The purpose of today’s meeting To summarise and respond to feedback received:

Online survey – statements consulted on [1] • Additional places are needed in [Kingston / Richmond] borough for CYP with EHCPs – 86% K, 90% R strongly agreed • Additional places should be created in specialist resource provisions (SRPs) in local mainstream schools – 50% K, 75% R strongly agreed; 21% K, 9% R disagreed or strongly disagreed
Online survey – statements consulted on [2] • More local provision helps CYP with EHCPs play a more active role in their home communities – 75% K, 88% R strongly agreed • I am in general agreement with the proposals in this document – 55% K, 74% R agreed or strongly agreed; 34% K, 16% R disagreed or strongly disagreed

Proposals in response • Choosing a school: composite brochures, including colour-coded maps; annual ‘marketplace’ event for parents/carers of Year 5 children; KS2/3 and post-16 transition officer posts • Pathways: to be mapped, in brochures and on Local Offer website • Inclusion: ‘Inclusion Charter’ to be agreed with schools • Staffing / training requirements: all new Teachers-in-Charge recruited in accordance with a common job description; CPD for all SRP staff; inreach training to rest of school; outreach training to other schools • MLD at secondary level: outreach from Clarendon and St Philip’s (already have SRPs at Darell and Tolworth Infant & Junior) • ABA: possible satellite of an external special school; outreach from Pear Tree; EPS creating action plan for use of SCERTS • ADHD: more training and awareness-raising, delivered by Behaviour Support – with input from support groups • Therapies: separate workstream; to be re-tendered

Changes to SRP proposals since the consultation • Castle Hill: SLCN SRP for up to 16 KS2 children – Year 3 intake of four children this September (instead of at Lovelace) • Tolworth Girls’: a 10-place SRP to be established there in September 2019 for girls (including those with Autism) with Emotional Health needs
