Whilst trading remained challenging for UK Business, 2013 saw another very positive year of growth for The Pink Link Ltd. Never a company to rest on our laurels it has encouraged us to drive further and harder in 2014 to offer you a service that is the very best in the business. 2013 saw relentless focus on providing excellent customer service to ensure a consistently high level of delivery is maintained for you, our valued clients. Our hard work did not go unnoticed in the industry either. We were presented with a number of industry awards during 2013 which recognised successful sales volumes, as well as customer service and operational excellence. These awards are the comfort our clients require to reinforce they are using the best palletised distributer in the region. But it’s not all about business, at The Pink Link Ltd we are dedicated to giving something back.

Last year our charity work helped to raise over £35,000 bringing our grand total raised to date to £183,000 supporting both local and national charities such as Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Macmillan, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and the Huddersfield Town Foundation. This was supported through memorable events such as Pink October and Pedal 4 Pounds 4. None of these achievements would have been possible without the support of our loyal customers and suppliers, so thank you to each and every one of you.

Firm Foundations! HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

The Town Foundation serves breakfast to hundreds of school children across Yorkshire every week, and since its launch in July 2012 the Foundation has served over 70,000 breakfasts. We donated £6000 to the charity with money raised at our Pink October Ball, these funds will ensure that healthy and nutritious breakfasts continue to be available daily through the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club initiative.

On behalf of our Founder, Dean “Hoyle, the Board of Trustees and most importantly; the thousands of children and their families that we serve, I wish to express our sincere thanks to the Pink Link team for this most significant and valued donation. Since launching the Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club we have been amazed by the feedback we have received from all the schools.

Attendance levels have soared, behaviour and learning have improved, social skills developed and many parents and carers have now also become active volunteers and gained invaluable experiences and a feeling of self-worth. We now look forward to sharing these experiences with The Pink Link and showcasing our community spirit with them.

Pink October Proves A Huge Success! On the 12th October 2013 we hosted Pink October 2013 at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield, helping to raise vital funds for six carefully chosen charities including: Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Kirkwood Hospice, HRI Breast Clinic Fund, The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, The Huddersfield Town Foundation and The Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Trust. The event treated 275 guests to live music, a laser show and a delicious four-course meal and a Las Vegas style casino! A raffle and charity auction also took place which helped The Pink Link Ltd raise over £34,000 which has been donated to the chosen charities.

We couldn’t have wished for a more successful “event. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and

Auction prizes, which were kindly donated by a number of local businesses and individuals, included a round of golf on the prestigious Belfry course and a ski holiday to the French Alps which included accommodation, flights and a champagne reception.

Vicki Davenport

it was a fantastic, well supported occasion, raising an amazing amount of money for our six charities!

Sales & Commercial Director of The Pink Link Ltd.

Pedalling For More Pounds! Vicki Davenport successfully completed Huddersfield Town’s Pedal 4 Pounds 4 bike ride for the second year running on a tandem. The ride, sponsored by The Pink Link Ltd, raised vital funds for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign which provides money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town’s Youth Academy. We sponsored the annual charity bike ride, which saw 290 cyclists endure a 230 mile four day tour, for the third year running. The ride concluded on Saturday 4th May with the weary cyclists receiving a standing ovation when they completed a lap of honour before the relegation decider match. 2014 will see us sponsor the Pedal 4 Pound’s 5 bike ride for the fourth season running. This season’s cyclists will follow a route from Arsenal FC to the John Smith’s Stadium –named “‘The Chapman Trail” in honour of the club’s legendary manager Herbert Chapman – in order to raise money for the “Keep It Up” campaign. Richard Allen, Managing Director of The Pink Link, said “We’re absolutely delighted to be the main sponsor for The Pink Link Pedal 4 Pounds 5 and we wish all the participants including Vicki and Angie on the tandem, every success in finishing the course and, more importantly, in raising as much money as possible for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.”

The Pink Link Ride Coast 2 Coast On Friday 28th June through to Sunday 30th June 2013, Sales and Commercial Director, Vicki Davenport once again picked up her tandem bike to take part in the annual Boparan Coast 2 Coast bike ride, which proved to be one of the most challenging rides Vicki has endured. Riders cycled the main coast to coast route over two days from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, 140 miles in total. The bike ride raised money for The Boparan Charitable Trust, and the Orchid UK cancer charity. The Boparan Charitable Trust is a children’s charity, and the Orchid UK cancer charity is the only UK registered cancer charity to focus entirely on male-specific cancers. We’re pleased to have supported two great charities and thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the event.
