People. Results. Value. So much has changed since 2006. Apple’s first iPhone was still in the planning stages, tweeting was something only birds did and businesses the world over were largely unaware that the worst financial crisis in almost a century was just round the corner. It’s fair to say the conditions to start a full service marketing agency were far from ideal. But here we are 10 years later, stronger than ever. Many more established agencies didn’t make it through the worst of it, so how did we, a newcomer with no history but bags of gumption, big ideas and sky-high ambition, manage it? The answer is simple – we live by our values: People. Results. Value. This book is a celebration of these principles; of the people who have helped establish us as a multi award winning agency. It’s a tribute to the clients we’ve had the pleasure to work with over the past decade, the results we’ve delivered and the successes we’ve enjoyed together.

People. Relationships are at the core of what we do. The people at Fantastic are carefully chosen for their expertise in marketing, capacity to make sound business decisions and, just as importantly, for their ability to get on with other people. Since 2006, the progression of the digital space, the ubiquitousness of social media, and the innovation of personal devices has not just changed how we do business, but how we live our lives. At Fantastic we have embraced these changes and become experts in them. But they are business tools, not the be-all and endall of business. Business, for us, is making a personal connection, not just a digital one. We believe people buy into people and no matter what the next big thing is, for us that will always be the case.

Results. We know that results matter in business. Quantifiable results that actually mean something to what you do and how you do it. Results are not only a barometer of success, they can dictate what changes a business must make to be successful. For the past 10 years, our Insight analysis has helped us understand retailers, manufacturers, distributors, innovators and consumers, enabling us to deliver transformative results to clients by being creative, diligent and above all, honest. Every client we have worked with knows why we did something and what the results were. Whether it was a complete company rebrand, a TV advertising campaign or a single email newsletter, our results speak for themselves. We will continue to be judged on them and we’re fine with that.

YEARS OF
Value. If results are an indication of success then value, by definition, is success. It is positive gain and benefit. It’s the reason why we do what we do and one of the foundations of our own success. For 10 years we have delivered value to our clients simply by asking: what does success mean to you? We surpass those targets and expectations by adding value at every stage. It is why we have won numerous awards over the past ten years. We don’t peddle pretty pictures with no substance, we don’t tick boxes or punch clocks, we create meaningful value. Results are black and white, value is not. At Fantastic value is personal. Our relationships with clients define us and drive us to go the extra mile. We revel in the value we deliver for our clients because we share in their successes.
YEARS OF
The Future We are delighted by what we have achieved in the past decade, but we still have a long way to go. It’s a journey we’re looking forward to. We are proud to be one of the fastest growing agencies in the north of England. We are also one of the most decorated, but we will never rest on our laurels. We will never stand still and be satisfied with what we’ve done. We will add more experts to our marketing divisions so that we can continue to deliver industryleading services to our clients. We will grow, adapt and learn, and we will do this, as we have always done, on sound business principles.

Mobile devices are one of our biggest influences. They are always with us, always switched on. The average person looks at their phone 150 times a day. 90% of us keep them at arms reach at all times. Mobile devices are our preferred purchasing companions. We use them whilst watching TV and reading the paper. For around 80% of us, they are our primary research tool. 54% of us use them to find our preferred suppliers. The majority of companies do not have a mobile strategy. Many have failed to optimise their existing marketing activities, such as e-mail and search, for mobile users. Recent reports suggest that companies are still attributing insufficient amounts of their marketing budgets to mobile. Your advertising and messages now have a new, preferred channel for consumption and the devices that you are delivering to are capable of projecting almost any form of media. Moving The Brand On When valued client, Chadwick Lawrence merged with Godloves Solicitors and formally moved into Leeds city centre, the timing was perfect to refresh the brand. We treated the exercise as an evolution process, keeping the Chadwick Lawrence ‘rose’ and the hugely successful strapline, ‘Yorkshire’s Legal People’ and injecting some of Godloves’ more humanistic approach to create a fusion of the two.
The process also saw us focus on Chadwick Lawrence’s new city centre presence in Leeds and develop adverts for the Yorkshire Post to promote this. The result is a fresh new look which brings the brand into 2012!

PR Kicks off 2012 for In early 2012 we were delighted to secure a piece of press coverage worth in excess of £20,000 for client, Electrofarm.
Electrofarm is the UK’s first national company to re-sell used electrical equipment back into the UK market. By reusing products in this way, consumers can buy branded electrical items at a fraction of the cost, whilst also benefiting the environment. We secured an exclusive interview in The Sunday Times. The coverage had an immediate effect on the public, with website traffic soaring by 15,000% and sales increasing significantly for Electrofarm.
Managing Director Craig Thompson said: “I’m delighted with the Sunday Times article. It’s a great start to the year and the big things we’ve got planned as part of our Fantastic integrated marketing strategy for 2012.” Client Services Director, Donna Gardner, said: “It’s always exciting when our hard work results in such a great piece of coverage. Fantastic is all about results, and this is a real positive for the team.”

Are You Multi Channel Ready? Fantastic is delighted to announce its partnership with e-commerce platform provider, ChannelAdvisor. For more than a decade, ChannelAdvisor has set the global standard for e-commerce; by providing robust technology, strategic services and thought leadership, the e-commerce platform helps online retailers drive sales and brand awareness through channels such as marketplaces, shopping feeds and paid search engines. With this partnership Fantastic’s e-commerce clients now have the prospect of being channelled through large scale online market places such as eBay and Amazon, taking their businesses onto the next level. Christian Raben, Head of Strategic Partnerships at ChannelAdvisor said: “We recognised Fantastic Media as an agency with sizable e-commerce clients and some of the region’s most advanced e-commerce capabilities. It was a natural step to make the agency our partner in the northern region.
Marketing Receives Praise from MP After helping to launch one of Fantastic’s current marketing campaigns, the Rt Honourable John Healey, MP for Wentworth and Dearne, wrote a letter to say how pleased he is with the project. The Right Space is a newly formed company which aims to help SMEs take advantage of the economic downturn by offering commercial property at prices which are more affordable than renting. Mr Healey attended a launch event at Enterprise Court, a series of office units in the Dearne Valley, where he spoke about the importance of SMEs to the regional economy and welcomed The Right Space as an exciting new concept.
Managing Director Andy Hobson said “We’re delighted to receive praise from such a high level. Mr Healey is a great believer in the provision of affordable property for SMEs to allow our economy to grow from the ground up. His support is a great boost to our campaign.”
Kick Off For Charity! We were on hand recently at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester for the launch of the James Milner Foundation. thejamesmilnerfoundation.co.uk
The Foundation, brainchild of the Manchester City and England football player, is a charity to promote healthy recreation for the benefit of young people in the United Kingdom through the development, improvement and provision of opportunities in sports, in particular football, rugby and cricket.
We became involved through our sports contacts and were asked if we could support the Foundation with the brand development then design and build of a website. Happy to oblige, we set about creating a central hub for the Foundation which people can visit for information, news and to donate to the charity. We are not alone in our recognition of a good cause; the Foundation welcomed a number of sportsmen and sportswomen who kindly agreed to act as
patrons including Alan Shearer OBE, Faye White MBE, Kevin Sinfield, James Anderson MBE, Mark Cueto, Steve Harmison MBE, Patrick Vieira and Gordon Taylor OBE. The launch in front of the Sky Sports cameras was attended by a host of businesses who have pledged to support the foundation such as BMW, Nike, EA Sports, PFA, Corum Timepieces and of course Fantastic Media!
Harry Shows Cancer Who’s Boss We recently met with Yorkshire broadcast legend Harry Gration to discuss our campaign ‘Keep Your Head Keep Your Hair’ The aim of this national campaign is to raise the profile of scalp cooling during chemo (or cold cap treatment as it is more commonly known) and to make men in the UK aware that it is available in NHS and private hospitals throughout the country if requested by patients, nurses or doctors. Fantastic launched women’s campaign ‘Cool Head Warm Heart’ in 2010; as a result of
its success and enviable list of celebrity supporters, Fantastic launched the men’s campaign with the slogan ‘Show Cancer Who’s Boss’ to resonate with a male audience. Harry gave his full backing to the campaign having already brushed shoulders with Fantastic Media and award winning Paxman at the Examiner Business Awards in 2011.
Richard Paxman, Operations Director of Paxman commented: “Having worked with Fantastic over a number of years we know that the team will take advantage of every opportunity to promote our brand, whilst retaining the credibility which we’ve built over years in the business.”

Doubling Up Two new members of staff will strengthen Fantastic’s ever growing team. JP Gordon joins in a business development role to ensure the agency’s consistent growth as we enter 2011. His background is in the print and direct mail industry and his previous roles have centred on the production side along with new business. For the fourth year in a row Fantastic is continuing its partnership with Huddersfield University as it has employed mature student, Michael Bones, on a year’s placement in the digital department where he will work on video and design projects for a broad range of clients.
Andy Hobson, MD at Fantastic, commented: “The agency is 5 years old in January and to continue to be one of the region’s most successful integrated agencies, we need to keep growing and gaining more new clients. JP and Michael both bring with them valuable new skills which will ensure we continue to achieve these objectives.” JP added: “I’m delighted to join the Fantastic team, it’s a great opportunity to work for a forward thinking agency which offers a truly integrated service. Gingerbread Challenge As a Christmas present and also in celebration of our moving home, Fantastic set all its clients the challenge of building and decorating a gingerbread house at Christmas. We provided the tools and invited clients to send in their pictures. The best gingerbread house will win a donation of £100 to a charity of our client’s choice. Pictures of all entries will be posted on our website and the winner selected at the end of January.

Driving Growth For Fantastic is achieving great results for road safety campaign, Beddy, doubling hits to the website in just three months.
The eye catching, interactive, purpose built Beddy website, www.beddy.co.uk is gaining more and more visitors due to the ongoing targeted marketing and PR campaign implemented by Fantastic. The average time spent on the site has increased by over 40% to 2 minutes, page views have been up by 60% and 74% of traffic is from new visitors.
A direct mail campaign aimed at primary school head teachers in the Yorkshire region, totalling around 2,000 schools, emphasised the teaching resources housed on the site which link road safety to the national curriculum.
The postcards and enewsletters sent out as part of the campaign caused spikes in visits to the website and an increase in average daily visits. Ongoing marketing involving regular contact with key regional and trade journalists, along with securing the backing of national road safety charity, Brake, has gained significant coverage.
Charity Launch Puts Restaurant On The Map
Stars Of The Small Screen Fantastic secured Paxman Coolers another TV appearance for the third time in just over a year! This time on Ulster TV in Northern Ireland.
Fantastic Media worked with contemporary British restaurant on branding, a launch event and supporting marketing strategy.
The coverage was secured because the determination of a young female patient. A grant from the breast cancer charity, Walk the Walk, recently saw the delivery and installation of 12 scalp cooling machines into Altnagelvin Hospital, the first to be available in Northern Ireland.
This project saw Fantastic initially work on new branding for a formerly iconic Yorkshire eatery, after owners, Kristieanne Travers and Jonathan Tiffany began a refurbishment programme at the Holmfirth based restaurant. After buying the business from administrators twelve months ago, the couple felt it was time to put their own stamp on things and Fantastic supported them every step of the way. We worked in partnership with the team at The Hepworth to create the brand and
design a new website, complete with new photography. We then held a Monopoly themed launch event to really put The Hepworth on the map – we even designed a bespoke Monopoly board. The event raised much needed funds for Kirkwood Hospice and introduced The Hepworth to a long list of distinguished guests. Ongoing marketing work has seen The Hepworth brand promoted throughout Yorkshire both on and offline.
Donna Bedford, PR Director at Fantastic Media, said: “This has been a great project to work on. From designing a new brand for The Hepworth to creating supporting marketing collateral and organising the monopoly themed launch event as a tongue in cheek way of putting The Hepworth and its local suppliers on the map.”

Fantastic contacted all the relevant parties and put together a press release, then a press call was sent out to all the local publications and broadcast media. Significant press coverage was secured, including a radio interview, a story on BBC Belfast News Online, coverage in the Derry Journal and The Belfast Telegraph, as well as a slot on the six o’clock news with Ulster TV. The coverage reached an audience of over 600,00 people and achieved a PR value of over £32,000.

• Fantastic Media was commissioned to redevelop the Leeds United online retail offering back in 2008. In its first year online sales were up by 68%.
• Golf clothing experts County Golf came to Fantastic Media with a brief to launch a new ecommerce strategy for the company for 2011.
• Fantastic was commissioned to redevelop a brand new website for personalised clothing retailer Banana Moon in 2010.
• Utilising Fantastic’s brand new ‘Fantastic Framework’ v7.0. County Golf was the first ecommerce website to be built on this new system. Current projections show turnover is likely to by up by 220% in 2011 from the previous platform.
• The initial website project was a very challenging task, as the website had to allow customers to fully customise their order, uploading their own artwork, choosing their own fonts & colours and entering personalised messages to put on their garments.
• Since the launch of the website Fantastic has undertaken an aggressive lifecycle email marketing campaign to drive additional traffic to the website and let County’s customers know about the latest products on offer.
• Since we launched the new website sales have increased dramatically.
• In fact the store did so well in the preseason that the revenue generated within the first 6 weeks of trading covered the entire investment for the development of the platform. • The system is integrated with a fulfilment partner and through our agency support programme we have continued to grow turnover by 400% over the last 3 years.
• This strategy is already generating huge results, in fact the email marketing is now accountable for over half of all website sales.
• We continue to work closely with Banana Moon on new online initiatives like abandon basket emails and video tutorials, as they are aggressive in reinvesting the new found revenue to become the personalised clothing brand on the web.

2011, Full Service Marketing! The thing that will define the marketing industry in 2011 will be the return of the full service agency. We at Fantastic Media know full service never went away, but trends show that heads were turned and ill advised decisions made over the last 3 years with the influx of niche digital, social media and SEO specialists. Marketing is about understanding your client and advising them on which marketing medium is best for their brand. How and indeed why would we advise our clients to use TV, radio or any other channel if our only marketing service was SEO? We wouldn’t and couldn’t!
2010 signalled our biggest year of trading, marked a five year milestone and moved the business in to new offices. More importantly, however, was the success of our clients who had constant exposure to a menu of results driven, full service activities, month after month. Having just finished our January client results meetings as I write, our findings are showing that 94% of our clients have recorded Jan 2011, often the most difficult trading month of the year, as a return to profit as opposed to 38% in Jan 2010.

In For A Penny, In For A Pound We were chosen by one of the UK’s biggest discount retailers, Poundworld, to develop a completely new web offering for the popular high street store which will be finalised in early 2010. Poundworld has 80 stores nationwide and continues to grow rapidly, with even more store openings planned this year.
In order to drive footfall into stores and centralise recruitment operations, we have developed a website which details Poundworld’s product range, a store finder map and recruitment tool. The functionality of the site will allow Poundworld to maximise its potential and achieve its business objective of expanding the company further in 2010.
Unique Boutique Through the ongoing strategic marketing activity we are undertaking for Business Wardrobe, the online boutique for women’s designer office wear, we have achieved tangible results – increased traffic to the website, an upsurge in sales, optimised online searches through PR and the implementation of social media to positive effect. Working in partnership with the company’s Directors and style team, we have successfully
re-branded, making Business Wardrobe a name to contend with in the online fashion retailing industry. The articles, opinion pieces and news stories that have appeared in regional and national press, business publications and online have raised the website’s profile considerably. The site has been overhauled and is constantly updated with new sections, the latest photography and products to keep it fresh and contemporary. We have also
worked on an entire digital offering from setting up a blog to creating a video of the season’s looks and contributing on social networking sites to engage with existing and potential customers. January 2010 has been the website’s best month to date and demonstrates how an integrated offering provides coordination and consistency across the board whilst being cost effective and providing outstanding value and results for the client. www.businesswardrobe.com

A Step in the Right Direction Launched in 2007 by The Bacup Shoe Company Limited, Redfoot are the original folding shoes! Redfoot shoes are unique as they have a worldwide patented split sole which allows them to perfectly fold in half, allowing them to be stored in even the smallest of handbags. Our reputation and experience in building successful, effective ecommerce websites and follow up marketing strategies led to the company selecting us to drive this area of the business forward. The website, which launched at the end of August, has improved functionality, helping customer navigation with reviews and news on current trends. We have also integrated the e-commerce website with Redfoot’s back end stock system at its warehouse, creating a smoother, more reliable process.
We will now work closely with Redfoot to actively market the website, produce e-marketing campaigns and we are looking to develop an online trade system within the site which will allow Redfoot to communicate more easily with its stockists.
Keeping Cool at Pinderfields
James Scarr, Account Manager at Fantastic commented: “We are excited to be working with the team and look forward to implementing the marketing plan over the coming months.”

Legendary model, actress and author, Twiggy, has pledged her support for our ‘cool head warm heart’ campaign which aims to raise awareness of scalp cooling treatment in the UK. Twiggy showed her support for the campaign by saying: “Cancer is a truly awful disease with many side effects; however, the loss of hair can often be the most traumatic, affecting both the patient and their families. Driving Growth for Northern Commercials After thirty successful years in the industry, Northern Commercials has expanded into new regions, prompting a brand and marketing review. Our experience and results focused method of working motivated Northern Commercials to contact us and we have worked together to refresh the brand and its suite of marketing collateral. After bringing the brand up to date with bold colours and clean lines, Fantastic designed and built a website to act as a company brochure, providing information and showcasing Northern Commercials’ current vehicle stock. Moving forward, we will undertake a strategic marketing campaign which, along with frequent updates to the website, will encompass online marketing, PR and direct marketing to reach the company’s target audience and achieve results in line with its business objectives. www.nor-com.co.uk
Gary Pattison, Senior Account Manager at Fantastic, said: “The team at Northern Commercials are a pleasure to work with and the new marketing push will aim to build on an already solid brand and increase their profile throughout Yorkshire and the North West.” Roger Peel, Dealer Principle of Northern Commercials, added: “We’ve moved into the North West market and with a refreshed brand and working with Fantastic, we plan to drive the business forward in delivering first rate products and services.”
We recently completed a television advert for Yorkshire’s Injury Lawyers, specialists in personal injury claims, with the finished product being shown on ITV’s Yorkshire region in the mornings. The challenge was to create a broadcast quality advert within a short time scale which would catch the attention of the audience and increase awareness of the company in Yorkshire.

Keeping Cool at Pinderfields Huddersfield based Paxman, manufacturer of the Paxman scalp cooler, was delighted recently when one of its machines was donated to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield by a local charity. Wakefield Oncology and Leukaemia Fund (WOLF) raised thousands of pounds to see the delivery and installation of an additional scalp cooling machine at the hospital. This means that more patients can opt to receive the treatment and have the chance of retaining their hair during chemotherapy treatment for cancer. We secured significant regional coverage from the story with our photo call and subsequent PR campaign, including the breakfast
show on BBC Radio Leeds, Yorkshire Evening Post, Huddersfield Examiner and BBC News Online. Donna Bedford, PR Director at Fantastic, said: “This was such a generous donation and will make a big difference to patients in Wakefield. We want to spread the word about scalp cooling to as many people as possible so it’s great that the story achieved such a positive response from the regional media.”

We worked closely with the client, proposing a creative approach and filming style and delivering all aspects of production and post production. Continued Growth For Fantastic
Safety First Says Bedfords Transport’s new road safety initiative for children uses the animated character, Beddy, to educate children about the dangers of the road. Ten children and young people in the UK are killed or seriously injured in road accidents every day. Bedfords felt that this was a very important issue and as a transport company, it should set up a road safety initiative as part of its corporate responsibility programme. The Beddy scheme aims to work with schools, parents and children aged 5-7 to provide engaging and fun ways to teach road safety.
Working in partnership with Fantastic, cartoon characters based around Bedfords trucks and forklifts were created, with Beddy being the main focus. A creative, interactive website was designed and built which provides a range of downloadable lesson plans/ group activities for parents and teachers. There is also school visit programme where the children can have a look around the inside and outside of a real truck.
Through the national launch and regional press coverage each of the three target audiences will be addressed. The marketing collateral to further raise awareness and drive traffic to the Beddy website will include posters, newsletters and partnerships with relevant charities such as Brake and government bodies.
Rising To The Challenge
This is a large scale project and Bedfords and Fantastic can’t wait to hit the road with Beddy!
The Beddy website and initiative will www.beddy.co.uk be promoted to 3 key audiences: parents, children (5-7) and teachers, through a structured PR and marketing campaign.

In addition to taking work placement students, Fantastic has been working closely with a local school. Heckmondwike Grammar has set a group of its Year 12 students a branding and marketing challenge. Every year the school holds a successful ‘Challenge of Management’ conference which is attended by businesses around Yorkshire. The event required refreshed new corporate branding and design led marketing to take it to a new level.
The students were split up into two groups of three and had a few weeks to prepare their ideas before presenting back to their teachers and Fantastic’s MD, Andy Hobson.
Branding Challenge The winning group will see their ideas come to life as our creative designers produce promotional posters, tickets and brochures based on
the new theme. It’s a great way to get the pupils involved and show how the process works from start to finish.
Paul Whitcroft, Senior Creative, helps students from Heckmondwike Grammar artwork their ideas.

TV Legend Supports Our Campaign
Here at Fantastic, we believe it is vitally important to invest in the next generation and we know how important it is to have real world experience in business. We really wanted to give students from GCSE age through to University age a chance to find out for themselves about life in an agency and get involved in some real projects.
Legendary radio and TV presenter, Gloria Hunniford, is supporting our ‘cool head warm heart’ campaign to raise awareness of scalp cooling in the UK! This is a treatment that can reduce or prevent hair loss for chemotherapy patients.
We’ve already had three students come in for work placements this year and we’ve got five more booked in for the next couple of months. It has been a great success so far and we hope to continue giving more young people these great opportunities.
Striking Liquid Gold
After Gloria lost her daughter, Caron Keating, to cancer in 2004, she set up a foundation in her name and now fundraises for many different cancer associated charities.
It’s been a good start to 2010 for Liquid Accounts Ltd, one of the leaders in online accounting software, after the company attracted equity investment of over £750k and unveiled a brand new website.
Gloria said of the campaign: “Dealing with cancer is distressing enough, and for many, the thought of losing their hair as a side effect of chemotherapy can be very difficult indeed. This campaign to raise awareness of cold caps is so important, as all cancer patients should have access to information about this treatment and the knowledge that it can reduce or prevent hair loss.”
Fantastic is now working to develop and implement a strategic plan across the full marketing mix of services – from web to digital and PR – recognising that an integrated approach offers the best value and is the most effective way to achieve its objectives of building TM brand awareness and strengthening the company’s position as a market leader.

Mineral Magic Lily Lolo, the Hessle based mineral make up brand, was launched in 2005 at a time when there was no affordable range of mineral makeup available in the UK. The company has since continued to expand and has built up a cult following as a mineral specialist both nationally and overseas. As such, Lily Lolo required a fresh new website to reflect its growth and working in partnership with Fantastic, an interactive new site has been designed and built, aiming to make Lily Lolo stand out from its competitors. As a web based company, specialising in products for the beauty industry, it is essential for its website to look stylish and creative.
However, it was also important for the back end system to be highly functional and the site was developed so it can be updated quickly with offers, products and news as well as being fully optimised for search engines. These features are vital to ensuring that the site is listed at the top of Google rankings, ultimately achieving the key objectives of driving traffic to the website and increasing orders whilst keeping the site user friendly and creatively designed to appeal to customers.
There have already been some great comments from the brand’s fans on Facebook in response to the new site and word is also spreading on Twitter! www.lilylolo.co.uk
Rising To The Challenge We recently completed a video project for Unilever, one of the world’s most successful FMCG multinationals.
Fashion Finds Online
The challenge was to create a broadcast quality video, capturing the achievements and ambitions of one division, for use at an international conference in India.
We worked closely with the client, proposing a creative approach and photography style and delivering all aspects of production and post production.
With just ten days from brief to airing, delivery of a 10 minute edit featuring 22 members of staff was no mean feat.
The video was shot in a dynamic, energetic style to capture the passion and enthusiasm of the team.
Bonmarché, one of the UK’s largest quality ladies fashion retailers, was so impressed with our previous updates to its website and the results that were achieved in increasing traffic and levels of customer usability, that it signed us up for a huge new project to make its site entirely transactional.
After creating an entirely new back end integrated system tailored to Bonmarché’s needs for a store finder and careers section last year, these new web capabilities will enable Bonmarché to harness the popularity of online retailing.
This will allow customers to buy their favourite fashion finds from the comfort of their own homes.
We look forward to working with the Bonmarché team throughout 2010, ultimately helping to reach more of its customers through an enhanced online presence. www.bonmarche.co.uk
The finished product was a successful departure from the typical corporate video, featuring an engaging combination of interviews, product and environmental shots. The video was very well received by an international audience of marketers and we’re looking forward to working closely with Unilever on similar challenges in the future!

First Quarter Yields Continued Growth
Fantastic is continuing to see healthy growth after securing 5 new accounts in the first quarter of 2010, making this the agency’s most successful start to a new year in its four year history!
These account wins include working in partnership with entrepreneur and Apprentice finalist, Claire Young, Northern Commercials, Liquid Accounts, alpha media solutions and Banana Moon, once again proving the agency’s commercial experience across a broad range of industry sectors, from law firms to haulage companies and cosmetics brands to sports clubs.
News In Brief velta Trade Forum We’re in the process of organising an event with surface heating and cooling specialist, velta, which will be a UK first. Working with various industry partners velta plans to host the Thermo Active Building Solutions forum, with Fantastic acting as event managers including all associated marketing, filming and PR. www.velta-uk.co.uk
Top Of The Class Sign manufacturing specialist, Horizon Signs, has formed a new arm of the company – Horizon BSF – to specifically target the educational market with its unique products.
Working together as partners with each client, strategic plans will be developed and targeted campaigns implemented, whether through using the full service offering or concentrating on a specific area such as PR or digital. The aim for all clients is the same – to achieve consistent tangible results and return on investment.

Skopes, the mens clothing and corporatewear retailer, has worked with us for a number of years to develop, implement and maintain a successful marketing strategy. It was decided recently that a new digital offering should be launched to set Skopes apart from the competition and springboard the company into becoming a digital player in the corporate clothing industry.
Sporting Chance
It was very well received by the organisation, who have since posted it on YouTube, on their own website and it is in the pipeline to show it on sports TV channels. www.sportscoachuk.org
The new site has been built with the customer in mind, in each area users are able to download pdf versions of the brochures which can be personalized on request with their own branding. An interactive new section also enables customers to leave comments and send messages which will be useful to Skopes in maintaining its high levels of excellent customer service.

Through interviews with parents, children and influential local sporting figures an engaging video was created.
www.fantasticmedia.co.uk
As the region talks about coming out of recession, more and more companies are realising the importance of investing in marketing, PR, web and digital services as a cost effective means of building their business.
We will work closely with Horizon BSF, implementing a marketing and PR plan to raise awareness of its key product, the versa IRB, an audio visual interactive roller board, through targeted coverage in the trade press and e-marketing to key contacts.
We were recently appointed by sports coach UK, the leading charitable organisation in the development of the UK coaching system, to produce a promotional video aiming to encourage parents to get involved in coaching.
Andrew Hobson, Managing Director at Fantastic Media, said: “2010 has started very strongly for us and we’re working hard with all of our clients to achieve their business objectives and drive the region’s business growth forwards.”
The new website is essentially three sites in one, with separate exchange areas for corporatewear, wholesale and retail. Visitors to the site can therefore find the information that is most relevant to their business through the simple click of a button as they land on the site.
These enhancements to Skopes’ digital offering achieve the key objectives of making the site more user friendly as well as driving traffic to the website. Although Skopes has concessions on the high street, it is vital for the company to ensure its website uses the latest technology and appeals to its target markets as an ever increasing number of customers turn online to shop. www.skopes.com

Fantastic recently supported the official launch of Platinum Players, the exclusive members only service and online directory for professional footballers, at an invite-only party in the penthouse suite of London’s luxury 5 star Mayfair Hotel. Our most recent campaign for high street giant, Card Factory, to raise awareness of the chain’s incredible £1 million donation to Macmillan Cancer Support, was a huge success. Our Macmillan Mugs competition which invited under 12’s to send in their designs on the theme of ‘My Family’, proved very popular with the press and we generated over £37,000 worth of press coverage locally and nationally in newspapers and online. The winning design (pictured) is on sale in Card Factory stores nationwide for Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. www.cardfactory.eu.com
After Fantastic designed and built a stylish, functional website for the elite online club, the top movers and shakers of English football were invited to the launch for the opportunity to learn more about the unique services Platinum Players offers. The odd celebrity also attended and Fantastic’s staff mingled with Mel B and Chris Eubank, along with members of the press and footballing fraternity. The evening was a great success, the champagne flowed, the guests enjoyed food from leading London restaurant, Nobu, the profile of Platinum Players was well and truly raised and a good time was had by all. www.platinumplayers.co.uk

We’ve been working closely with Bonmarché, one of the UK’s largest quality ladies fasion retailers, to update its website - improving web services and reducing operating costs in the process! Working in conjunction with Google, we have developed an integrated system for the website with store finder and careers sections. The store finder feature uses Google Maps and our bespoke software then allows stores to be filtered by town, postcode and range. The visitor can then get directions to their chosen store. The information page that appears when a store is selected also shows the job vacancies available and details on how to apply. The back end integrated system we have developed and tailored to Bonmarché’s needs has enabled us to save the Company approximately £2,500 a year. For a one off outlay they have managed to eliminate an annual cost from the budget. We would call that a Fantastic result!
Remarkable Results Despite the state of the wider economic climate and the broken promises of a BBQ summer, times couldn’t be brighter at Fantastic. We are delighted that we are able to report a 24% increase for the first half of 2009 in comparison to the same period last year. This means we are on course in 2009 to achieve our best results to date! With 5 high profile strategic marketing account wins since the beginning of the year we have secured contracts through to 2011. Managing Director, Andy Hobson said: “We’ve built a successful business model which continues attracting new business in what are very tough times. By working to achieve our clients’ business objectives and delivering clear results month on month, they can see the value that an integrated, properly executed marketing campaign provides."
If you want to find out how this new store finder system could work for you and your website, please contact us. www.bonmarche.co.uk

Marathon Team Tackles Leeds
We’ve been working with high street giant, Card Factory, to develop the chain’s online presence and to create awareness of the company’s staggering £1million donation to Macmillan Cancer Support. Our digital team developed a site that worked within Card Factory’s current branding incorporating a store locator and linking into the existing recruitment facility. The new website launched in February and was met with excellent reviews from customers who were looking for an online platform to interact with Card Factory. We also launched the ‘Match Our Million’ campaign where Card Factory is challenging its customers to donate loose change in a bid to match the £1 million the company donated to

Utilising the website, we’ve created a bespoke reminder service for Card Factory customers enabling them to set up an online account and register birthdays, anniversaries and any other important dates. The service then sends a reminder email one week before the date and another a day before.
We’re constantly updating the site and will be improving the online recruitment site in the coming weeks, making it much easier for anyone wishing to apply for a job with Card Factory as the company grows. Again, this has gone down a storm with Card Factory Happy Mother’s Day customers who are loving the interaction with the brand. another fantastic recruit... Fantastic just keeps on growing! We’re delighted to welcome latest recruit, Lee Grasby on board!
Joining the agency in a directorial role, Lee brings over twenty years of marketing experience with him. Having worked at The Charles Walls Group and Outside The Box, Lee can boast clients such as Shell, BP, Boots, Boden, Matalan and Littlewoods. He also spent five years in senior marketing positions for National Australia Bank. His belief that marketing isn’t marketing unless it provides a significant return on investment made him an ideal match with Fantastic’s results driven business model.

In the meantime Farrer has committed to a corporate PR programme to raise the company’s profile within trade publications demonstrating its capabilities and successes.

Q-Gen, a supplier of ground source heat pumps, has decided to turn up the heat and appointed Fantastic to develop a strong, sustainable brand and an attractive, easy to use website. Due to the general public’s increasing awareness of environmental issues, greener methods of heating and cooling homes and commercial buildings are becoming an attractive proposition. We’ve been working closely with Q-Gen for several months to identify target audiences and design an instantly recognisable brand to promote confidence and peace of mind amongst prospective customers.
Following on from this, we’ve designed a new website for Q-Gen which has a easy to use navigational system, a ‘How It Works’ section with animated diagrams, video footage and a content management system for staff to upload information on the site. Romi Yarwood, Account Manager at Fantastic said: “We wanted to design and build a website which set Q-Gen apart from its competition. The animation and video clips added movement to the site and the dark, metallic colours give the brand a modern feel.”

When Leeds’ newest law firm needed a corporate identity Cohen Cramer turned to Fantastic to develop its branding, website and to spread the word. Our creative team worked on the coming together of two established firms, Howard Cohen & Co and Richard Cramer Solicitors and developed new branding. This then translated into the new company’s website which was designed and developed by our digital department to reflect the approachable yet professional nature of the company.
We also made the formal announcement to the media on the day of the merger, resulting in regional news coverage and national trade coverage. We’re now managing ongoing marketing for the progressive law firm including regular online Vodcasts and strategic public relations as we continue to target key markets and communicate key messages.

The superstore software was designed by Fantastic’s digital team to plug into the existing site and has boosted sales which are overall 55% up on last year. Yorkshire’s Legal People Chadwick Lawrence has been providing legal advice and representation for over 160 years and now has six offices covering the West Yorkshire region. A move into new offices in Wakefield’s prestigious Paragon Business Centre prompted the law firm to review its marketing activity and Fantastic Media was appointed as Chadwick Lawrence’s retained agency. Fantastic gave the brand an overhaul and looked to reposition the company in the region’s legal market as a true reflection of its size and expertise. platinum players is a new secret service and online directory specifically designed for professional footballers. After months of brand development the website was launch by fantastic and the service is now live.
yorkshires’s biggest new development project got off the ground and attracted the television crews, with support from fantastic media.
Fantastic worked with Platinum Players to develop an exclusive online club, which footballers can join for information on the latest luxury goods, from gadgets to holidays to cars. They can use the online directory to source these items, or even take advantage of the concierge service, using Platinum Players to personally find whatever they’re looking for.
The HD One is a proposed new leisure development being undertaken by the KSDL partnership. Fantastic Media was appointed to provide integrated, strategic marketing support to bring the proposals to life. The agency employed the tactical use of a website, dedicated series’ of printed material for both local residents and potential investors, an exhibition stand and launch PR to meet the key objectives of The HD One launch project.
A direct marketing campaign will be managed by Fantastic which will issue 4500 members of the Professional Footballers Association with invitations to join this elite club, which is the brainchild of Middlesbrough left-back, Andrew Taylor. He hopes the secret service can alleviate footballers of the constant stress of exposure and press attention they incur in everyday life.
The launch took place during the summer, with plans being unveiled to the public and a formal consultation period beginning. Fantastic’s work provided the necessary information and feedback opportunities before the proposals go in for planning permission. The response to the marketing campaign was positive with regional media backing the development and both ITV’s Calendar News and BBC’s Look North covering the story.
Romi Yarwood, Account Manager at Fantastic said: “As sports marketing specialists we were able to use our experience and knowledge of the industry to guide Platinum Players through the brand development process, including the design and build of a functional, stylish website. Now the site is live we have an integrated marketing campaign in place encompassing ongoing email marketing and PR. We’re looking forward to getting stuck in and watching memberships soar!”

The ‘Century of Loyalty’ created by Fantastic was used in the pre-season centenary campaign, which has resulted in the sale of 16,000 season tickets; Town’s largest pre-season ticket sales figure for 35 years.
Earlier in the month, Fantastic was unveiled as new stand sponsors at the Galpharm Stadium; home of Huddersfield Town. The five year deal cements the relationship between the club and the agency.
Huddersfield Town FC was formed in 1908 and undertook a six week campaign to create a buzz and excitement around the town about its 100th year as an association football club.

Obviously as stand sponsors we’re looking forward to a full house at all home games in the coming centenary season. Let’s make it a season to remember!”
As part of the campaign, Fantastic’s original designs were used on billboards in the town along with radio and TV ads. They were also produced as banner posters, brochures and flyers which formed the basis of a guerrilla marketing campaign throughout Huddersfield.

at FantastIC Fantastic Media has been helping create heroes (again!) having developed the brand and marketing strategy for Pitchero, a new social platform designed for sports clubs of all sizes to create and manage their own interactive websites. Pitchero provides football and rugby clubs with a free customised website, through which they can host videos, photo galleries, post team news, match results and fixtures, and even track their season’s progress with automatically updated league tables. Fantastic was appointed to create a brand for the platform which captured the essence of semiprofessional and amateur sport, and the enjoyment its participants gain from playing for their local teams. Pitchero is the brainchild of Mark Fletcher and Jon Milson, two recent university graduates who identified an opportunity to combine the popularity of social networking with their passion for grassroots sports.
Interest in the new site has already come from rugby and football clubs across the region, with teams in Leeds and Huddersfield amongst the first to use the free site-builder service. With its video and photo capability, Pitchero allows players to showcase their talent across the club, league or entire Pitchero network, and enables member clubs to enjoy a level of online media exposure and capability, usually enjoyed by professional clubs. Fantastic Media Strategic Director Andrew McCarthy added: “Conceptually, Pitchero blew us away when Mark and Jon presented it. Creating a brand for such a powerful concept is the kind of challenge every agency craves: we’re delighted to be onboard and see how far we can take this venture.”
Managing Director Mark Fletcher said: “The branding and design work developed by Fantastic perfectly encapsulates the Pitchero proposition. It’s great to see our concept come to life after months of development, with such impact.”

FROM DRAGONS DEN TO A FANTASTIC WEBSITE Fantastic has never been afraid of bullies, and so it was with great pleasure we teamed up with Huddersfield puppeteers The Wright Stuff to develop its new website, fresh from the company rejecting multi-millionaire Peter Jones’ financial overtures on the hit BBC2 show Dragons Den. Steve Wright, the man behind Bez and a cast of other colourful characters at the Wright Stuff, chose Leeds-based Fantastic Media™ in a three way pitch to develop Get Your Head Round It, an interactive educational website broadcasting videos which support the National Curriculum. The site, www.getyourheadroundit.co.uk, is a subscription-based site targeted at schools, youth groups and institutions and uses the Wright Stuff cast of characters to inform and entertain viewers on subjects as diverse as citizenship through to sexual health.
International shop fitting company Replan has appointed Fantastic Media™ to create a strategic marketing campaign across a variety of sectors. Fantastic Media appoints Business Development Manager Fantastic Media has appointed Jane Cullinane in the newly created position of Business Development Manager. Jane will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans that will maximise the profits and growth of Fantastic Media. She will also be accountable for the identification, development and winning of new clients, whilst working closely with the marketing and media departments in order to achieve and exceed current clients’ requirements. Previously to joining the Fantastic Media team, Jane gained a BA Hons degree in Business & Marketing from the University of Huddersfield in 2000, where during this time she took part in a year long placement scheme and worked as a Marketing Manager at Hewlett Packard in Vienna. After completing her studies in the UK, Jane was then employed in the same role at Sun Micro Systems in London. Following this, Jane returned to Vienna where she fulfilled the position of UK Marketing Manager for Phillips in the Speech Processing Division. She then came back to England and was employed as a Business Development Manager at marketing agency Blue Ginger where she secured many key accounts. About the appointment, Managing Director Andy Hobson says, ‘we hired Jane to support both new business generation for Fantastic Media, and also to drive key relationships for current and prospective clients through the implementation of various business development and marketing initiatives. I believe she will be a key asset to the team and we are all looking forward to working with her.’
The Fantastic Media team join in the party! A great day was had by all on Friday March 17th as the Fantastic Media team not only celebrated St Patrick’s Day, but also Chloe’s birthday. Chloe, our Media Executive who takes care the advertising and PR roles within the company celebrated in style as she adorned the St Patrick’s Day hat and got into the spirit of the traditional Irish day. The rest of the team then decided to take a piece of the action and have their photo taken wearing the famous Guinness
hat, although Kieran didn’t look too impressed when he tried it on! Chloe who joined Fantastic Media in December after graduating from Lincoln University with a BA Hons in Public Relations and Advertising says, “It was good fun to celebrate my birthday and St Patrick’s Day together, though as I am not a Guinness drinker, wearing the hat will be as far as my celebrations go!”
An executive day out for the FM team! It was a bubbly day for the whole Fantastic Media team as everyone enjoyed a staff day out to warm up for the World Cup and watch local football team Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium. Fantastic Media had the use of its own private executive box, which the company has used for the whole season to entertain clients and also hold meetings in the room which overlooks the football pitch. Andy Hobson decided to treat the team to watch a Huddersfield Town FC match which everybody enjoyed, especially when he cracked open the Fantastic Media champagne. Huddersfield Town FC is currently one of Fantastic Media’s clients, and the
company carries out all the branding, marketing and promotional activities including hosting the club’s dedicated website for example. Richard Jones, Fantastic Media’s Operations Director says, “Our executive box is normally used for corporate occasions, however as the World Cup is upon us and the team has been working hard completing deadlines, Andy decided to treat us all to a day out to watch the football. Although it was only League 1 and not the World Cup, we all had a great day out, especially when Huddersfield came from behind to claim a glorious victory!”
Fantastic Media confirms chosen charity! A not so par-fect score for the Fantastic golf team!
Fantastic Media expands creative team with new appointment Fantastic Media would like to welcome Matt Hall to the team who has been appointed to expand the design department and fulfill the newly created role of Creative. Matt will work alongside the rest of the creative team, web and media departments to produce creative ideas and solutions for new and existing clients in various areas such as DM, point of sale and branding for example. Matt graduated with a first class honors degree in Creative Imaging from the University of Huddersfield in 2002, then, in affiliation with design consultancy Attik received full funding to study a Masters degree in Creative Imaging (Design). After gaining experience at top UK AD agencies, Matt was then employed as a Graphic Designer at CreativeLynx in Manchester for a number of years, where he worked with many high profile pharmaceutical companies. Regarding the appointment Fantastic Media Managing Director Andy Hobson says, “Fantastic is committed to developing the potential of the whole team and with our ever expanding client list, Matt’s appointment will provide an innovative and inspired outlook to the continual delivery of creative marketing solutions.”
The Fantastic Media team received standing ovations for their golfing skills; not for winning, but for being the team that scored some of the lowest number of points at both the annual Huddersfield Town FC and Leeds Rhinos golf days! Fantastic competed against twenty three other teams at both days from local companies who support Huddersfield Town FC and the Leeds Rhinos around the 18 holed Fixby and Moore Allerton golf club courses. As the team had been honest on the score card and actually handed it in at the end of the day, the Fixby Golf Club winner and losers’ announcement saw the lads receive a standing ovation from the whole crowd. The speaker congratulated the bunch on being such ‘fantastic’
losers and rewarded them with a putting mat to enable them to practice their golfing skills in time for next year. Not put off by coming last, the team then competed in the Leeds Rhinos golf day at the Moor Allerton golf course on Monday 5th June. The lads did try hard, and in fact scored a personal best, however it was still not enough; although this time the only consolation was not coming last! Andy Hobson says, “The rest of the team and I had a great time at both the golf days, and even though we lost, the rest of the teams and organisers were really impressed that we actually admitted our final scores, which in the end resulted with us receiving more applause than the actual winners!”
A fantastically rocking night! A great night was had by the whole of the Fantastic team, as everyone sang and danced away to Bryan Adams,At the ‘One Night With Bryan’ concert at the Galpharm Stadium on Thursday 1st June. Adams certainly gave an impressive show at the venue he first played at ten years ago, and he electrified the audience by singing a play list of songs spanning twenty five years. The 12,000 person strong crowd loved Bryan even more when he told everyone that his Mum was born in Meltham, Huddersfield! Fantastic Media orchestrated all of the
marketing and promotional collateral for the concert and it was a great reward for staff to go and watch Adams after working hard on the build up and endorsement of the event. Kieran, our Senior Web Developer says, “Although I wasn’t a massive Bryan Adams fan before the concert, I was amazed at how many songs I knew, and the rest of the Fantastic team and I all had a brilliant time!”
Fantastic Media has been proving it has healing properties by designing, hosting and managing a website for children’s charity HEAL. Now in its fourteenth year, HEAL, a UK registered charity, is committed to providing shelter, support, education and health for needy children in poverty stricken areas such as India for example. Furthermore, HEAL, Health and Education for All, ensures that donations are not wasted on administrative costs by not running any administrative offices or staff. All staff are volunteers so that all money raised can be used most effectively for children, and with the aim of expanding over the coming years, the charity wants to help up to 1,000 children escape the poverty trap by the end of the century. HEAL is currently running five projects which include a children’s home in Ankita, a children’s village near Guntur, a healthcare centre in Makineni, a poverty trap escape in Hyderabad and a boys’ hostel in Guntur.

Oscar Masood, Fantastic Media’s Web Developer says, ‘the team was delighted to be given the brief to host the site, and in return delivered a site that was not only stylish and easy to navigate, but also sympathetic and understanding to the nature of the charity and the work it carries out.’ He continues, ‘we are delighted to have chosen HEAL as our registered charity and hope that by working with the aid organisation and holding events such as auctions, where one of the lots to be sold is David Beckham’s football boots, Fantastic Media will raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.’

Fantastic Media to develop PFA website Fantastic Media has been selected to design, develop and host a website for the Professional Footballers' Association that will be used both as a marketing tool for the company and information source for players and fans alike. Being the largest and longest established sportsmen’s union in the world, the PFA has over 4,000 members both in England and the rest of the World, and employs over 250 people in key areas such as coaching, education and training for post football careers, accident and medical insurance, and financial management for example. It also works with other pro sports associations and has global football

involvement with FIFA and the UEFA Club competitions. The PFA came to Fantastic Media to develop a new e-commerce site due to the team already having success in hosting and managing sites for other sports brands such as Theo Walcott, the Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants and Huddersfield Town FC for example. The proposed site will showcase new adidas sporting products such as boots,
training kit and other essential sports apparel for registered professionals within the industry. Andy Hobson says,“Fantastic Media has been given the brief of redesigning and developing the PFA website, and with my experience within the sports industry combined with my knowledge in marketing will deliver a very effective site.”
Due to be held in ten of the UK’s major cities over the next twelve months, the project aims to encourage children between the ages of twelve and twenty, who are not normally able to compete in athletics programmes through regular clubs, to experience the sport at a street level. Creative Matt Hall who has been appointed to the project says, “The aim of the programme, which has been solely developed by Linford Christie and Darren Campbell, is to bring athletics to young people that under normal circumstances are not able to participate in. I have been working closely with Linford’s marketing team and hope to deliver a campaign that will
have a really positive effect on these children’s lives”. The theme of the new Nuff Respect programme will combine a corporate ID, leaflets, flyers, posters and press adverts that convey a gritty urban feel, with a clear, concise website design, allowing participants to download and submit entry forms for various stages of the project.

Nike is on the run with Fantastic Media! Fantastic Media has been working alongside Mango Experiential Marketing to design and print various promotional visual collateral items to endorse the nationwide ‘Run Natural’ campaign for Nike. Back in the 70’s, Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman turned up at race meets and let people try out shoes from the back of his car. 30 years on, and Bowerman’s sprit still lives on with the network of Nike Trial Vans travelling the world offering advice and support to keen amateur and
professional runners alike. Nike stage training runs at locations around the country, offering free video gait analysis to assess individual running style and give advice on which footwear will work to encourage that natural style rather than against it. No sales pitch, just shoes, advice and water. Fantastic Media was approached through Mango, the events management agency responsible for organising the actual location and events of the travelling Nike vans, and has been actively involved in the
design and print of flyers and posters and graphics to promote and support the scheme. Senior Creative Duncan Rynehart says, “The ‘Run Natural’ campaign is a great programme to not only help runners improve their performance and reduce injury, but also promote the new range of Nike trainers engineered for runners by runners. It was a pleasure to work with Mango on such a great brief and I am looking forward to working on more projects with the company in the future.”
With World Cup fever still in the air, Fantastic Media is delighted to announce itself as the key influence in orchestrating the testimonial for Huddersfield Town FC legend Andy Booth. Fantastic Media Sports Marketing is co-ordinating a year long testimonial to thank the player for his dedication to the game. The events that are set to take part throughout the year include a golf day with guest speakers, a summer ball, a 56 page book on the life of Boothy the launch of various promotional merchandise and of course a testimonial football match. Paul Whitcroft, one of Fantastic Media’s designers who will be working on the testimonial says, “Having been a

A testimonial time for Fantastic Media! After a five year spell at Sheffield Wednesday and loan at Tottenham Hotspur, Andy re-joined Huddersfield Town FC in 2001. Now being fourth in the all time record of goal scorers for the team, ‘Boothy’ is now set to take part in his final season as a professional footballer, and after 150 appearances for his hometown team, Fantastic Mediawants to ensure that he receives a testimonial to remember. In celebration of Andy Booth’s contribution to football in Huddersfield,
The Fantastic Media team recently took part in a nautical day out as the crew embarked upon the CragRats customer service cruise. The cruise, which set sail on Monday 3rd July departed from the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and took participants on a seafaring journey of customer service. It began with passengers boarding the customer service vessel and enduring steerage of the stage 3 class that pointed out what makes a consumer experience unpleasant. The second stage of the journey, the cruise, helped to inspire the crew to consider customers’ from their points of view and actually enabled them to generate new ideas of how experiences can be improved. Having lunch around the captain’s table at the River Restaurant, and undergoing a world class customer service experience brought the cruise to an end which demonstrated to the crew what can actually be achieved by engaging with customers and taking time to find out what their needs and wants are.
Huddersfield Town FC fan for my whole life, I am very excited to be working on such a prestigious job and hope that after the full testimonial year, Andy Booth will realise what a legend he is, not only to the football club, but also Huddersfield as a whole.’

Fantastic Media would like to congratulate Laura Pegg from CragRats and the girls from Skopes Menswear for taking part in this years Cancer Research’s Race For Life
Laura, who is Marketing Manager for CragRats ran the 5km race on Saturday June 17th at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield, and the girls from Skopes on Saturday 1st July at Temple Newsom in Leeds. Both CragRats and Skopes are clients of Fantastic Media and all the girls all did their bit to raise money to support the life saving work that the charity thrives on. Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life began in 1994 with one race in Battersea Park which attracted 680 women and raised £36,000. Twelve years on and the run has grown to become the UK’s largest woman only fundraising event,
raising over £100 million for Cancer Research UK and attracting 2 million women entrants. This year the charity hopes to have 750,000 people take part and raise £46 million. Laura at CragRats says, ‘I would like to thank Fantastic Media for my sponsorship; I had a great time running in Race For Life and feel that a 5km run is small thing to do in comparison to the work that Cancer Research UK carries out.’ Andy Hobson says, ‘myself and the rest of the Fantastic team would like to congratulate Laura and the Skopes girls and hope that they have raised as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.’
Chartered Society of Designers membership for Fantastic Media As the world’s largest chartered body for professional designers, the Chartered Society of Designers represents all individuals in every discipline of the industry. The organisation is governed by the Royal Charter, therefore members have to adhere to the highest professional standards. Membership is only awarded to qualified designers who pass an admission assessment, and the society quotes that,
‘if a designer has MCSD or FCSD after their name you can be assured professional service’. Andy says, “I am really pleased with my membership, although I must say I was a bit nervous about the assessment as it was similar to being back at school! The membership will be a great asset to Fantastic Media, and overall it reflects the quality of design from the whole company”.
Well done to Oscar Masood, Fantastic Media’s Web Developer who passed his search engine optimisation course with flying colours. Oscar, who carries out web development and multimedia design for Fantastic Media’s clients, took the course entitled Website Promotion & Visibility by Design on Monday 20th March at the Innovation Centre in Leeds. The course outlined the importance of search engine optimisation, and considered the perspectives required and understanding needed of the practical steps involved in securing a high profile for websites. It also gave comparative approaches to site promotion, a breakdown on search engine optimisation site design and content, and an in depth look on external promotion. It also explored the wider conception of search engine optimisation; one premised
on giving both end users what they and other search engine owners want from a website, for example web pages that produce useful information about subjects that are being searched for. Now that Oscar is SEO qualified, he is able to develop websites for clients that are guaranteed to be found through search engines and ensure a high and stable rank over the long term, which is not only significantly cheaper, but also an investment that will provide maximum return. Oscar says, “The course was both an educational and practical tool, as not only did it highlight some interesting issues with regards to search engine optimisation,

Fantastic develops cool website! Paxman Coolers has assigned Fantastic Media to develop, host and manage its corporate and consumer website as part of an overall marketing collateral campaign. Paxman Coolers specialises in producing ‘Paxman Scalp Coolers’, cool caps that work to reduce both the temperature of the scalp, and the need to wear wigs when undergoing chemotherapy as a result of suffering from cancer. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, the caps integrate an effective cooling system that reduces not only the delivery of chemotherapy to this part of the body but also the worry of hair loss, which is often a distressing side of cancer.
The new website has been built as part of an overall strategic marketing campaign including flyer design and sponsorship of the SR4 sports car as seen below, and will be used as a reinforcement to inform patients on the methods and benefits of using the ‘Paxman Scalp Cooler’. Andy says, “The website is a vital tool for Paxman Coolers to inform patients about the advantages of the scalp cooler, and as cancer and chemotherapy are such sensitive issues, I feel that Fantastic has built a site that is not only educational but at the same time supportive and compassionate.”
but it also taught me some key practicalities which I can now include in the websites that I develop, which will in turn not only benefit the end product, but also achieve a high web visibility.”

his original web developing skills, enabling him to now fulfil roles such as adding server controls and functionalities, creating user controls, building a OCM web service and configuring and deploying an ASP.NET application to name but a few. Kieran says, “With web technology constantly developing, it is vital for people in my role to keep up with these trends, and I feel the courses have been a real aid in progressing my skills, enabling me to develop the most technologically up to date websites for clients.”
A Radical move for Fantastic Media! Fantastic Media has decided to live life in the fast lane by sponsoring a Radical SR4 track supercar. With styling inspired from Ducati and Bentley, a 200 Powertec Kawasaki motor and six speed gearbox, the SR4 is one of a number of Radical cars taking trackday racing by storm. It is included in a line of highly successful racers that have been winning races all over the world and dominated the national scene here in the UK for the past ten years. Radical runs two championships,
and with the SR4 now being able to carry a second passenger, it is ideal for trackdays and corporate days out. Fantastic Media is now the sponsor of a Radical SR4 that is owned by client Paxman Coolers, and since has been instrumental in both the design and look of the vehicle which will adorn the company brand, plus the marketing of track days which take place from the end of March to October at various racetracks such as Brands Hatch, Donnington and Silverstone. The whole team are looking forward to
their radical days out to watch the Fantastic SR4 race around the track and even have a ride in it themselves! Andy says, “The car is a great opportunity for Fantastic Media to show that it is willing to try something a bit different, and it is great to not only promote the company at track days, but also take clients on corporate days out!”

The whole team at CragRats were delighted with the end product and really appreciated the time and effort that Fantastic put into the project and responded by sending Duncan a thank you letter which was titled, ‘The wonderful, amazing, talented Duncan Rynehart’ and put into
works their gratitude and thanks for producing such great work. Duncan continues, “Here at Fantastic we do our up most to ensure that our clients receive the best service possible, and we go out of our way to make sure that we carry out their requirements to the best of our ability.”
