Looking back over August it’s clear that the global pandemic was not able to hold back the tide that is the gaming world. As big announcements were made, great titles launched and a whole host of happenings took place, it’s fair to say that 2020 still remains one of the most interesting years in recent memory. The console wars didn’t slow down in August but both Playstation and Xbox took a month off from showcases and this allowed publishers and developers to take a bit of the limelight for themselves. We saw the long awaited reveal of Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Activision announced the next Call of Duty title; Black Ops Cold War and players got their hands on an array of titles from Fast & Furious Crossroads to Faeria and EA Sports UFC 4 to Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, there really was something for everyone. We cant look back over the month without mentioning the colossal sucsess that was Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. It’s a great reminder that we never really know what’s coming next! In this issue of Tactics we’ll take a closer look at the driving topics behind Fall Guys (page 12), find out how Microsoft Flight Simulator & Tell Me Why faired in the hands of the critics (page 5) and let you which games made a splash in the previous month.
