Ørestad is located in the growing region of Øresund, between Kastrup airport and the city center of Copenhagen.

It`s a unique location in the region because Regional trains, subway and international busses all stops in Ørestad.

Ørestad is: 3,1 000.000 m2 big, 5.000 m from north to south, 600 m wide and 1/3 of it is parks and nature.

The main intention on the site is to create a self contained center for Ørestad, a new economy, re-creative and poli-functional center for greater Copenhagen and a magnetic pole affecting all Øresund region and its fluxes.

STRATEGIES 2. A DENSLY STRUCTURED URBAN AREA

In this area the streets have been the guidline for the design and it has an environment with qualities which are yet to be found anywhere else in Ă˜restad


STRATEGIES 3.PUBLIC ORIENTATED AND FUNCTIONAL GROUND-LEVEL

1 To give rise to a lively groundlevel three squares and a long street that runs vertical through the area is created.

The west square would mainly function as a meeting point for people coming and leaving the hotel and golf course. There are parking places for cars and bus.


3. PUBLIC ORIENTATED STREET LEVEL student housing

Being in front of a student housing building, this square would be specially equiped to meet some standards desired by this populational group. Also food stores would be created towards the outside in the new entrance building in the west facade of fields.
