VENUE PLAN
The Toronto venue plan for the 2028 games will be centered around three main hubs, the East Ring, Central Ring, and West Ring. These area’s will hold the majority of the events and place the games in the excitement of downtown Toronto and the waterfront of Lake Ontario. A smaller number of venues and Soccer Preliminary events will be held in the Greater Toronto Region and in Vancouver, Ottawa, Québec, and Montreal. Toronto will utilize many existing venues for the games and create a multitude of temporary venues. The most notable construction will be that of the Olympic Park and Athletes Village that will both be constructed on Toronto’s waterfront. At this point in time Toronto is still studying the best venues to use and which sports to place in them. What follows below are images and lists that depict the plan that may take place. Some images are from the 2008 bid and are used for imagery purposes only. All of these plans are subject to change in the coming months. The Toronto venue plan will put the games not just in the heart of the city, but along the Toronto waterfront. They will become the lakefront games and bring a unique excitement and inspiration to the Olympic Games and provide a new sustainable model for future cities.
