O
riginating on handlooms in Switzerland (1750), the “Dotted Swiss” is a fine, lightweight, cotton batiste fabric ornamented with a woven or embroidered dotted pattern. Growing in popularity on the fashion scene today, Dotted Swiss is used for summer dresses, blouses, aprons, curtains, bedspreads, wedding apparel, baby clothes, and more.
Many variations of the original are available today - single colored or multicolored dots woven, flocked, printed, or embroidered onto lightweight fabrics. But the original look of Dotted Swiss is always the same - a sheer, lightweight fabric with a dotted motif….and we simply love it!
