welcome
In 1964 Bob Dylan released the album The Times They Are A-Changin’, 60 years later we’re delighted to be celebrating and exploring the impact of his work with Visions of Dylan, a three-day festival curated by Barb Jungr. Continuing our commitment to presenting music for all ages, this season’s programme ranges from Soundstorm, a night showcasing new bands, to Blunter Brothers who will be lighting up the dancefloor with their soul and funk mix.
As ever, we’re presenting a carefully curated film programme, high quality comedy evenings including Rosie Holt and Clive Anderson and a celebration of all things sewing at thread… a festival of textiles. We are also delighted that pre-show dining is back, with a dedicated menu cooked by our talented chefs.
There’s plenty on offer for families, including our very own adaptation of Quentin Blake’s classic Mrs Armitage on Wheels, a co-production with Scoot Theatre which plays here as part of its tour across the South East.
Finally, as we begin the exciting work with Waverley Borough Council to oversee the historic restoration of Willmer House, make sure to keep an eye out for the various exhibitions and activities at the Museum of Farnham throughout the season for all ages to enjoy.
We hope to welcome you soon.

This summer marks an exciting time in the museum’s history as repair work on the building’s front façade begins.
The Museum of Farnham is situated in Willmer House, a Grade I listed building of national significance. Built in 1718 for John Thorne, a local hop merchant, the house is considered to have one of the finest cut-brick façades in the country. However, at over 300 years old the building has started to show its age and urgent repairs are now needed to save this exceptional building.
The repair works are due to run until summer 2025. Throughout this period the museum will remain open and there will be a number of community engagement and conservation open days where you can meet the conservators and learn more about their work. You’ll also be able to keep up to date with the project via regular maltings’ blog posts and quarterly update displays at the museum.
In the meantime, we hope you will join us at one of the many events and exhibitions we are holding this season which celebrate the history and culture of the town.
