Prior to joining Bagir, Mr. Abramovitch served, from 2000 to 2005, as Chief Financial Officer and, from 2004 to 2005, as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Phytech Technologies (2000) Ltd., then an Israeli TASE-listed company. Mr. Abramovitch is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree in business administration from Tel Aviv University David Aviv is Radware’s Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Aviv’s team provides technology and marketing direction and support across the Radware organization. What is microfinance?

What are microfinance banks?

We have been empaneled by the Central Ministry of Women & Child Development led by Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, to conduct training/workshops on POSH on behalf of the ministry. We are also associated with 1 old age home and 1 Orphanage (meant for differently abled kids) and ensure their basic needs and we even conduct fun activities for them to rejuvenate them. Business Connect: Apart from work, what else do you like to spend your time doing? Dr. Abhishek: I love to travel and spend time with my wife on instantaneous outings around India. We both never go by planned vacations. Also, I have written a book on Sales – ‘The Untold Secrets of Sales’. Now I am writing another book. So, I love to spend some time on that too. Dr. Abhishek: We were selected by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to conduct training programs on POSH, empaneled by MPCON to conduct training programs on their behalf for various MP State Govt. Business Connect: Did you see any transformation happening for startups, over the years in your field? Ravi: Education and skills development is the fastest growing industry today. There is a huge gap between the skills developed by the education system and the skills required in professional life. Startups are coming up to fill this gap but everyone who is coming in this field will always have their own way of delivering it so that is always a differentiating factor. Business Connect: Did everything come easy, or you have your story of struggle? Ravi: Behind every success story, there is a struggle and that helps you to get better and stronger. Since we started this venture after having 22-23 years of experience of working in various industries and having gone through many ups and downs, the prior experiences helped us in making efficient and effective decisions and the outcome also went broadly as per expectations. The only challenge we faced was to make sure that the client could differentiate between us and the average service provider. The biggest challenge was always to win their trust and deliver as per their expectations and more. This philosophy of “delivering more than the expectation” helped to create a good brand image within this short duration of 5 years. Being in the field of education and learning, we believe that learning is a constant process and one needs to keep on doing research and knowledge enrichment to sharpen oneself. Business Connect: Do you still come back to work with the same zeal, like you did when you started? Ravi: Even more than that, I would say. I believe that our enthusiasm is increasing with each day. When we started, we had zeal about putting our best efforts to make it a success but with each growing phase and success, our self-confidence and enthusiasm has also increased. Now, we are enthusiastic about expanding our horizon, get involved in various other streams and putting our best efforts to maintain our reputation. Business Connect: In terms of your market, what do you feel the future holds for entrepreneurs? Ravi: The market is challenging and I believe every market with potential is always challenging. The consumer or client always has multiple options and makes things competitive and full of struggle to mark your presence. But, at the same time, it keeps you on your toes and pushes you to perform your best, give your best and be the best! Business Connect: How necessary do you feel is it to keep your employees content, how do you ensure it? Ravi: Business or companies can’t be run by a single person, no matter how good or talented one could be. Having a good team is a key to success and smooth running for any venture. We don’t look at people as our employees rather we believe in making them part of our team. A healthy team spirit ensures efficiency, effectiveness, and performance. Business Connect: Who is your role model in the business/entrepreneurial world and what have you learned from the person? Ravi: We learn from all of them and still strive to be unique and have our own unique style. We believe in learning from everyone and anyone, still we don’t have a particular name to look up to. We learn from our clients, we learn from our mistakes and we even try to learn from our competitors; however, we adopt everything in our own unique way. So far, we found ourselves as the market trend setter and although it becomes a little [ 41 ]
challenging when we find ourselves being copied by our competitors but then as they say “Imitation is the best form of flattery! “ Business Connect: How are you giving back to society (CSR, if any)? Ravi: We are lucky to be in a field where we don’t need to do something extra to give back to society. The reason we started “YOU Can Change” in itself is a cause. We help people in need by providing them support, counseling, mentoring, making them employable and some of our programs are helping to fight with depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, etc. Ravi, apart from work, also is an avid reader and reading keeps him relaxed and increases his knowledge. He believes in the old fashioned way of reading books and this interest was cultivated very early in school where his interest became a passion and library became his favorite place to relax and unwind. He also is a family man and likes to spend quality time with his family and go on long drives.
