CELEBRATING THE BEST IN GAMING...
Suffice to say it’s a fantasically exciting time for the industry. And to reflect that we’re also doing things a little differently this year. Instead of focusing on just the final few months of 2016 we decided to give the entire year the chance to shine, meaning any products released between January and December were considered for our list. The results are interesting to say the least. Furthermore we have also acknowledged a handful of key achievements at the end of this book. In order to compile this list, we strived to look at more than just sales figures. A brand’s worth comes down to so much more. PR campaign length, review scores and the focal source of content has significant meaning. In addition, the ongoing success of a trailer and its viewership or even a product’s attractiveness to youtube personalities are all key performance indicators too. This report does what others do not. It takes all major communication channels into consideration. Using our sophisticated measurement criteria to determine a game’s ranking, we have provided insight into the bigger picture when it comes to the year’s gaming releases. Using just one source to establish success is not offering the full story and Fancensus continues to understand this. So congratulations to every publisher, developer and product that managed to make it onto our list. Standing out from the crowd is no small feat and everyone deserves praise for their contributions to what was an amazing year for video games.
