Mourjan Marinas operate two marinas in Doha: the state-of-the-art Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City already well established, and the Four Seasons Marina in West Bay.

Mourjan Marinas

Mourjan Marinas is a Dubai-based company leading the maritime sector in the Middle East, and a Marina Industry Association member. Owned by Qatari company Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad and Sons Holdings (GSSG), the company’s aim is to create unforgettable marinas and yachting lifestyle destinations which offer a sense of place for owners, crew and visitors.

In addition to the two facilities in Qatar, Mourjan Marinas also operate the Almouj Marina, in the Al Mouj Muscat development in the Sultanate of Oman. Almouj Marina is a premier marina facility and flagship yachting destination accommodating yachts from 10 to 40 metres.

Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City

Construction work on Mourjan Marinas – Lusail City started in 2010 and the marina welcomed its first yacht in June 2011. In 2015 it was awarded as the Leading Marina Developer in the GCC’ in The World of Yachts Recognition Awards for Excellence, AMIA, while in 2014 it was awarded a regional-first marine industry International Achievement Award with the Clean Marina accreditation.

The marina was also awarded Boat Owner Middle East’s ‘Most Interesting Marine Development’ in December 2013.

For these reasons, it was selected as the home of the Qatar International Boat Show for 2014 and 2015, and is becoming the port of choice for marine leisure operators.

The marina includes three on-water lounge areas totalling more than 17,205 square feet, which can host a gathering of 25 up to a larger event of 130.

The marina’s lounge areas feature contemporary shade structures and are designed and built as the perfect setting to host a range of events including seminars, celebration parties, fashion shows, photo shoots and receptions.

It features 142 modern floating marina berths that can host yachts of 8-40 metres in length.

Unique ideas such as the ‘Mourjan Moments’ initiative are what make their marinas stand out. They create memorable experiences for boaters and visitors by surprising them with unexpected treats. The light hearted initiative has been rolled out across all of Mourjan Marinas flagship destinations in Muscat and Qatar, whereby they offer customers complementary fresh fruits, popcorn, cold water and many more treats during the weekend.

Mourjan Marinas - Lusail city is also home to a first-of-kind experiment to investigate the use of floating mangroves for ‘carbon sequestration’ – the capturing of carbon emissions. Announced in April 2013, it is a joint initiative between the UNESCO Doha Office, Mourjan Marinas and Lusail Real Estate Development Company. The results of this pioneering experiment will help shape understanding on mitigating climate change as scientists will see if the floating mangroves have the potential to make a significant contribution to reducing atmospheric carbon levels.
