Editorial Illustration Computer Drawing Project 1 By: Faith Jean Cariaga

PROJECT STATEMENT 

BACKGROUND For this project, we have to choose an existing editorial and create an illustration that depicts the issue being discussed. I am doing my project on an article that brings up the issue of Graffiti works and whether or not it’s considered as art or vandalism. I am doing this project because it will help me demonstrate vector graphics through technology, and learn how to generate technically accurate digital drawings and illustrations.

Vandalism/Graffiti art has always been an ongoing issue, and I can see why. Artists are always finding better, more different ways to be creative with their work. Then there’s people that just spray paint on wall for the heck of it. Nonetheless, I think the freedom to decide what is art and what isn’t, solely depends on each individual. 

TARGET AUDIENCE

OBJECTIVES After my audience gets the chance to experience this communication, I want them to seriously think more about what is being addressed in within the illustration. I want them to agree or disagree on what I’m trying to portray.

KEY BENEFIT Upon reading the objectives I have set, I hope that the audience will benefit from it. I hope that they will be able to form their own opinion from what they’ve seen from my illustration.

TONE For this project, I want my communication to have an emotional tone. I want my illustration to bring out the passionate side of an artist. I want them to be able to justify what is art to them, and I believe that it all starts from how they feel about the situation.

With my communication, I want to specifically reach artists, especially underground artists that are into graffiti, preferably men who are of the ages 17-27. 

SUPPORT STATEMENTS

MEDIA I want my communication to take form as not only an article photo, but also a poster.
