I not only believe that changes will come, but also I want to participate in that changes. What is EYP Armenia for you? For me EYP Armenia is like a big bridge. Bridge is a very interesting and a very lovely, because it connects two pieces which are far or in the different levels. First of all EYP Armenia is connecting many interesting people in Armenia through their events and gatherings. Here I met people who have different interesting, professions and hobbies, and I met them and enjoyed their presence in my life thanks to EYP Armenia bridge. EYP Armenia also connects young people through all over the Europe. With the EYP events we can meet young people from all over the world, share our ideas, visions and change community and change ourselves. Unfortunately in Armenia, in every sphere we can meet the monopoly which is a huge problem. The monopoly is everywhere: in import, in export, in every sphere of economy and even in politics. To eliminate those monopolies we need to have an alternative. EYP Armenia is alternative, a very powerful and very perspectively alternative, which I believe could destroy in the first political monopoly in Armenia, by giving the alternative way. Way, which is brighter and better for all armenians and for all citizens of Armenia.

Dear EYP Armenia Alumni, I've participated in many EYP sessions as a creative manager's assistant and graphic designer. The final results have always been greater than what people initially expected. The greatest example was DAEF 2015 which had more creative design solutions than any other EYP session. DAEF 2015 was my latest EYP work. Just imagine how cooler the upcoming EYP sessions and events can look. Got the image? Then keep it in mind and vote for me ,because this girl's work will make you want to save your EYP badges after the sessions because of their beautiful designs and creative ideas. What is EYP Armenia for you? Have you noticed a girl walking around with a crown on her head during the EYP sessions? Yep, that's me and I must confess, the amount of positive energy and compliments I got during that time was the best feeling ever. EYP is the place where I can walk around with a crown on my head or a toy in my hand without getting strange looks from strangers, like it normally happens on the streets outside. What does EYP do? It gives solutions to modern-day problems with the help of the youth. Only youth is capable of suggesting unusual and at the same time working solutions and for that you've got to be a bit crazy inside. For me, EYP is the place where I can be as crazy as I want with other crazy fellows, it's the place I feel complete because I'm around people that shape the future of my country.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? My dearest EYP Alumni and Members, I have been a participant of different EYP – Armenia activities for more than four years. Nevertheless, last year was the most productive one for me, both in terms of engagement and based on what I gained from EYP and what my contributions were and how many young and aspiring people I happened to get acquainted with and to call friends and hope that so is their perception of me. In this regard application to the position of Vice-President on External Relations will not bring upon significant changes in my EYP career, since I intend to make this year even more productive and unforgettable. Many of my friends are EYP-ers and EYP Armenia is a home to me, a place where one would never experience solitude or melancholy.
