Dear Parents and Friends of Aldenham Prep School Thank you for supporting our ASPA Summer Fair. This is a hugely important date in our calendar providing a wonderful day for all the family. It takes a lot of hard work to organise such an event and thank you to our very dedicated team of helpers without whom such special days would not be possible.

All Aldenham parents are members of ASPA and I encourage you to get involved.

Not only do the many events raise money to support the children it is also a way of getting to know other parents and be part of the Aldenham Community.

We have our Open Morning on Saturday 14th June and we are again expecting many prospective parents who are eager to join our school. This is an occasion that always makes me feel very proud of our achievements and a chance for our wonderful students to shine as they guide parents around the school.

E T A D P U 2015 Has see a number of events to raise fund to support ASPA projects and have a bit of fun.

Events this year have included:

Fireworks night – ASPA Senior invited us once again to host a donut and traybake fundraiser stall.

Seasonal Art Project – children designed a piece of artwork and parents then had the option to order a number of products/gifts with their child’s design applied to it.

Secret Santa – Children chose up to 4 gifts from a selection of carefully selected stock and wrapped them up to give to their very lucky recipients.

Family Movie Afternoon – New for this year, ASPA Prep hosted an afternoon of shopping and movie watching. Highlights included Santa’s Grotto, seasonal food, and of course the movie itself ‘Home Alone’!

Quiz Night - celebrating 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. An entertaining evening of comradery and sportsmanship.

Line Dancing evening Wendy’s Wildcats led the evening full of toe-tapping music and boot-scooting fun!

In addition to all of this we managed to squeeze in a few coffee mornings even!

Thanks to your generosity and the success of ASPA Prep events to-date, we are making plans for spending a healthy chunk of ASPA Prep funds on the following: 25 Kindles and cases A book for every child was purchased from the Travelling Book fair at Christmas and delivered by the big man himself Happy Puzzle Company coming into schoo l for a day to run think ing skills and problem solving sessions with Years R-6

Introducing ASPA PREP EXPERIENCES Each class teacher has an allocation of up to £10 per child towards an activity or event to supplement classroom experience. Plans so far this year include: Nursery and Reception – a Farm came to visit the school; Yrs 1&2 – attended Room on the Broom at the Radlett Centre; Yrs 3&4 – visiting artist Kev Sutherland (Beano) for a day on comic drawing and willow modelling; Yr 5 – *to be confirmed; Yr 6 – War Horse in the West End
