The Cofounder and CEO of Saral Designs, which develops ultra-thins Sanitary pad making machines that make high quality and affordable sanity pads, quickly reset one of her machines to make disposable face masks. The 30-year-old entrepreneur is also manufacturing mask making machines.
Suhani Mohan and her co-founder Kartik Mehta knew, that they cannot do it alone and needed help so they emailed an Indian auto billionaire Anand Mahindra, who gave quick response to their email and connected them to the Mahindra’s engineers. Those engineers helped the due with procuring parts, fabrication, and assembling. Mask making machine was ready within 100 hours. This start-up has made a million masks till now. These masks are designed with non-woven polypropylene and were sold to hospitals at a low price. The company has manufactured a fully automated machine, that can produce 80 masks in a minute and is looking forward to producing a million masks in a month. The upgraded machine has cost 55,000 dollars that were provided by an Indian billionaire Harsh Mariwala’s Innovate 2 Beat COVID initiative. He made an announcement of the initiative in March 2020 through his Marico Innovation Foundation. Mariwala foundation and ATE Chandra Foundation (Founded by Amit Chandra the chairman and MD of Bain Capital Private Equity) has come together to make this initiative possible, and to offer a total grant value of RS 2.5 crores: Mariwala contributed 15 million and while Chandra contributed 10 million rupees with the reaming 100,000 dollars by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The oven has been developed and deployed larger variants for airport use to sanitize trolley, escalator handles, and many others.
Mariwala explained that his role is to scale up the start-ups, obtain regulatory approvals, and assist in distribution and Brading. One of the third companies Saral is in the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) segment. Some awardees start-ups in the ventilator segment will be proclaimed in the upcoming week or so.
The third one start-up called Crea Worldwide has got funding $ 55,000 for the initiative, the company makes personal protective kits for healthcare workers, dentists, and the police force. The PPE Kits include a face shield, breathable hydrophobic polyester, parka and coveralls, use non-laminated fabrics. A kit can be used up to 12 hours even in India’s searing summer heat.
The second start-up is supported by Mariwala, the company called Log 9 materials from Bangalore, the company recently has got about $100,000 from the Innovate2BeatCOVID grant to develop a Unique multi-focal UVL (Ultra Violet Light) disinfection chamber called as Corona Ovens that can sanitize anything within 10 min. The chamber size is similar to microwave that comes in 20 L, 30 L, and 40 L- with the help of it, you can sanitize shops, and home including masks, cell phones. With the help of the A33 L version, you can sanitize your groceries and eight N95 Mask.
The Founder of Crea Upkar Sharma was in the business of making military defense gear, without wasting time, he moved to make PPE gear. His first kit was ready in less than a week and now makes 1,300 kits in a day. He has said that they would make 4000 to 4500 kits per day.
The Corona Ovens price has between $140 and $ 190 and has already sold 1200 units-online. Now the log9 is coming with the Indian Institute of 17

People are returning from their jobs and starting to trickle out of their homes. During the lockdown, experts’ guidance has been followed well: As much as possible, stay home and avoid social gathering. In the new reality, with a vaccine likely still months or years away, some experts have said that a new approach is needed to implement among the people to stay safe amid this pandemic.

It would be great for people to stay home all the time, but we all know that isn’t possible. So now question is, what can we do to minimize the harm to ourselves and others if and when we choose to go out? In a short answer, Wash your hands. Do not touch the face. Wear a mask and maintains distance from people (you don’t live with) at least 6 feet. For those of you who have a chronic health issue, or are 65 years old or more, you should take all these precautions very seriously. Now a lot of people will say that short answers we have heard a million times, So we are going to discuss seven points, which may help you minimize risk while you going out.
1) Stick to the outdoors Experts have given a piece of advice for those who decide to go out: people who can do something out of their house instead of indoors, they should prefer it outdoors. At the time people prefer cooking in their yard, which is good for them. You should consider it as well.

AS per CDC, before eating or after using restroom “Hand should be washed with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.” Also do not forget to back of your hand, finger, thumbs, and your wrists. If you cannot access soap and water, use hand sanitizer with more than 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol. Yes, these hygiene practices work, and we are hearing over and over again. If you would like to minimize risk to yourself, then you should follow this hygiene practice.
3) Wear a mask In light of data about how coronavirus spread, along with proof of widespread coronavirus illness is communities all over the country, many institutions and organizations (CDC, WHO) agree that every individual should wear a mask when they go out. You can wear mask surgical mask, N95 mask if you have one, also cloth one would be good if you can’t access it.

CDC (The central for Disease control and prevention) recommends that “In public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.” Mask can stop transmission from the wearer to other people, especially from those who are infected but not showing symptoms at all. While many other experts hypothesize that masks are playing a very crucial role in this pandemic. Most countries are not allowing N95 for the general public because of shortage. As you know the country has allowed a maximum of 50 people at the wedding function or any other function. If you are hoisting event (which is not but it is going to happen) – offer masks to those who are attending the ceremony. When you wear a mask, don’t fidget with it like touching your face, and avoid taking it off until you return home. Throw away disposable masks once you use it, if you have reusable mask then wash after use them. Also, do not forget to wash your hand before and after taking off the mask. One more important thing, it is common to have a little harder time breathing while putting a mask on face for long hours. But you know discomfort is much better than not getting sick of the virus, so Do not take off the mask in the middle of somewhere.
4) Stay away from the crowded area Many markets are going to open up, again we are going to see the crowd in the market. Throughout this pandemic, people are being instructed to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others. So, stay away from the crowd. 5) Avoid share surface It could be possible that people can get coronavirus by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it if you want to minimize that risk, try to avoid share surface as much as possible. So even if you are planning to go outdoors, try not to touch anything which has been touched by different kinds of people, like swings, bench, swings, slides – at the very least, wipe them out before using them. If you are entering in the building -where you don’t live or using public transport, try to minimize how much of the space you touch. Now people are going back to their own office, but during this pandemic, try not to share food, drink, and many others. That doesn’t mean you have to be fearful about food or getting various things delivered to you.

When he would perform an operation (Facial operation) on their patients, Dr. Maltz got that it would take around 21 days to get used to seeing their new face. He also not noticed those patients who had an arm or leg amputated, they would sense a phantom limb for about 21 days before adjusting a new situation. Later, he did experiments on himself to change behavior, he found that it took himself around 21 days to form a new habit. He wrote these experiences “These, and many other commonly observed phenomena tend to show that it requires a minimum of about 21 days for an old mental image to dissolve and a new one to jell.” In 1960, Dr. Maxwell Maltz launched a book called “Psycho-Cybernetics,” in this book he has written his thoughts on behavior changes. The book went viral all across the country and become popular – till now over 30 million copies have been sold – this situational observation has become accepted as fact.

There are a lot of motivators and as more people like Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, and others recited Maltz’s story. But people forgot that he said “it takes a minimum of about 21 days” shortened it to, “It takes 21days to form a new habit.”
Dopamine is a very crucial chemical massager in the brain that strengthens the behavior and creates the craving to do it again. This is why most people crave drugs even they know in the end it will be harmful.
And that’s how people began the common myth everywhere that it takes “21 days” to become automatic. It’s remarkable how often these timelines are quoted as statistical facts. It could be quite a dangerous lesson - if the majority of people say something more often time, then every single one starts to believe it.
In 2009, published an article on European of Social Psychology, psychologists Phillippa Lally, H. M. Van Jaarsveld, Henry … Potts and jane Wardle (University College London, London, UK) made a research on 96 volunteers (30 men, 66 women) for 12 weeks, each person chose different behavior like 31 to choose a drinking behavior, 34 an exercise behavior, 4 mediation, and 27 choose eating behavior as per the article.
It makes sense why the “21 days.” become popular among the people. It’s easy to keep in mind the time frame and short enough to be inspiring, but most important long enough to be believable. In fact, who wouldn’t like to replace bad behavior with a good one after 21 days?
The research acknowledged that, on average it takes more than 9 weeks before a new habit becomes automatic – 66 days to be exact. However, it ultimately depends on a lot of things like the habit we chose, a person, and the circumstances. According to DR. Lally, the time it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days to become habitual of a new habit – not 21 days.
But, the reality is that Maxwell has written the whole book according to observation: what was going on around him and how he experienced the experiment himself. There isn’t any claim on it. In addition, he ensured to say that this was the min amount of time needed to adopt a new habit.
The most interesting thing, the study also found out, “Missing one opportunity to perform the behavior didn’t materially affect the habit formation process.” In another world, no matter if you mess up from time to time. Becoming habitual of new behavior is not all or nothing.
As per a 2012 study, published the British Journal of General Practice -- you can find on NCBI, “habits are defined as actions that are triggered automatically in response to contextual cues that have been associated with their performance.” Let’s take an example to understand this statement--when you hop on the car, you intuitively put on the seat belt.
