In 2013, FABRICations explored the future potential of a series of Dutch coastal towns in relation to climate adaptation and coastal protection. The dialogue between local specificities and a national strategy to deal with coastal erosion leads for each town to different solutions, strongly increasing the quality of each town and creating development space for local communities. This exploration is part of the larger programme 'Atelier Kustkwaliteit', in which the spatial potentials of coastal defence strategies were explored.
