Why are we here? • The Children Act 1989 & Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children Regs. 2011 • Current overnight short breaks contract with Action for Children ends 2018 • Desire to improve quality and value for children, families and tax payers • Necessity to optimise use of Council assets in challenging financial climate • Recommendation of Adults and Children’s Committee options appraisal
