Dearest alumni, EYP the Netherlands is as always looking forward to a highly promising year, which will be started off with our 9th Alumni Weekend. Traditionally the first Alumni weekend of the year puts its focus on socialising, (re)connecting, teambuilding and of course having a great time with the whole bunch. Very soon all attending alumni of EYP the Netherlands will gather in the idyllic place of Austerlitz to witness a weekend full of social activities and relaxation. During these Alumni Weekends one of the purposes is to bring together all alumni to get to know the newest generation. The 9th Alumni Weekend of EYP the Netherlands will take place from the 7th until 9th of March 2014, and we surely hope that you are as much looking forward to it as we are! In this booklet you will find all the information you need!
Programme Next to relaxing, exercising and doing several activities, the newest alumni will be able to get familiar with the working procedure of the EU and all of its different functioning bodies. And there will also be a short introduction on how our organisation works, how you will be updated on upcoming sessions, how you can apply for future sessions, and much more. Another main event of the weekend is that the new board of EYP NL will be presented. During this, what we call, Annual Meeting there will be time to discuss and present ideas for the coming year of EYP.
Saturday night will be the time for one of our famous theme parties, where loud music will be blasting and where we will enjoy socialising with one another whilst doing crazy dances. This year the theme will be: APRES SKI
Saturday afternoon we will be playing some good old ‘Oud Hollandsche Spellen’, which we have happily prepared for you. Get ready for some embarrassing ‘spijkerpoepen’ en ‘koekhappen’. Later that you will get a workshop that covers information about the EU, which of course can come in great use for you as an EYP alumna/alumnus.
In a nutshell, the 9th Alumni Weekend is an event you most certainly do not want to miss on! The fact that every weekend always is a great success promises that the upcoming weekend will yet again surely meet the expectations.
Bring your best outfit and show so that we can all have a good banter in our thermal underwear and skiing costumes. This party will conclude a great skiing season and welcome the lovely spring. With our APRES SKI night, we will bring the snowy mountains to Austerlitz!
Travel Information
We will be staying at group accommodation ‘De Houtduif’ in Austerlitz, near Zeist. Pillows and blankets are not provided at the accommodation, so make sure to bring your own sleeping bag, pillowcase and bed sheets. And don’t forget to bring your towel! We expect all participants to arrive at the accommodation before 18:00 in order for everyone to join us for dinner on Friday the 7th of March. If you are not able to join us before that time, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to join us for dinner. The weekend is expected to end on Sunday the 9th of March around 17:00. Note: travel expenses will not be covered during the weekend, so please check your availability with the public transport/people willing to drive you there.
De Houtduif is situated close to the woods, and will have playing ground outside, a spot for a campfire and much more. The atmosphere of the location is perfect for a bonding weekend.
