Trainings weekend
Welcome to the 10th Alumni Weekend of EYP the Netherlands. We are kicking a new year of EYP off with yet another promising event. The autumn Alumni Weekend is primarily focused on the development of new skills for all of the EYP NL alumni. It’s a trainings weekend to get everyone ready for the upcoming four Preliminary Rounds and our 15th National Selection Conference. Aside from the trainings programmes there will be time to socialise, have fun and other activities. Moreover, please mind the change in location, as the weekend will be hosted in Delft! The location we are going to use in Delft is a location we have used before. The lovely Kruithuis will be our host this year as it has hosted the officials during the last National Selection Conference. The weekend might hold some memories from some of our new alumni and let me assure you: this weekend is going to be amazing. If you have not applied yet I can only hope you do so very quickly. I hope you are excited is as I am for the upcoming weekend and I look forward seeing all of you there.
This weekend will focus mainly on chairs training. You can learn all the tips and tricks about how to become a great chairperson. To make sure the weekend will be productive for everyone, you will be split into separate groups based on experience in EYP. The first group will focus one the basics and introduction of chairing in EYP, whereas the second group will give the opportunity to more experienced alumni to further develop their skills. Taking into consideration that we will focus on more than chairs training, the groups can differ per topic or position we will be focusing on.
Accommodation and information
On behalf of the board of EYP the Netherlands,
As aforementioned, we will be staying at ‘het Kruithuis’ in Delft, Zuid-Holland. EYP the Netherlands will have the entire venue and the area surrounding it at its disposal and all our activities during the day will take place in the accommodation. The arrival time at the venue will be between 16:00 and 18:00 on Friday 26th September. We would ask everyone to arrive between the given times. Diner will be served around 18:00. After diner there will be an evening programme, which will start around 20:00. If there is any reason why you would not be able to make it before 20:00, please send me an email. This will not be required for alumni who will be arriving a day later and have already mentioned this in their sign-up form.

BLAST FROM THE PAST
This fall EYP the Netherlands will organise its 10th Alumni Weekend. Our Alumni Weekends have played an essential role in the growth and development of our organisation and we would therefore like to mark this jubilee with a very special theme-party. On Saturday evening, we will remember and celebrate the past that has influenced us and made us into the individuals we are today. In order to travel back some ten years in time, we will dig up some classics from the beginning of the millennium: we are talking about the time when Britney was toxic, Snoop Dogg dropped it like it’s hot and the Moldovan pop music trio O-Zone took the world by storm with their hit ‘Dragonstea din tei’, just to leave its fans wanting more ever since.

As for the dress code, we will leave this open to your own wild imagination. To consider this freedom we’ve granted you with as a challenge and to come up with an impressive outfit is greatly in your interest. Not doing so is not so much. Hint? Who knows. Now go and look up those old CDs and playlist you have lying around – we know you have them, we all do, there’s no shame in that. Go and well up to the nostalgic tunes that have comforted you when you were emerging upon puberty. Go and get ready for an unforgettable night. We shall make our childhood music heroes proud.

Sweaters
There is also the opportunity to purchase an EYP the Netherlands sweater. The sweater will cost 30 euros a piece and is available in the sizes XS-XXL. If you would like a sweater please make sure you indicate this in you sign up form. The additional 30 euros can either be transferred together with your participation fee or can be paid in cash at the weekend.
